We loved this property. Plenty of bathrooms with clean soft towels. Comfortable beds! Great location for a “home base” if you’re looking to drive out to see the beautiful upper peninsula of Michigan. I highly recommend staying here

The Olde Vic is a great house, especially for a larger group but also works well for a small group. The location is great. Mary is a great host!

My family has stayed in LOTS of rentals, and this is by far the one with the most attention to the details that will make you feel genuinely comfortable instead of just existing. Mary works with the quirks of Victorian architecture when she can and around them when she has to and provides all the little touches that made this truly feel like a home base away from home for our three generation trip. I have literally never seen such a well-stocked kitchen. Cooking for our eight family members who were staying (plus our two Michigan Tech students who came over for meals) was as easy as it would have been in my own home.

Oh my goodness, this property was absolutely perfect for our family stay in Houghton-Hancock. This charming Victorian home was impeccably clean, well-appointed and full of creature comforts making our 4-day stay comfortable and easy. The kitchen is so well-equipped, it made cooking for a large group simple and enjoyable. The views from the various sitting rooms and front porch are breathtaking. The deck and backyard are delightful - We wish we’d had better weather to utilize those more. Next time! We were able to host our Tech student and her friends for a dinner, and there was no shortage of seating at that beautiful dining table. We’ve already recommended Mary’s home to the new Tech parents we’ve met. We cannot wait to bring more family back to The Olde Vic when we visit our Tech student again. Thank you, Mary!

The house is beautiful, clean, and Mary makes communication so easy. We went to Copper Harbor and shopped, swam at beach in Houghton, antiquing in Hancock. Had a great breakfast 2-3 blocks away called Uncles. We had 4 children there under the age of 5 and had a birthday party, water fight, bubble gun war. We walked them to the park that is 1 block away each morning while my daughter in law ran the trail that runs along the water.

The home was beautiful and perfect for our group. The host was wonderful - easy to reach and responsive. I will highly recommend this VRBO to anyone I know looking for a place to stay in the Houghton/Hancock area.

Great location close to downtown Hancock. Beautiful Victorian Home with lots of open spaces for a large family to get together. Excellent kitchen with all the appliances you might need.

Beautiful house, in a great location for us. Mary was an excellent host. The house was probably the cleanest VRBO house we've ever stayed in, and was well stocked with paper products and toiletries. Would strongly recommend.

This house is so amazing! Anything you could need is provided. Thankfully 3 of the 5 bedrooms offered air conditioning units which was a lifesaver! Hope to be back again!

In town for Thanksgiving. We could not have picked a better home - very clean, spacious, with well equipped kitchen. Room for our family of 9. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful old Victorian house with a pleasant view over the water. Plenty of parking like the description says and a short drive to the beach to look for rocks!

Nordic ski get away

We would recommend the Old Vic to anyone. It offers all that anyone could need. The proximity to some amazing cross country skiing was our draw and it did not disappoint. All the comforts of home.

Our son was getting married in Calumet and this very large home was just perfect “base-camp” for our immediate family traveling into town. We could not have been more happy with the Old Vic. The owners/host have thought of everything. Wish we just had a bit more time to relax and enjoy everything this home had to offer. If we are ever back in the Hancock area, we will definitely stay here again.

This house is an amazing property for family to gather. Great kitchen that is very well stocked with everything you need. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The sauna is an excellent bonus. I didn’t want to leave!

Fantastic house

Beautiful large home, perfect for a family reunion. The decor honors the home’s history but includes upscale appliances and comfortable temperatures on all floors. Everything we needed was provided. We would love to stay here many times.

Family Wedding Weekend

This property was a perfect fit for our family of 10 which included an infant. The house was beautiful, well equiped, spotless and truthfully the best VRBO experience we have had. We hope we can stay here again. It was so nice to all be in one house, yet still some private space.

Our group stayed at the Old Vic for our annual great Bear Chase ski marathon weekend. We have stayed in many houses over the years, but this was by far our favorite. The old Vic is charming! The home is extremely comfortable, clean, inviting, and very interesting. It has an old world charm to it. We loved the location as well. Mary was an excellent host. She communicated extremely well. We had a treat of cookies and some fruit on the counter when we arrived. Everything was simply perfect and amazing. We also enjoyed the sauna as well as plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the group. We would definitely choose to stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful home.

Truly lovely house and whoever decorated it has great taste with fun attention to detail throught. It was well equipped with everything we needed and more. We felt really welcome. Great host - very responsive.
