My friends and I stayed for my birthday and we had an amazing time! The kitchen has everything you need, the massage chair is to die for, the outdoor claw tub is a fantastic added bonus and the owners are super friendly and communicate well. Unfortunately the last guests did something to the hot tub so we didnât get to enjoy that, but the owner was very apologetic and made up for it to us. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Thanks Stephen & Lory!!
We rented this cabin for my granddaughterâs 16th birthday celebration with 3 of her friends. We were informed a few days before our arrival that the road off the highway to the cabin had not been plowed, and heavy snowfall from December was causing difficulty accessing it. I have a bad ankle so when he told us weâd have to park off the highway and walk in I was not exactly thrilled. With luggage and groceries it would have required several trips back and forth. But he messaged the day before saying the road had improved and we could drive in without chains. Unfortunately, It was still quite bad and scary even with my AWD SUV. We made it in but then had trouble getting inside with the door code which was very frustrating after the nerve racking drive. We heard some talking and realized that it was the owner speaking through a camera on a shed facing the doorway, trying to tell us where to find the key. Once inside we found a very cute and tidy cabin. The upstairs loft was perfect as the teen dwelling for the weekend. The Internet streaming to the TVâs worked great and they loved it. The beds were all comfortable, and one bathroom, (with no lock on the door?) was a bit dicey for 6 females. The kitchen was fine but had no dishwasher and we couldnât find a drain board. Also could use some organization as things seemed to be shoved into drawers with no rhyme or reason which made finding utensils a challenge. More regular sized dinner plates would be helpful, along with some serving bowls and spoons. Bring any special seasonings you may need for recipes you want to make. Oddly, there was barely enough room in the fridge for the food we brought and we had only one shelf for all our stuff for 6 people. It was pretty cold while there in early February so we used the beautiful fireplace a lot which was very cozy. They had good instructions which we followed to a tee but had to leave the fan set at 5 instead of 3 otherwise smoke would fill up the cabin. That made the wood burn much faster and any heat went up the chimney. The floors were freezing, so we had to use higher heat which made it very hot upstairs. The outdoor bathtub wasnât accessible due to very deep snow but did use the hot tub several times which was nice. We ended up having to walk in one night because it was too treacherous to try driving in at night. It took 25 minutes each way, 20 minute drive to Ski Bowl. Despite these issues, we all had a great time and really enjoyed the cabin.
We were doing a weekend on the Mountain so our kids could play in the snow. The area of the cabin is beautiful but make sure you have 4 wheel drive especially for winter months. We really enjoyed our stay there and how convenient it was to get to skibowl or Sno parks for sledding. We even got snow our last night at the cabin so the morning of checkout we played outside. The driveway is a hill so our boys spent an hour sledding down it.
The only thing we were disappointed by was the hot tub. This was one reason I chose this cabin when renting. It was very dirty and had a smell to it. Wished we could have enjoyed this part of the cabin more.
This cabin was perfect for our weekend ski trip! Everything was very well stocked and clean. The loft upstairs was perfect for the 6 teenagers we had, plenty of room for them to hang out. And to top it all off, Stephen and Lory were wonderful hosts with awesome communication. We hope to stay again.
What a great cabin! Dont let the rustic look from thr outside fool you! Our family of four stayed there for a ski weekend late Jan 2022. Great location for that. The owners have creature comforts everywhere for you. Hot tub, massage chair SUPREME, old fashioned arcade game, gas starter fireplace with firewood provided, gourmet kitchen supplies, etc. We are a family of four and lived the king bed upstairs and sleeping situation with our two kids up in the spacious loft with us. Only detraction I have to mention is that it's tough to access with the unusually heav snowfall that happened late December-early Jan. Our family had a blast there and would highly recommend!
We had the best time at Stephen and Lory's cabin. It was the perfect spot for our family and dog. The kids had the whole upstairs to themselves. We all loved the cozy cabin, warm fire, central kitchen, multiple TVs, large dining table, and perfect location. We went sledding, skiing, and built snow forts in the yard.
Stephen was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We can't wait to stay here again! 10/10 recommend this to anyone looking for a magical mountain getaway.
I have stayed in my share of VRBO's, this was by far the best stocked kitchen. I loved the outdoor bath tub with hot water directly to it.
Beautiful place you can tell this is more than just a vacation rental, this place is home to a family who allowed us to share it for a short period of time.
My family is hoping to book this again next year.
Lory & I have raised our 5 children at the mountain skiing and enjoying the outdoors. We have opened it up to share on a limited basis. If you have the opportunity to spend time there with your Family, we are sure it will give you great memories for years to come!
Our Cabin in the woods is unique in that it is fairly new compared to most all others on the mountain. Only 12 years old, it was built by a custom craftsman that made every detail quality as if they were going to live there themselves. We would love for you to experience too!
