This was the best condo our family has stayed in. The layout works well. Sand stays outside, living area with lots of room, and an easy functioning kitchen. The elevator was helpful when unloading and loading. Easy access to the pool and beach was hard to beat! Everything was clean and well stocked, and the pool was fun for night swims. The host was very helpful and provided timely responses. We booked this condo right away for next summer!

We enjoyed our time in the 101 bungalow. It's a great, open space with lots of light. We've stayed at the Sapphire many times and we think this is the best bungalow to rent. Plenty of space, great layout, big kitchen and a private pool.

We had the best time!! The luxurious bungalow was absolutely perfect! Beds were comfy, plenty of room for our family, wonderful amenities, and tons of sunshine! The beach was so amazing! We loved having all the little extras like beach chairs and a wagon. The private pool and hot tub offered our family privacy. We utilized the elevator, washer & dryer, air conditioner and all of the kitchen appliances. Everything was in perfect working condition! This was our 4th time to rent this bungalow…. And we’re looking forward to making our 5th stay… hopefully for our next years family vacation!

Awesome place in a great location

We just finished our stay at Luis' bungalow, and it exceeded our expectations. The place is large, airy, and very contemporary. The Sapphire resort is a great place to stay and is right on the beach. My kids loved the bungalow's private pool and hot tub as well as the large community pool. Luis was very responsive both before and during our stay; a wonderful host. We highly recommend his bungalow for a trip to South Padre Island.

Great condo for our family

Perfect condo for my family, 6 adults and 4 grandchildren. Very clean and neat and included everything we needed. Close to restaurants and grocery store. We had a bit of a learning curve with pool and jacuzzi but Luis was very prompt with guidance. If we return to SPI with family would definitely stay here again.

Hurricane Francine visit

We were visiting at the beginning of Hurricane Francine and while it poured rain outside we found plenty inside to keep us occupied. This is a great property and once the rain stopped we made full use of the amenities - gym, pool, spa and the wonderful beach. There are bicycles in the garage as well as beach toys. The owner was very accommodating and we will book here again.

Beautiful bungalow on the beach

This bungalow is absolutely gorgeous! One of the loveliest properties we have visited. The Sapphire property itself with the pool, spa, gym, beach, and easy 24 hour check in made our stay extra special. The home is bright and cheery with gorgeous windows and views. It is well laid out and perfect for our family of 8. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The private pool and spa was an added bonus. The resort pool was also beautiful and the beach was a short walk from the unit. Luis was quick to respond to all of my questions and needs. He was kind enough to give us restaurant recommendations as well. We will definitely be coming back to Padre in the future!

Excellent family vacation

We book the condo for our family of 10 and we not disappointed. Location was excellent and very convenient to everything (beach, shopping, fishing, and dining). The bungalow is amazing. It was stunning and fully stocked. Plenty of towels, kitchen essentials, and room. The pool was a super bonus. Kids went from the main pool to our private pool. Two car garage is so convenient. Luis the property manager was amazing. He helped us schedule a last minute fishing trip with my boys. He was responsive and would check in to make sure we were happy. Great customer service and very helpful. We will be back and recommend this location and Luis to anyone wanting a super experience.

The property needs a lot of updating. We went three days without a working oven which put a damper in our cooking plans. Dat 4 the owner did get a new oven installed but we were told we would be compensated for meals and that never happened. The stove takes a very long time to cook anything, the freezer doesn’t make ice, and the air conditioner cannot be set below 72 degrees. For paying 1k a night I should be able to make the temperature comfortable for my family. When we arrived a toilet was leaking and a plumber had to come. The leak saturated the entire bathroom rug. There were also quite a few bugs we had to kill. The location was great with easy access to the pool and was overall a very clean place.

Several issues

There were several issues with the property. First, jacuzzi didn’t work. It kept shutting down. Second, water heater didn’t work. It was either cold or extremely hot, you couldn’t get warm water to take a shower. Also, the kitchen sink didn’t work either. Water didn’t come out of the sink to wash dishes for example.

I am very sorry that the heating equipment did not work properly on the first attempt . We had this equipment replaced brand new and one of the systems had shut down . We had the issue fixed with in three hours of the reported issue . This issue was reported after 6 pm which is the only reason it was not fixed right away . We strive to provide an excellent experience which you can tell by our previous reviews . We are sad you have left only two stars as we did resolve all of the issues that comes with being the first group to use new equipment. This guest was very rude to management and ignored the community rules causing our unit to be written up . They also refused to check out on time not allowing the cleaning staff to enter and clean for the next guest .

Save your money

Rented this condo due to having a private “heated” pool and “hot” tub. When we arrived the pool had a dead bird and take-out containers floating in it and was a brisk, ice cold temp. When I notified the seller, he let me know he controlled the temp of the pool and hot tub remotely and I would have to let him know when to turn on the heater, I asked him to have it cleaned and to turn on the heater. Both were done about 12 hours later. He then let me know it would take 12 hours to reach its goal temp. The goal temp he had set for the hot tub was 89 degrees…..cool bath water. I asked him to increase the temp to 100—never happened in the week we were there. Never were able to enjoy the pool or hot tub. Thankfully, the resort had a great hot tub. Safety wise, the main floor balcony door has a broken lock and the door would fully blow open in the wind. Anyone could gain access to the balcony with a little effort and have full access to the condo. Cleanliness, hair in the shower at check-in. Dirty shower curtain. Nasty, thick dust on downstairs ceiling fan. Owner mostly texted me outside of the VRBO app, which I believe is against policy. Recommend renting an apartment in the Sapphire Resort condo tower (same resort the condo is located). Much less expensive and good amenities.

Thank you for your comments .. we have always had pride in our home and have rarely not received a 5 star review when guests stay . South padre island at time does get strong wind and colder temperatures in the winter and the pool is cleaned once a week on a schedule . When it is very windy things can fall into the pool. As soon as it was reported (after hours) we instructed the resort to clean pool and it was the first pool cleaned the next morning . The pool does have a heating option however if you want to heat the entire pool and not just the jacuzzi it takes time , the jacuzzi on its own can heat in about 1 hour . We apologize if the shower curtain was not to standard and have replaced this as it was not reported to us by you or any prior guest and have pride in our home for us and our guests . We have also notified the cleaning staff to pay special attention to the fans for any dust . We thank you again for your stay .

Great Island Getaway

This is a wonderful property with lots of space, great amenities, and great location. The private hot tub and pool allow you to have a quiet stay if you choose, while access to the large public pool, gym and other resort features give you plenty to do. Luis, the host, was very responsive and helpful.

Perfect in every way!!

If you are looking for a top notch beach property, this is it! We were super impressed with, not only how clean the condo was, but how well taken care of the entire property area was including the 2 pools and even the walkway to the beach. Wow! You could tell they take pride in the maintenance of their property! Luis was extremely attentive from the beginning! He even secured permission for us to get married right on the beach, just in front of the property! It doesn’t get any better with communication with a host! Everything you need for a trouble free vacation. Whether its stay at home and cook dinner or go out, this property makes it all super easy by being stocked with everything you need, as well as centrally located to everything! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

This home was perfectly set up with everything you could need at a home away from home. The owner was always quick to respond and happy to answer any questions we might have had. The set up and layout of the home was perfect for our group of 7 and had many places to spread out and play games or have quiet time if needed! Would book again and highly recommend to anyone looking to get away and have a little slice of South Padre!
