1. This house has 2 hair dryers. One dryer in each bathroom. Bend down and you'll see them in the cabinet. They are not hard to find. 2. You must get prior approval for pets and pay a pet fee. You cannot secretly bring pets into this property. You paid the pet fee, not a penalty. 3. The rental is for renting guests only. This is a private house not a public meet-up. Insurance rules and city limits on guest count mean we'd be violating rules. The guest count was exceeded. I didn't charge you a dime extra for having to modify your guest count. 4. You never paid a penalty. You simply paid the pet fees for the pets you brought into the rental. You made a mistake on the # of guests on the reservation and that was corrected without penalty or additional cost. The pet fee you paid is not a penalty it is just the pet fee. 5. Nothing about this review is fair to me. I provided a lovely home and you are penalizing me for your own mistakes.

Thank you for your review; yes, the house is beautiful! The town is adorable too and I hope you enjoyed your stay. I am glad you enjoyed my custom-made King Bed and all the extra blankets and pillows provided. The large kitchen island and oversized leather chairs were great for you. And I know you loved the front porch with ample seating and the large backyard was great for your pup. The yard is not fenced and we don't have a grill; these things are clearly spelled out in the property description and if they were important you should have chosen a property with a fenced yard and a grill. Our gigantic yard is not fenced, making it much easier for guests to park their golf cart in the back yard. We have a lovely BIG yard, a large back deck, a wonderful front porch, and fun outdoor lighting. We have an extra-large washer and dryer available for guests in the laundry room which features a gorgeous custom beach mural. While we welcome you to wash laundry, we prefer guests do not wash sandy beach towels in our machines. Thank you for coming and enjoying our new, custom-built home which is exactly as shown in the VRBO description. As promised, I left you a glowing 5-star review!

This is Diana, the owner. It is absolutely true that guests cannot host a party, a post-wedding shin-dig or other event at my home. This is a rental cottage at the beach for paying guests. Non-paying guests are not covered by VRBO or insurance. The mattresses in the home include a $1400 KING 13" Eurotop Firm Sealy Posturepedic mattress, a $1200 QUEEN Serta Sleep True Alverson 2 Firm Mattress, and another $1200 QUEEN Serta Sleep True Alverson Firm Mattress with an $80 Memory Foam Topper, and two $730 TWIN Classic Cool Gel Memory Foam Twin Trundle Mattresses. These are new, quality mattresses that are not off-brand, are not old, are not damaged, and are not worn or sagging. As you pointed out, the house is NEW, CLEAN, and you had everything you needed. It's a great house and just minutes from the beach. If you require quality mattresses and a clean, new place to rent in Colonial Beach this is a great house to rent. If you require the ability to have a social or party or event, or if you wish to sleep on an old mattress, you might keep this in mind. Thank you for visiting and I'm so pleased you and your family enjoyed the town and our home. While you say you have "NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL", you did manage to note some. So I'd like to address those for future guests. This house is absolutely NOT in a dangerous or lower end part of town. That is insulting and inappropriate. This is a normal neighborhood with over 10 newly built homes in just the last summer, and several older homes as well. This is a diverse community and I sense there may be other issues at the heart of this dog- whistle comment. I'd like to also verify that I clearly state that there is only one TV in my beach home. It is in the description and amenity list. I make it quite clear that we don't provide TVs in bedrooms but we do provide a great WIFI signal so guests can use their laptops or phones to easily stream.

They automatically record video and audio, and then store it in the cloud. The cameras are only outdoors and for security use only. They also help when guests are not on the property so we can see when packages arrive or we can use them to help guests if they have trouble with the door lock or access code.
