Welcome to Pinebrook Retreat, located on 12 acres with exclusive neighborhood access to Dolly Sods, in the gated community of Old Timberline in Davis, WV. This beautifully furnished and fully equipped home offers three levels of living, four spacious decks, three fireplaces, one car garage plus parking for an additional 5+ cars, and plenty of private, wooded outdoor space. The home is just minutes from Timberline Mountain and Canaan Valley Resort, where you can enjoy four seasons of outdoor adventure such as hiking, skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, mountain biking, free outdoor concerts, horseback riding, and more. If staying in is more your style, enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of complimentary wine on one of the 4 decks. The home offers a well appointed game closet, dart board, mini-shuffle board, Nintendo Switch docking station and controllers, an extensive collection of DVDs, and many outdoor yard games. Come enjoy all the beauty and adventure the mountains of WV have to offer. Pinebrook Retreat has all you need and more!

Old Timberline-
A private, gated community located at the bottom of Timberline Mountain. You will have access to both Spruce Island Lake and Sand Run Lake, that offer fishing and kayaking (swimming is prohibited). There are numerous hiking trails within the community and direct trail access to Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.

**4-wheel drive required in winter**

Note: One week before the arrival date we will send the Timberline Rental Authorization Form to be completed and printed to check-in at the gatehouse and receive parking passes.

Beautiful home for a get away!

Amazing space with great amenities for a family gathering. Comfy beds and linens, well stocked kitchen, gas fireplaces were awesome, dining room table and bench were super for a gathering space, puzzles and games were fun, scenic views from every window, porches looked great as we stayed in winter. Cute decor. Excellent reply time from host.

House and property was amazing.

The house was amazing, clean, well kept and in a peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay, the property was amazing and had everyrhing to suit our needs. Communication with Jeremy was suberb. Would definately visit again!

Annual family vacation

We loved our stay at Pinebrook Retreat! The house is gorgeous, well planned/stocked, and had so many extra touches that amazed us. There was plenty of room to accommodate our 4 households. Jeremy is very easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to help us locate a few forgotten items, which we were very thankful for.

Beautifully maintained mountaintop getaway

7 women celebrating over 50 yrs of friendship reconnecting for a weekend. A yearly trip for us, this was one of our favorite places. Lovely home, so many thoughtful amenities never found in other rentals. The mountaintop setting was beautiful, especially if you want to watch deer. Owner was friendly and responsive to questions. Highly recommend, but be prepared for climbing gravel roads as a little tricky to get traction in two spots at bend in the road.

Best Experience!!!

The couple that runs this rental really knows what they are doing. They have covered everything you could think of. Fully stocked kitchen (bring own food of course), cleaning supplies, bedding, towels, game closet, movies, books, personal necessities, laundry detergent, dish soap……it’s all there. There were also just so many little things the owners did to make this a cozy rental that feels like home. The owner was also easy to contact and very responsive. We had 14 people in the house and we had plenty of space. Thank you so much for a great experience!

Very Nice Property

This was a very nice propery. It had everything we needed. However, the property listing stated it had direct trail access to Dolly Sods. The gated community had access to Dolly Sods, but not the property itself. Access to Dolly Sods was about a 10 minute drive from the house. Had I known the property did not have direct trail access to Dolly Sods access, I am not sure I would have booked the the property as we are a hiking goup in the area to hike Dolly Sods.

The house was better than described.

We stayed with 4 of our sons and their families. The house had everything needed plus. There were extra linens, a fully stocked kitchen, lots of entertainment and a beautiful location. It was very clean, & had plenty of cleaning supplies to use if needed. The weather was cold, windy and rainy so we didnt get to enjoy the outdoors but that didn't ruin our stay.....our grandsons are already asking to go back!! The home is one of the nicer homes we have stayed in. One of my boys was getting married in the area. The owner was very helpful in suggesting areas for the ceremony. He was very prompt answering any questions that I had.

