My group staying here for a week in September had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We came for R&R, to enjoy the changing color of the aspen leaves, and experience the bugling elk during their rut season. It was a perfect week! The home is very comfortable and equipped with anything you could possibly need. We hope to come back next fall.
Enjoyed our stay! Lots of space for our group of 6 adults. The location was wonderful for everything we wanted to do. Lighting overall was too soft and could benefit from white lights in lieu of yellow. A postive experience and would stay again.
Great spot for a long weekend in the mountains. Plenty of room for six adults. Awesome front patio with the babbling brook in the front yard. Very close to everything in the Idaho Springs downtown area. Not too long of drive from great hikes and other outdoor activities. We really enjoyed our stay.
It is a beautiful property inside and out. The river runs several feet outside the door for a relaxing environment. We have people of all ages. Some prefer to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors close by. Our group also had hikers who love to find great hikes in the vicinity. The area offers good restaurants and fun shops. There is something for everyone. The house is roomy and people can find a nook away or hang out in the main room. Kitchen is nice for preparing family meals. It was a great time.
The property was excellent. We had plenty of room and although we didn't have small kids, it would be great for them. The kitchen was the best stocked we've ever had at a vacation home. We would definitely recommend this property.
This is the fourth time we have rented the property. Is always clean, convenient, and welcoming. We will most likely rent the property again in the future.
My family has stayed here twice now and it's great! The house is well stocked with anything you might need. There's plenty of room for the whole family. The play room and outside playground mean the kiddos are entertained. The adults love the wood-burning fireplace. Less than 5 minutes from downtown. The heat is a little finnicky but we brought layers to sleep in and were fine. Phyllis is a great host!
The cabin is beautiful with many rooms to hang out in and play games, watch movies, read, etc. The patio out front is wonderful. It is right by the river and is so relaxing being outside and enjoying the mountain views.
The road the cabin is on leads to the cemetery, which is a lovely place to walk or run. The wildflowers were lovely. There is also a trail above the cemetery that goes to the water wheel. It is a nice hike and has a great view of the whole town of Idaho Springs.
I recommend this place for families, as there is a fantastic play area for children with swings, a fort and slides.
The location is perfect as it is a little over a mile to town and has great access to the interstate and the highway going to Mt. Evans and other trailheads.
The property owner was very helpful and made the process easy. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean. Having the toys and games for the younger kids was great. The reasons for a 4 star and not 5 was the following: 1. the absence of a tv room with comfortable seating, 2. the heating / cooling issue with the different areas, especially the upstairs being so hot, 3. the grass in the playground area needed to be cut down some, and 4. the house is very dark and interior lighting needs to be updated.
We stayed in this home the last week of June 2019. The commute from DIA was easy and the home is very convenient to I-70. Check in and check out could not have been easier and Phyllis was very good at communicating throughout the process. Our family of ten was more than comfortable in this house and the bedroom with a nursery off of it and separate playroom was a huge hit with our 1 year old grandson. The kitchen was well equipped for our eating most dinners in and the dining room with a large table provided us with not only a great place to share meals, but also an awesome place to play games and enjoy the evenings. The patio, playground, and creek were all added bonuses to our spending time outside with the kids. The location was central to our white water excursion, Red Rocks, Mt Evans, St. Mary's Glacier, disc golf, hiking and even a day trip in to Denver to visit their beautiful Botanical Garden.
I would recommend this house, especially to those with families and would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area.
Property was beautiful and exactly as described. We really enjoyed the quiet beauty of the home and creek, all the skylights, the cozy and well-equipped kitchen, dining room, and upstairs for playing games, the proximity to Idaho Springs, and the relaxing weekend away. Kiddo loved the train room and playground, and the kids' bunk room is isolated upstairs from the rest of the house which is great for getting kids to sleep when adults are still making noise elsewhere. Our only (minor) suggestion is to procure thicker toilet paper.
Excellent property.....location was perfect. Very well appointed.....tons of detail in the interior decor. super clean. The creek in front was the focal point of our mornings. Playground for the kids was 10 out of 10!loved it.....will definitely be backHux
Very quaint mountain home perfect for multi-generation or large family groups. Lots of space to spread out. No one felt crowded. Very well stocked with extra blankets for chilly mountain air. Beautiful front porch with creek running right by makes for a wonderful place for morning coffee or evening wind down. Wide variety of games to reconnect without screens. Very close to downtown Idaho Springs for groceries or exploring. And a great launch-pad to Denver or other mountain vistas. Owners very responsive if needs arise.
The home worked well for our purpose. Everything was as represented. Convenient to Loveland ski area and the town of Idaho Springs had everything we needed.
We were overcome with emotion as we entered this cozy, well lived in and loved cabin! It reminded us so much of our own home, and Phyllis made us feel so welcomed! Our six grandchildren stayed in the bunk room upstairs, while all of the adults spread out in the downstairs â plenty of room!We are family who loves to cook, so the well laid out kitchen with many staples was so appreciated! We ate all our dinners at the amazing dining room table, which we could all sit around! The quaint town of Idaho Springs was a hit with all of us, and when we werenât skiing, we were exploring the shops and restaurants in this special place. This home was located about 30 minutes from Loveland ski resort in just a mile from downtown Idaho Springs. Great location! Phyllis was so quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had and really made us feel so comfortable in her family home. We would highly recommend this charming place for wonderful family togetherness!.
Had a great time staying at this home! Very comfortable and well-stocked, fabulous location for a home base if you are doing lots of outdoor activities.
We chose our Idaho Springs home because it is close to the city and we enjoy getting away with our family for long weekends of fishing, camping and biking.
Wildlife viewing, creek front property, easy access to historic downtown Idaho Springs, easy access to Yampa hot springs and spa, great restaurants (Beau Jo's pizza), great biking over Mount Evans road, easy access to skiing.
