This cozy log cabin is part of a 5-unit property located just across Portage Lake from Michigan Tech University and less than a mile from downtown Hancock and Houghton. Whether youâre visiting MTU, attending Winter Carnival, or just exploring the Keweenaw, this location puts you close to everythingâshops, dining, breweries, and events.
Youâll find excellent local food and drink nearby, from lakefront restaurants and microbreweries to coffee shops, burgers, and artisan pizza. Favorites like Keweenaw Brewing Company, Suomi Bakery, the Ambassador, and Studio Pizza are just a few minutes away.
The cabin offers direct snowmobile and ATV trail access, so you can hop on and ride straight from the doorâno trailer needed. For gear rentals, DB Motorsports is right next door with snowmobiles, pontoons, and jet skis depending on the season.
Inside, the cabin is private and fully self-contained. Outdoors, youâll have access to shared spaces like the hot tub, sauna, firepit, and game room. The environment is active and social, especially during peak trail season, and we (your hosts) live next door if you need anything during your stay.

Youâll have the entire cabin to yourselves with private entry. Youâre welcome to enjoy all shared spaces, including the hot tub, sauna, game room, firepit, kayaks, bikes (seasonal), and picnic tables by the lake. The beach is part of our yardâguests are welcome, though you may see us or others around. Thereâs plenty of parking, even for trailers.

We live next door in our own home, so we're nearby if you need anything during your stay. You might see us around the property or at the beach, but we always respect your privacy. Feel free to reach outâwe're happy to help.

Weâre located right on the snowmobile and ATV trail, so you can ride directly from your cabin without hauling. DB Motorsports is next door for seasonal rentals, and Mont Ripley Ski Area is just œ mile away.
We're also less than a mile from both downtown Hancock and Houghton, where you'll find local shops, breweries, restaurants, and cozy coffee spots. The cabin is also just across the lake from Michigan Tech University, making it ideal for visiting students, families, and alumni.
Nearby attractions include the Quincy Mine Tour, Dee Stadium, Bridgefest, and the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museumâplus plenty of trails, waterfalls, and scenic drives to explore the best of the Upper Peninsula.

Most guests get around by car, but once you're here, it's a quick drive to downtown Hancock, Houghton, and Michigan Tech. The snowmobile/ATV trail runs right by the cabin, so you can ride straight from your door in-season.
â No commercial use, subletting, or illegal activity allowed.
â Guest count must match the reservation. You can update it anytime before check-in.
â Only registered guests may access the property and use the amenities.
â No pets (including emotional support animals). A $500 fine and/or eviction may apply if violated.
â No smoking or vaping indoors. Outdoor smoking/vaping is fineâplease clean up. Cannabis is not permitted anywhere on the property.
â No outdoor musicâplease help us keep the atmosphere peaceful for all guests and neighbors.
â Late check-outs without prior approval may incur a $35/hour fee, as we need time to prepare for the next guest.
â ATVs & Snowmobiles: Ride only to and from the trail. Do not ride on neighboring private propertyâthanks for helping us keep good relationships with neighbors.
â Quiet hours begin at 10 PM. Please keep noise respectful at all times.
â No refunds for power outages or occasional issues with hot tub, sauna, appliances, internet, or game equipment.
â Breaking house rules may result in eviction without refund and/or additional charges.
â Above all: Be respectful, use common sense, and treat the space like home.
