Cabanas Maracuya has been 15 years in the making. The designer, constructor and your host, Venancio has been building the six cabanas on the property over the years paying special care and attention to the placement of each plant and detail.

Each of the six unique cabanas feature a private bathroom and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a rustic, luxury feel. Amidst the lush garden covering the property is a shared swimming pool perfect for lazy days. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.

You will be within a five-minute walk to the beach – some of the best surfing in the world and just minutes away from local cuisine, markets, shopping and nightlife. Cabanas Maracuya is in the heart of La Punta, a neighborhood in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca – a 10-minute drive to the city center and bus station, and 15 minutes to the local airport.

Cabanas Maracuya is the perfect place for couples, explores, surfers, families and all-around vacationers to enjoy all that Oaxaca has to offer. Venancio takes pride in providing personalized, laidback service in his hometown – according to Venancio, there is no better place in the world than Puerto Escondido.

Rent an automatic scooters (2 available) at the Cabanas to enjoy La Punta to the fullest.

Some of the best things to do in town include dolphin, whale and other sea life sightseeing tours, turtle release tours, sport fishing (by boat, on the shore, or diving) and bioluminescence outings.

Visit our surf school - Punto Magico - located on the beach at La Punta (5 min walking from the Cabanas) to book a surf lesson, rent a surf board, book a surfing or fishing trip, do some shopping, or ask any questions.

If sports aren't your thing, relax on the beach with great food and cocktails at our beach club - Restaurante La Punta. We'd be so happy to have you!

Great place to stay!

My husband and I loved staying here. It was an awesome cabana that is just like the pictures, the bed is comfortable, and the space was very clean. It was also very close to many restaurants, bars, and the beach, but enough space where you don't hear noise at night. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect La Punta spot!

Our treetop cabana was a dream—private, open, quiet. Nice pool and umbrellas for the beach. Venancio was super helpful and accommodating—let us hang out while we waited for an afternoon bus at the end of our stay. Would totally stay here again.

Got there and our place was booked by Arbnb, so we didn't get the nice place but stayed in another spot with no attached bathroom.We paid the nice place.

tropical oasis

Excellent experience at Cabanas Maracuya. Venancio was very knowledgeable and helpful and went above and beyond for us. Our cabana was very private and relaxing, pool was refreshing and Mrs Reina(Nanny and house keep) took very good care of us. Overall this is a beautiful place to stay, close to the beach, with a beautiful authentic Oaxacan family. Veny, Sawyer thanks for the surfing and we will miss the pups, Rocky and Alpha.

Magical Beach Stay

We had a lovely stay at this amazing place! We felt like we were staying in an oasis as there were plants and trees tastefully grown to create walkway paths. Our cabana was elevated so it was like we slept in the treetops! Our hosts were very welcoming and offered reliable advice on nearby places to visit. Our bed was comfortable and our room had a/c for the nights. We appreciated the use of our kitchette and our own shower/bathroom. The thoughtful design of this property gave us the feeling that we were the only ones staying here. We walked to the beach and enjoyed the nearby pubs and restaurants but also loved the solitude of this amazing place! Thank you again to hosts for a beautiful experience.😊

Relaxing spot within a quick walk of the beach

Great environment to relax and recharge. The beach is a close walk, and there is a wide variety of stores, restaurants, shops, and bars within a 5ish minute walk. The immediate neighborhood down near the beach is definitely trendy and caters more towards the tourist crowd, but if that’s not your scene you can still find plenty of mellow, more locally-frequented spots nearby. Venancio and Reina are really helpful with anything you need or questions you have. The cabanas are close together but are very well set up so you still have a nice private space. The property is full of trees, which make it feel like your own tropical oasis. Would absolutely stay here again.

Friendly, Quiet and Clean

Great place to stay walking distance to everything from the beach and stores. The owner is always around if you need (but not in an annoying way) to help and is also very knowledgeable about the entire area including where to rent a surfboard at his shop down the street🏄😎. I liked the place so much that I already booked my next stay!!!! Gracias Venancio

We felt like home in the beautiful jungle! Erin and Venancio are very sweet people! It's the best option for those who seek peace and space!! Highly recommend!

Venancio has a beautiful family, many of which live close by. In his spare time, he loves to ride motorbikes with his son and spear fish with friends!
