The property was charming and in the perfect location in Old Town. The traffic can get noisy on the weekend, but otherwise it was everything we could ask for.
Charming, comfortable piece of history! After a long day of visiting Philadelphiaâs art a culture this was the perfect retreat! Our host was helpful, the location was perfect!
My family of 6 had a great stay. Awesome location, walking distance to all the sites and lots of restaurants. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to all questions.
Great house, nicely appointed, tastefully decorated, comfortable furniture, safe, peaceful area, easy to walk to so many places, easy to communicate with the owner. Would definitely stay here again.
The neighborhood was beautiful, the home is historic and lovely but with all the modern amenities. So many great restaurants and tourist sites are within walking distance. Highly recommend this place!
If you are looking to be close to a ton of historical places, this is definitely the place to stay. So many things within a short walking distance.
The property is very charming, but has everything you need.
If you are planning a Philadelphia trip - look no further - this is the property for you!
Property is really well situated, close to alot of the Philly locales. Really nice neighborhood, and the accommodations are top notch. Next I am in Philly will look to rent this again
Fantastic home located in a beautiful historical neighborhood. Area was extremely walkable and friendly. Within walking distance of Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
Duane was an amazing host, extremely responsive and friendly. Highly recommend.
Great house in a great location for our weekend away in Philly. Itâs located in a relatively quiet area in the city, lots of playgrounds and places to grab a bite to eat or a coffee nearby. Very family friendly neighborhood. House was very clean and beds were comfortable. The owner was easy to communicate with. Will definitely use this place again for future trips to the city!
This place was spectacular! We did a family weekend together. It was within walking distance of so many attractions. We didnât need a car. As others mentioned, the stairs are steep, but you get use to it.
Convenient to historic sites. Property was clean and Duane was very helpful with any issues. Steep stairs, but plenty of grab handles to prevent falls. Bathroom for each bedroom, but only one shower on the upper 2 floors. Cookware and kitchen utensils were adequate for meals. A great value for the money. Thanks, Duane!!
My family and I (including two small children) loved staying at Dianeâs property. It was clean and well stocked with anything you might need. Although it was cold, the outdoor patio is such a great feature. We hope to make use of it during our next stay! The home had ample space for our family and it was nice to have the office space as well, which could easily be a great spot for a pack-n-play. The stairs are steep like in most homes in the area but we had no trouble. There are railings and handles that are very supportive. Aside from the accommodations being great, the area is also awesome. It was walkable to a nice childrenâs park as well as shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Duane was a responsive host as well! We look forward to another visit someday!
This townhouse is well located and well suited for a viait to Philly. We walked easily to shopping, tourist sites and lots of good restaurants.
Note that the place is old. Its creaky and the stairs are narrow and steep.
It suites us to a "T."
Shout out to the owner who was available as needed and very accommodating.
Location is fabulous. Unit is cute. Stairs are a pain in the butt. I felt the listing and communication from owner could have been better. Listing states parking. Doesnât say 2 hours only, otherwise use parking garage or pay owner $30 for 15 day pass. Instructions for access key pad could have used more details. We had 3 couples arrive at different times. All had a lot of issues getting in. Thereâs a code. But numbers on access pad appear more than once. Entering the code isnât enough. You have to hit circle at bottom. Not obvious. Still took multiple attempts. Sheets on bed in basement not clean. Hairs, crumbs. Is trundle bed. Had to call to figure out how to pull it out. There are drawers that pull out but shelf that comes out to create bed not obvious. We had to wash sheets before using. Seemed to be limited towels for 6 people. Finally found remaining in dryer. During stay, one guest poured coffee in to a mug that had a crack. Entire bottom came off. Clearly secondary to defect in mug. Just received notice credit card being charged $20 for the mug. Beyond ridiculous. So petty. Wasnât going to leave a review because while loved the location, thought too many issues to recommend. Not great communication. Lack of attention to detail with sheets and towels. But overall neutral and felt best just to say nothing. Not endorse. Not complain. But the $20 charge for a mug that was clearly defective has compelled this review. No longer neutral opinion of this rental.
We went to Philly for a concert held at the Theatre of Living Arts, located about 4 blocks away from this rental. Not only is the house walking distance from the venue, it's in a safe and historic neighborhood, also walking distance to all of the Revolutionary Era sites and attractions. Street parking can be an issue, so we were happy to park our car in a nearby garage, and we walked everywhere. It's a fantastic location!
This is the best VRBO that I've stayed at: excellent location (lots of great Philly food within walking distance), 3 actual bedrooms (as opposed to listed 3 bedrooms but actually 2), clean, great amenities (espresso machine, laundry, fully stocked kitchen).
The only (very slight) downside was that we couldn't use the gas fireplace in the basement. Not a big deal at all!
We had a wonderful weekend at the house and it was in a beautiful neighborhood! We had some issues with the lock when we first arrived but Duane was available right away to help us resolve the issue. He was a wonderful host and very responsive throughout our stay. We definitely plan to stay here again!
A beautiful clean house in a gorgeous part of Philadelphia. Walk to sites and restaurants. Well equipped kitchen with nespresso coffee machine. Beautiful patio space. Beds comfortable. Only down side is very steep steps to each level. They do have good handrails and my 89 year old father managed it- but I wouldnât recommend for young children or older adults. Master suite very nice with good closet space. Lower level no closet to hang clothing and small bathroom. Overall we had an excellent stay and the host responded immediately when we had trouble opening the lock initially and it was immediately resolved. Thank you !
I am an avid world traveler with a keen sense for adventure. Along my travels I seek opportunities to explore new places through less traditional means of tourism. Finding unique spaces, paths less traveled and local perspectives has always been at the core of my approach.
This home is unique in many regards and offers a modern comfort through a historical lens. With much of the original design and materials still in place, this home gives a new sense of 240 years of history.
