Lake access, association pool, beach and convenient ski home
3 bedroom, 2 bath home in quiet residential neighborhood association. Half acre property with woods, dog runner, parking for 4 cars. 90 second walk to association pool and kiddie pool with bunker house. Two tennis courts, kid play area and basketball net also at pool area. Beach with volleyball net, kayak, swimming and fishing about 1/2 mile from the home. Bikes provided or walk through the quiet streets to the water. Parking is available as well. Enjoy Fall foliage season or winter skiing! Shawnee Peak mountain (with night skiing, now called Pleasant Mountain) is about 1 mile away. North Conway ski resorts - Attitash, Cranmore and tax free shopping about 20 minutes from the property.
Lovely stay on Columbus Day weekend surrounded by beautiful foliage without the crowds. Description was accurate, and basement had no funny smell, as another reviewer claimed. Host was very responsive and notified me about the power outage before I had a chance to tell her. Power came on in a moderate amount of time--it was windy.
Main floor has it all! 3 bedrooms and a nice clean bathroom with walk in large shower. 2 separate living areas, a lovely fully furnished kitchen with stainless modern appliances and a center island. And best of all, both a screened porch and a big deck if you are there in the summer. The lower level has another sitting area with a television and bath. But older folk beware. The inside stairs going to main floor from there are very steep.
We had terrible weather while we were there and enjoyed every minute in this cozy friendly home!!
We had a wonderfully relaxing week at this fully-equipped property! It had everything we needed, and being able to walk to the pool was the icing on the cake for the kids. Needed to drive to the beach but it only took about 5 minutes, was never crowded, and we made lots of new friends there! Air conditioner in the living room and in one of the bedroom windows was plenty to cool the entire space. Beds were super comfortable and we had plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The kids loved the games and puzzles, especially cornhole and ladder ball we found on the porch. Air fryer and crock pot were kitchen bonuses, which was fully equipped with everything anyone could possibly need. Plastic plates and cups for the kids were great. We loved cooking on the grill, and using the fire pit outside for sâmores. Many homey touches throughout. Quiet, private home we will definitely be renting again!
For future renters. Beds are very low hard for older people to get out of, rugs are very slippery a rubber mat under them would have been better, we found the camp was not cleaned well I spent 2 hours cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, living room and one bedroom has a air conditioner, vacuum cleaners were dirty and one smelled of wit dog and vomit. Wi-Fi was good the 3 tv were fine, kitchen had everything you needed just not clean, the kayaks were fun to use. Was hopping to get the cleaning fee refunded. I guess not she blamed it on the renter befor us must have really dirty. NO Excuse
It is a nice house, with potential to be a wonderful place to stay. The 1st floor is the basement & garage that was finished with a TV room and bathroom. The bathroom on this floor was much cleaner and no plumbing issues. The the smell is very musty, but the owner did say they recently had water damage, so maybe that is a new issue. The kitchen would benefit from a deep cleaning and repair to the sink, example split sink has a broken garbage disposal on the right that backs up with water and stuff floats up from the drain when using the left side. Over that back up is a rusty dish rack that has and working side had a broken dirty the catch/plug. The 2nd floor bathroom had soap residue and hair still in it, there were cleaning supplies i used to resolve the issue I was just surprised it was needed. The shower faucet is also in need of repair.
The 2nd floor didnât smell as bad as the basement, but did not have a clean / pleasant smell.
The beds have comfortable mattresses but they are oddly low, below knee high, so can be a challange getting in and out if you have any mobility challanges. Also there is a horrible smell in the closet of the master bedroom.
The AC is 2 portable ACs 1 in a bedroom and 1 in living room. Ineffective durring a hot summer week. Lesson learned for me to ask more about AC details for future rentals because technically it was there but not what I expected at all. My error, not on the owners, but be aware if you book AC cooling poor.
Family of 7 stayed for the weekend and this home was perfect. Dog friendly and 10 miles from Fryeburg fair. It was rainy, but the available games kept everyone busy when we werent at the fair. The beds were all comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We will be back.
Barbara was very responsive to questions ahead of the trip and there was no need to contact her during our stay given the pleasant experience we had. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to relax in a home away from home.
Lovely, well maintained, well provisioned house with great community amenities: pool, tennis, basketball, beach, playgrounds, etc. The lake was farther than the posting would suggest, but it was a quick drive with ample parking. Skiing is super close by, will definitely consider returning in the winter.
Loved this charming house and the association. It was quiet, private, and great amenities. The house itself sleeps up to 8 and has great common spaces. We loved the outdoor screened porch. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake and a great (tough) hike at nearby Pleasant Mountain. Great spot and home - we will come back!
Newly purchased property and newly posted to VRBO -2021, owners are retired New Englanders, dog fanatics and enjoy sharing the property with others who enjoy the area and amenities.