Exceeded expectations

We stayed for a week with 4 adults, 2 teens, and 3 kids and had a wonderful time. The owners really went the extra mile - phone chargers in every room, extra towels and blankets in every bedroom and bath, a full spice drawer and other kitchen staples, knives that were actually sharp (!!), decent cookware and more than enough dishes and drink ware, a full puzzle and game closet, fast and reliable wifi - I could go on! We stay at a few similar houses every year and this is in our top 5 for attention to detail, cleanliness, and amenities. The location is also lovely - our kids spent hours exploring the property and playing in the woods, and it’s a very short drive down to the lake to fish or hike, and close enough to downtown Davis and Thomas to make a few trips for shopping or dinner (or a concert at the Purple Fiddle), and numerous hiking trails, horseback riding, kayaking, etc. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Great Place for the families

We three families went to Pinebrook retreat for the Thanksgiving holidays. The house is in a great location in the beautiful Monongahela National Forest area accesable to many tourist destinations. The saty there was a pleasent experience with plenty of room/ amnities for the group, some activities for kids. The hosue is beautiful and is located 3 miles from the gated main gate, and if snow is predicted it would be hard to get there purticularly driving with FWD cars and narrow road. Kitchen is nice with plenty of ammenities. TV's with firestick in most room, Wi-fi appears to be flashy attimes but works okay. The owner charged us for a missing fire stick charger which none of the family members have any clue where it went missing. Two major problems that we had were, 1. water randomly shutsoff in the middle of the shower or kitchen use and comes back few minutes later. We had experienced this a few times during three nights saty. 2. The outside propane grill is in patehtic condition with rust and years of waste collected pan and cover underneath. It was never cleaned and we had to clean that whole stinky stuff to use the grill. It was nasty. The other drawbacks, the nearest full grocery is 21 min away and a convneinet store/gas station 15 min, so please be fully prepared with everything you needed.

Wow, where do we begin, from first entrance to the home we were amazed ! Out stay at Pinebrook Retreat was just wonderful from beginning to end. Literally anything you need is provided by the owners. We had everything we could possibly need and MORE! The game room alone was hours of fun for our family- we checked them alllll out! Then there are the endless beautiful views, incredible location, privacy, comfortable beds, I could go on and on. You can see the love and attention to small details the homeowners put into the property from the heated bathrooms to the luxurious bar stools it was like a week of being spoiled that’s for sure. We even looked up the bar stool brand for our own home. There was an incident that occurred to no fault of the homeowner and they were quick to respond AND help, letting us know they truly cares about the wellbeing of our family. Thank you again for a truly memorable stay! This was a core memory trip for sure.

A wonderful winter getaway

This is an amazing house especially for a winter excursion, we had the coziest time over a weekend where we were lucky enough to get snow! The house is beautiful and very well thought out. Our kids and families loved it.

Family reunion

We had a wonderful stay with our family of 16. We appreciated all that was available for children - books, movies, Nintendo, etc. Having several gathering spaces was great! You thought of everything! We enjoyed the nearby adventures - Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, etc. Thanks so much!

We had a blast at the house. It kept our 5 kids ages 5 and under entertained during a rainy weekend. The house was beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Great Place for Skiing at Timberline

Extremely well stocked and plenty of space for a big group. Also had some lovely nice surprises. My group travels to WV every year for skiing/snowboarding and this was the first time we got a place without a hottub which made some of my group members sad. However, after staying there, the group agreed that this is the best place we have stayed in after 4 years. If coming in the winter, you definitely will be safer using a 4WD vehicle. The driveway was fairly steep.

Boys trip

I have stayed in many VRBO properties and this was by far the best stocked house. Absolutely everything needed was there. There were more spices then in my own house! I definitely would recommend staying here again!

Very Nice and Very Quiet Property

Home is very well equipped. The owners have thought of everything, including multiple games for the kids and lots of family friendly movies. The home is very clean and has everything you need.
