Fort Morgan and Morgantown

Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Fun with Family

I loved that we were right on the beach. It was easy to get our chairs and umbrellas down and back up each day. The beach area around us was more crowded than I like, but that was due to the size of the neighborhood.

Location Location Location. This property is located on the beach sunrise and sunset are the best. The house is in need of a deep clean and update. The dust under the sofas and the stains on the doors needs to be addressed. The property needs to be updated. The bathrooms are dated and the toilet on the main floor was running when we got there the owners were quick to come fix it but afterwards it was hard to flush. I really enjoyed the property but not the premier property normally offered by VRBO.

Birthday Beach Babes

We decided on a whim to take our kiddos (and my parents) to the beach for a quick 72 hour trip. This property was great, peaceful, relaxing, steps to the beach. It could use a little paint update would be the only (kind of) negative thing to say. It was clean. I would book this stay again, hands down.

What a view,

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful week even with some less than great weather. The lower deck provides a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to the surf. We saw dolphins 🐬 every day and enjoyed the great variety of birds. Fishing just steps out the back door. This is a great house in a wonderful location. Very good communication from the care takers, no issues with anything.

Great location.

The house is great and you cannot beat the location. Steps from the beach and the fishing was good. The only thing I would recommend is good lighting needs to be added to the front steps. When it's dark it is very hard to see the steps. A member of our group fell and broke their arm. More light would have helped.

The staff was super friendly to helpful with an early check in that was very much appreciated. We were a little short on bath towels and forks for a house to accommodate 12 people and the cookware could use a little updating, but overall everything was functional and pleasant. I would stay here again, definitely recommend!
