Beautiful place. Carpets and hardwood floors were not clean so couldnât walk barefoot. The biggest concern that I had was the ramp coming into the back door. It needs desperate attention and repair. My 72 year old friend had an accident. Tripped and fell due to this ramp. It should be on your camera. Minor aches and pains and some bruises. Other than that it was a wonderful experience. Loved the decor and charm. Sipping tea in the morning off the back porch was my favorite. Also there was left over reminders that it wasnât cleaned after the last guests. I love the shower and all the goodies that were left. You have amazing water. Thanks again for a lovely adventure. I would stay again if it were cleaned and stocked. I shouldnât have to worry about cleaning or restocking on vacation. I did love it so. Thank you for sharing your home.
Well-decorated home. Very close to town, and many homes in the area are âperiodâ homes. Lots of antique shopping, but make sure to visit the Time and Measurement Museum. Wonderful visit to a great little town.
La Belle Maison was a step back in time. The setting was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our coffee on the back porch. The house was appointed with everything we needed. Conveniently located within walking distance to the Gone With The Wind Museum and Lyons Park. Truly a gem to be enjoyed in Jefferson, Texas.
Beautiful home. Easy check-in, responsive host, great location. Everything as described and just perfect for us. Thank you so very very much! Would love to book again!
The moment we stepped into La Belle Maison we felt as if we had stepped back in time. The home is gorgeous, filled with period furniture pieces and decorated with beautiful artwork. The beds were very comfortable and the room temperature was easily kept comfortable with the central system in conjunction with some wall heating units in the bedrooms. Overall a wonderful stay.
This was the perfect place to stay for Christmas. The house was decorated beautifully and you can see the Christmas park full of Christmas trees from the front yard. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were comfortabl..
We wanted to do a Christmas night in Jefferson to kick off the season and it was perfect!! Christmas trees decorated in all of the main rooms, the bedrooms were super cozy and the house is beautiful!
Enjoyed the house. Great location. House was actually much bigger than expected. If I had any thing short of five star, it would be in regards to cleanliness. Floors were dirty, as well as countertops in areas. However, it did not negatively impact our stay.
Gwyn was so accommodating. The whole process couldnât have been easier. Cutest home in the middle of town, easy access to all the fun. This was our second time visiting and staying here and we all loved it very much.
We are Hal and Kathy Poindexter and we are the owners of La Belle Maison. Although we are both in our seventies we are still pretty active at our dairy goat farm in Carthage, Texas. Our good friend Gwyn Weatherford has agreed to be the host of La Belle Maison!
The house is very centrally located in the heart of the Historical district and very convenient to restaurants and shops! If you want to experience the Victorian era and be surrounded with period decor, then this is the place to have that romantic getaway you have been dreaming about!
Please enjoy our Tea Room and try out several kinds of tea as well as coffee! Put on a fancy hat and pretend to be in the Victorian era! There is usually a wine bottle or two there for your pleasure! And if you look in the little freezer there are some little cakes and goat cheese you can pull out to thaw and enjoy! Take advantage of the nice big back porch to enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon tea or wine!
