Troy was a great host and very responsive to every need. Everything was as described but better. It is extremely difficult to get any property on the water so close to traverse city and lelenau county. Silver lake was quiet and beautiful. We hope to stay there repeatedly.
We had a group of 9 staying at this property for a week in July. Pros:- Location- Sunset views are stunning!- House is very well stocked- Lots of space for a large group- Beach area is perfect for young children- Beds were reasonably comfortable- House was clean- Easy access for boat rental- Pac Man Arcade - my kids loved this!- Owner is very responsiveCons:- Air conditioning is only available in the bedrooms (window units)- Lack of counter space in basement bathroom- No dressers or places to unpack other than closets- Basement bunk beds have very thin mattressesOverall, we had a great week at this property. The listing does not clearly explain the air conditioning situation. Window units cool the bedrooms, but there is no air conditioning in the rest of the house. There are not many hot days in this area, however, our arrival day was one of them. After unloading all of our belongings, we were dripping in sweat and the fans were just circulating hot air. There is really no way to keep the bathrooms, kitchen or living area comfortable on a hot day. Luckily, it rained on our first full day and the temps were manageable the rest of the week. We used Boats Up North to rent a pontoon which is owned by a local teacher. He was easy to work with and I'd highly recommend them for a boat rental. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We had a great week renting this home!
This property is perfect for a multi family vacation. It was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The views from the deck and porch were beautiful! We enjoyed the beach area and loved the fire pit. We would most definitely stay here again.
We loved the location of the cottage because Moomers is one of our favorite spots up north!
We also took a day trips to Sleeping Bear Dune, a winery, Mission Point lighthouse, and golfed at a couple of golf courses. The proximity to Traverse City was a plus - we had to do a quick trip into town!
Our only negative was the condition of the kayaks and paddle boards: one kayak had sand fleas, so we didnât use it. And the fin on one of the paddle board was damaged.
Came with all adult family to visit wineries/distilleries. Unfortunately it rained every day so hiking and pontooning was cancelled. We did get in a round of golf tho it rained on the last 3 holes and was a bit beyond chilly! Would definitely stay in their house again. Comfortable beds, more than enough room! Kayaks - which one of our party did use! Loved our stay!
We had a fabulous stay. The property was beautiful and our grandchildren had a great time on the beach. Everything in the house was great and we enjoyed our time together as a family. Would definitely stay here again.
This property worked out fabulously for our family vacation. Very spacious, beautiful view off the back deck and nice beach for water access and firepit in the evening. The Kitchen & Laundry Room were well stocked. The host was very responsive to an issue that came up during our stay and took care of it immediately. The only disappointing thing was that we had to leave! I would highly recommend this property!
Our family of nine had just a fabulous time this past week. My wife and I invited our two sons, and their families for a week. Their 6 year old kids loved everything from the bunk beds and swimming beach. It's conveniently located to Traverse City, Interlochen, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Was spacious enough for all. Had a room for the kids and video games. Kids played on the beach every day. We had a couple of nice campfires on the beach. Very enjoyable
The house was fantastic. Iâve never stayed at a place with so many items to use. From cookware to beach toys to stuff to do in the yard. Normally you never have enough of anything. We packed and took a lot of things to stay busy And use and never unpacked any of it. The little beach at the house was perfect for the little kids. The lake was very nice and not overly busy. Iâd recommend this house to anyone. The owner personally text us a few times before the stay and was very responsive to inquiries.
This rental had SO much room for our family including 2 one year olds! Super baby friendly! It was also the most well stocked rental home we've seen! Even had a crockpot and soap to use! We had an amazing time making memories while fishing or hanging out around the camp fire in the provided Adirondack chairs! Was also in the perfect location around the corner from the grocery store and minutes to downtown Traverse City. We're already talking about next year.
* this rental does have well water so make sure to purchase your own water for coffee. It also does not have whole home A/C but the upstairs bedrooms all had their own window units and there was one in the great room as well. This ended up working out great for us!
Really wonderful property. We loved the sandy beach for the kiddos, it was a very comfortable and spacious house, and the owner was very responsive. Also loved being on a smaller lake for paddle boarding and kayaking. Highly recommend this house! Great stay!
We loved this property. We are an âoutdoorsyâ family so being right on the water and able to swim and play in the sand with our grandchildren was the best. We also enjoyed downtown traverse city and driving into the Leelanau peninsula.
Highly recommend renting this house. My extended family with 6 adults and 2 children stayed here. The house was *extremely* well appointed and had an incredible view. The owner was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The house is about 15 minutes from Traverse City. We went on a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, which was only 40 minutes away. We were also able to rent a pontoon from the local boat launch (Boats Up North) and drive around the lake for an entire day. Grocery stores and anything you would need is within a 3-10 minute drive. Our family made many memories, and the house was a big part of that!
Wonderful trip- getting kids and grandkids together is awesome and we had room in this house so everyone had their own space but yet we were all together
Very well appointed with incredible views of silver lake. This property feels very private, yet close to everything you could need. We were able to swim, kayak, boat, have family meals each night along with a relaxing fire. Also, close enough to go into Traverse City for shopping.
We recently stayed at Ag Lago for a week and it was fantastic. House was clean and wonderfully appointed with everything you might need. The pots, pans, knives were all in wonderful condition (which is hard to come by)! The house was bigger than it looked in the pictures which is rare! Would recommend for sure!
The property was even nicer than the pictures on VRBO. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes, etc. that you need . The beds were comfortable & the bathrooms were spotless. Our grandkids enjoyed their bunk room with the large tv. Everyone loved sitting around the fire pit in the evening. We had a great week enjoying the many adventures offered when visiting âUp Northâ.
We had such a wonderful week on Silver Lake. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed and beautifully clean. We spent most of our time down at the beach or splashing in the water! We especially loved how shallow the water near the beach was because we have 4 boys who swim at different levels. I wish we could go back today! It was truly a delightful week.
We are in love with the area and have been vacationing here for years. This is where we will retire and we are eager to share our love of the area with you.
This property had everything on our wish list. Nice sandy beach, good boating, tons of room for our entire extended family were the things that hooked us. Plus it's 10 minutes from some of the best dining in the state of Michigan.
The proximity to Interlochen truly intrigues us, we plan on taking a concert or two there, I would try it if you can. You can see the fireworks from the house for home games from the beach bums and Traverse City is right there!
