My only slight issue was the AC. The owner offered to install two window units. Just really didn’t wanna bother. We had a small AC unit in the LR. We were just not used to the humidity. Other than that it was very quaint. I would stay again for sure. Clean, cute and well stocked. Loved the outdoors. And the bathroom is small. I stayed with my daughter so it worked.

Wonderful stay at the cottage, we had all the comforts of home amazing property with lake views.

Enjoyed our time there our hosts were very attentive and responsive. The cottage was spotless and on park like property with lake views and just a short drive to beach.

Never Disappoints

This is my 3rd stay at Grandma’s Cottage and it didn’t disappoint. It’s quaint, convenient to all things Milford, Dover and the beaches. I consider it my home away from home when I am in the area. I’ll be back.

Perfect house for a small family

This house was perfect for exploring all that Delaware has to offer! Close to beaches and state parks and the house was extremely comfortable and clean. Will definitely be booking this house again for future vacations.

Lakeside Retreat

Could not be more pleased with our entire stay at Grandma’s Cottage. Very easy to access and was perfect homebase for multiple Delaware excursions. Owners were delightful and helpful.

Relaxing stay at Grandmas Cottage

Grandmas Cottage looks exactly like the pictures, but is bigger inside. I have to say every inch of this cottage was immaculate. The grounds and gardens are welcoming. The outside chairs facing the lake are a great spot to read, drink your morning coffee or watch geese and ducks. Stores and restaurants easy to find. Self check-in and basic rules for check out easy to follow. Kudos to Helen & Walter for providing such a comfortable place to stay. I highly recommend and would rent again.

Lovely retreat location

Cozy and comfortable. The cottage almost abuts the owner’s residence but it still feels private. The grounds are gorgeously maintained and wildlife abounds. The owners are available if needed but not at all intrusive. The cottage is well stocked with dishes and cookware, the beds are comfortable with attractive linens. Plentiful plush towels are a nice luxurious touch. Thank you for your hospitality!

Long R&R

We had two family functions to attend within three weeks. We stayed at Gramdma's Cottage and enjoyed the tranquility and hospitality offered by our hosts. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the hosts are friendly, generous and accomodating. We could not have a better experience! We will return! 😊

Wonderful property with wonderful hosts

This delightful little cottage has it all. The view of the lake out the back of the cottage is just lovely. You can watch the geese as they swim back and forth up and down Griffith Lake, with an occasional glimpse of herons, kingfishers, and other birds we could hear but not see. The kitchen is tiny, but very functional. I had all the utensils and pans I needed. The bed was very comfortable, as was the easy chair in the living room. I loved sitting in the chair and watching the squirrels and birds out the window. I built a fire in the chiminea three nights during my stay - the owners provided wood, matches, and starter to make it easy. I loved sitting in front of the fire while watching the sun set. I also went kayaking on the lake. They provided a kayak, life vest, and paddle! It was great! Slaughter Beach on the Delaware Bay is a 25 minute drive from the house; I took daily walks there to explore and enjoy the ocean. The owners were incredibly hospitable, attending to my every need, and anticipating anything and everything that would make my stay better, and help me be more comfortable. We hope to be back. This is such a lovely place; a perfect getaway.

Wonderful and relaxing few days at Grandma’s Cottage

March 29-April 2, 2022 - My husband and I spent a wonderful and relaxing few days at Grandma’s Cottage. The location was perfect for our stay. We were close to businesses, but felt away from any hustle and bustle. We were centrally located near the coast, Dover, Washington DC and more. We spent one day traveling south on the coastline, stopping in Rehoboth DE and on to Ocean City MD. Even though it was still off season, many seasonal things were starting to open up and it was not crowded. The next day we took a day trip to DC and took in some sights we had not seen on a previous visit. We spent our final full day driving again to the coast, this time to just walk the beach a bit. We then spent some time in Milford walking around the Mispillion Riverwalk, then grabbed lunch at ‘My Sister’s Fault’, which was absolutely delicious. We went back to the cottage where we spent an enjoyable and relaxing evening. Sadly the weather prevented us from enjoying the provided kayaks and it was too windy for a fire in the chiminea, but we still enjoyed our time there. The cottage had everything we needed with a kitchen fully stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We prepared a few meals and didn't need to purchase anything unexpected. It was refreshing having linens, towels, and other essentials provided. There were even a few extras that were a nice touch and appreciated. There wasn't anything we could think of that was missing. The cottage is nicely decorated, very comfortable, well cared for, and very clean. Helen was friendly, very welcoming, and had excellent communication. She would check in to make sure we did not need anything or if we had any questions. It was the perfect getaway for us and just what we needed. We would not hesitate to stay at Grandma’s Cottage again in the future.

Grandmas Cottage

This was a cute little cottage right on the water. Was perfect for our lacrosse tournament this past weekend and we would stay here again if we ever come back to DE for a tournament. Realxing evenings sitting by the firepit watching the water.

Warm, cozy and clean

Enjoyed my short stay of peace and quiet that I needed for a few days away to focus on a project. The place worked out just fine.
