This house exceeded all of our expectations. Itâs a beautiful home with lots of charm. This house has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The location is the perfect distance for everything you need and want to explore. Our children age 3 and 4 enjoyed the soft sandy bottom shallow water and playing in the house when it rained. We We had a wonderful, perfect family vacation getaway. Very pleased! Highly recommend. We will be back!!!
Typical 60âs home, not recently updated. Window A/C x2 did a fair job of cooling the home. Fair on the cleanliness ..Throw rugs old..bathroom rugs not recently washed, grill disgusting, frig dirty. Beds and towels, etc good. Nice deck and dock. Plenty of kitchen dishes, etc. Cookware very old.
The location of property was good, sandy beach and water was as stated in listing. Swim platform was not useable due to alarge amount of duck droppings on top. Some areas inside house were not clean upon arrival. We were asked to put mole traps outside in the yard, Shower door in 2nd bathroom would not stay closed, Handrail outside of main entrance was loose and inside door handle kept falling off, water conversation was required, Ralph suggested we use the shower outside, coffee pot had liquid and coffee grounds in it, only 3 rooms were remodled and the 2nd bedroom had a mold smell. Blue rule book in livingroom had instructions that conflicted with those posted on the refrigerator about cleaning the house and had a phone contact number for cleaning lady. We did not use her as we paid a cleaning fee thru VRBO. Food was left in the refrigerator. Floor in master
bathroom was not clean. Ralph said his son had stayed in the house the week before we arrived. Ralph did not seam happy that we brought my pontoon boat with use. Use of his pontoon boat was not authorized.
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The property is nice and kept up well. The location is very convenient with shopping and eating options nearby and close to TC and other great towns. Owner was nice and responsive. One suggestion is to consider a bird deterrent for the dock. We were hoping to drop a line in but it was difficult to navigate due to the mess from the seagulls.
Overall not a bad property. The owner was easy to get ahold of. It was not as clean as I hoped but our family is picky as we used to run a cleaning business. We left the kitchen cleaner than when we arrived. It was not a huge deal and I did notify the owner upon check out. We told our teenagers to use the outside shower as they like to take long ones and the owners feel strongly about water conservation. We did do one load of laundry. Someone spilled on their shirt so we considered that to be an emergency but made sure we did a full load to justify doing it, We had plenty of space to spread out and not be on top of each other. We noticed some ants which was not surprising due to the lot being fairly wooded. We let Ralph know upon check out as well. Kitchen was well stocked with condiments and seasonings along with other staples. There were plenty of cleaning supplies on hand to clean up. Overall a nice place to stay.
Our family spent Labor Day weekend at the house. House was comfortable, lake access was great. Ralph, the owner, was kind and easily accessible at all times. Great family history in this property, the love and care for the home really shows. Had a great time fishing, caught many large and small mouth bass.
Our kids loved the swim platform and the sandy bottom of the lake. The cottage is well appointed and has everything that you would need for a comfortable and convenient stay. Communication was excellent.
Long lake is a beautiful place to vacation. The cottage was sizable enough so that three families comfortably stayed there at one time. The fully stocked kitchen was amazing. Pots, pans, dishes, as well as basic cooking supplies were all provided. The only negative we had was the smelly well water and the need for water conservation. We are city folks and are not used to that. We rented a pontoon boat while we were up there, and it was nice to have a dock available to tie the boat up to. We also really appreciated having kayaks and paddle boat available for our use. The owner was very prompt in all communications both before our visit and during our visit.
We had a great vacation staying at the cottage on Long Lake. The area is perfect as it is a short drive to many attractions such as Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The host was very responsive as we had a small issue connecting to the WIFI the 2nd day, and they contacted us and fixed it quickly. Great amenities such as kayaks, paddle boat, toys for kids, lots of towels, clean sheets, washer/dryer, and we loved the ceiling fans in all of the rooms for a breezy sleep when it was warm.
The beach could have been cleaned and weeded a bit more (as we had young kids who used the lakefront a ton) and the deck and patio furniture was a bit outdated, but overall it was everything we needed for a quiet week on a lake.
We had a wonderful stay! Lake was absolutely beautiful! Ralph was very responsive. When a Large branch fell from the tree it was promptly removed. His brother owns the house next door and family checked in a couple times to see if we needed anything but was very respectful of our privacy. House was obviously a special place for the family and well taken care of and cozy. Kitchen well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
The property sits on a nice lot flat with the shoreline. The lake is crystal clear. We enjoyed having kayaks, paddle boat and paddle board and it was nice for the grandkids to have some beach toys to play with. Kitchen was well equipped even had spices and some condiments in the refridgerator. Owners were very responsive to our needs.
