Great cabin

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Had enough space for us all to relax comfortably. We will definitely be back to enjoy the snow fall in this house!

Amazing cabin

The cabin makes you feel like you are at the mountains. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 and our 2 pups. The yard is large and was really fun because the snow as still fresh. We had fun playing with the dogs in the snow. We relaxed in the hot tub after snowboarding, that was super refreshing. We had an awesome weekend here, the cabin was a great place to relax after a day at the mountain. I highly recommend this cabin.

Mountain escape - close to everything!

If you want to escape to the mountains for some fresh air & fresh powder this is the perfect place for you! Easily access Big Bear village for food, shopping & people watching or quickly get up to the slopes for fun boarding or skiing. Or stay in for a hot tub & movie night! A short walk from the house is a great sledding spot in the winter and hiking spot in the summer, it is popular with those that know of its existence but just far away enough to not be a bother. House is perfect for a family or friends looking for a relaxing get away. Enjoy!!

Fun Cozy Home

Great location and surroundings, easily walk to local shops etc. or stay in and get cozy to build a fire. Love the wood burning fireplace. Bed was very comfy, water got nice and hot and plenty of blankets. Some of the kitchen pots and pans could use recycling and felt a little odd about the stain policy for all white towels provided. Would suggest maybe changing color of towels if this policy is to stay in place. But overall great experience and would recommend!

Beware of the daily helicopter noise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were expecting a quiet, restful time at the Edge of Heaven. Unfortunately Big Bear Lake is installing a new electrical line over the next severa months, and they're using helicopters to deliver the parts. So from Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM until sunset, you're in an environment that is loud and annoying. The trip was ruined due to the constant noise. This should have been revealed in the information about the house, but it wasn't. The house was OK but it did NOT have a dishwasher - the first rental that we've ever had without one, and of course the house instructions say to put the dishes in the dishwasher when you left. So not a possibility to return to this house.

Great location, but...

The property itself is in a great location, if not extremely crowded. It was clean and looked amazing on first sight. Unfortunately, the first evening we were there the heater went out. A handyman came the next morning, but there was only so much he could do as the heater needed to be replaced. The owner's solution to this was not to get a professional out, but to send a few space heaters, we were only allowed to use 2 so the breaker didn't trip. I should mention it snowed while we were there and it was downright cold in the cabin, even with fireplaces. So we made it work, but needless to say worrying about keeping my family warm in a cabin I payed $$$$ for 2 nights, was not so much fun. The queen bed downstairs was fairly comfortable if not super bouncy, but the bunk beds upstairs were un-usable due to the condition and unsteadiness of them. We really wanted to love this cabin, but unfortunately it fell flat in those aspects.

Location good...house, not so much.

The house was spacious but filled with huge, uncomfortable furniture. Carpet was hideous but we were made aware, on the morning of our check-in, that carpet cleaner was a no show. Couldn't sit on the outside deck as there were no cushions and the furniture was metal - and it's August. Several of the windows didn't work properly - it's August and there was no AC to compensate. Main bedroom had one window located about five feet from neighboring house - very dark and claustrophobic. I slept in upstairs bedroom (shower didn't work in the bathroom), which was light and airy but only one window worked and it had to be propped up; the ceiling fan helped. The agency handling the house called day three and asked how the house was, and they offered to move us to an upgraded house. For health issues. we decided not to pack up food, clothing and dog and move again as we only had three full days of trip left. The best thing about the experience was the agency handling the house - they were great.

The shower handle that was a little tight and has been addressed and works great. Windows are working well. We ask all guests to let us know at the beginning of their stay, of any concerns, so that we can address any issues that arise. We are sincerely sorry that we were not informed about these issues as we would have easily addressed them on the spot for you both, to help make your relaxing retreat in the mountains, more relaxing. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: In Dec, my little family and I rented this cabin for a little Christmas trip. I was so nice to walk in and see it decorated for the holidays. It made us feel at home. They even had a tree. The decor in the rooms was fit for the holiday season as well. It’s a two story & the upstairs floor was perfect for my kids. I have a little one of 4 years old, so I didn’t want him to feel alone. The room has bunk beds and two queen beds, along with its own bathroom. It was nice and spacious. I liked that the room downstairs had more privacy for my boyfriend and I. It wasn’t snowing then, but I decided to get this cabin again in the beginning of march. It was perfect. It rained and snowed all weekend. It was perfect because right at the corner is a national forest area with a parking lot, for people to play in the snow and ride their sleds on the littleHills. It was walking distance so we took a little walk and had some fun in the snow. The back yard is nice and big for a dog. The cabin is a log cabin which I absolutely love! It has a fireplace, which we lit all weekend. Just be sure to bring your own fire wood. The only thing, make sure to take turns while showering because if not, the hot water in both bathrooms will run out quick. There were a few spider webs at the very top of the roof, which is understandable and seemed hard to reach. Nothing major. Other than that, it’s a beautiful cabin. I’ve rented it twice and still would like to rent it again. It’s nice and cozy, close to stores, downtown village, and slopes. Great get away for the family.

Good winter cabin for a vacation with small children

The cabin was lovely and rustic. They had many games for our children to play and the hot tub was lovely at night and easy to access. The cabin was just across the street from good sledding to walk to with our kids. The kitchen was well stocked and had just about everything you would need, including thoughtful touches like take away containers for you to bring home left overs in. There was no dishwasher which I didn't initially note on the description but that is easy enough to deal with. The cabin says it only has starter supplies but there was more than enough toilet paper, paper towels, dish soaps, and detergent to last my family for the week. There are some minor repairs that need to be done like a running toilet upstairs and a shower door the is not on hinge but nothing that really was an inconvenience at all. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

PERFECT GET-A-WAY

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is hands-down our favorite cabin out all the ones we've stayed at in years past! So well done, vaulted ceilings, wood cabin feel with adorable bear accessories, kid area upstairs, master on the bottom, a perfect layout. The only complaint would be the charcoal grill out back does not have a handle on the lid - so we were not able to BBQ our steaks! The rocking chair in the Livingroom had a previously broken leg, but we left it alone. We would gladly stay here again and hope to do so next winter! Thank you for making us feel at home in your home, we had a great time!
