Well-decorated home. Very close to town, and many homes in the area are âperiodâ homes. Lots of antique shopping, but make sure to visit the Time and Measurement Museum. Wonderful visit to a great little town.
Beautiful home. Easy check-in, responsive host, great location. Everything as described and just perfect for us. Thank you so very very much! Would love to book again!
La Belle Maison was a step back in time. The setting was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our coffee on the back porch. The house was appointed with everything we needed. Conveniently located within walking distance to the Gone With The Wind Museum and Lyons Park. Truly a gem to be enjoyed in Jefferson, Texas.
The moment we stepped into La Belle Maison we felt as if we had stepped back in time. The home is gorgeous, filled with period furniture pieces and decorated with beautiful artwork. The beds were very comfortable and the room temperature was easily kept comfortable with the central system in conjunction with some wall heating units in the bedrooms. Overall a wonderful stay.
We wanted to do a Christmas night in Jefferson to kick off the season and it was perfect!! Christmas trees decorated in all of the main rooms, the bedrooms were super cozy and the house is beautiful!
Had a wonderful stay. House is bigger than expected. Loved the tea and coffee bar! Bed was very comfortable! Very convenient to everything and in a quiet neighborhood! Will stay here again!
Gwyn was so accommodating. The whole process couldnât have been easier. Cutest home in the middle of town, easy access to all the fun. This was our second time visiting and staying here and we all loved it very much.
A great experience; property manager easy to reach if needed. Clear instructions on how to reach the home and itâs amenities. Would recommend highly!
Enjoyed the house. Great location. House was actually much bigger than expected. If I had any thing short of five star, it would be in regards to cleanliness. Floors were dirty, as well as countertops in areas. However, it did not negatively impact our stay.
I can't communicate well enough how nice this property is. Check in was simple. Everything we needed was present. The house and property are lovely. It's close enough walk to downtown Jefferson, which we did. We walked back at 1:30 am and you can't do that most places. Hardwood floors, tall ceilings, big back porch...it's fabulous.
We had a wonderful time at this property. Gwyn was easy to communicate with and made the process very easy. We had our âTill death do us partyâ at this home and it was perfect. The house is a lot bigger than i expected it to be. the pictures do not do it justice!
the only issue i had with this place was the cleanliness. there was bobby-pins on the nightstand from the previous guest and a few other little things like water bottles and cobwebs.
overall our stay was still very good. itâs a lovely place.
They knew we had 6 guest and only had one half roll of toilet paper. Only one bathroom and we ran out of towels first day.
Main issue is the house was hot and the ac quits during the night!
Master bed feels like a thin foam pad on a board. Very uncomfortable!
We are Hal and Kathy Poindexter and we are the owners of La Belle Maison. Although we are both in our seventies we are still pretty active at our dairy goat farm in Carthage, Texas. Our good friend Gwyn Weatherford has agreed to be the host of La Belle Maison!
The house is very centrally located in the heart of the Historical district and very convenient to restaurants and shops! If you want to experience the Victorian era and be surrounded with period decor, then this is the place to have that romantic getaway you have been dreaming about!
Please enjoy our Tea Room and try out several kinds of tea as well as coffee! Put on a fancy hat and pretend to be in the Victorian era! There is usually a wine bottle or two there for your pleasure! And if you look in the little freezer there are some little cakes and goat cheese you can pull out to thaw and enjoy! Take advantage of the nice big back porch to enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon tea or wine!
