Historic Church Building Converted to a Home

Be among the first to visit the recently renovated Old Lansing Church. This property was converted in 2020-2021 from a church to a private residence. The space features 16' vaulted ceilings, all original hardwoods, original stained glass windows, and many other original features.

The Old Lansing Church is listed on the United States Department of the Interior's National Register of Historic Places as a contributing structure.

The entire sanctuary and former pastor's office is now living space. 2 bedrooms, an office with a daybed, and a large living/dining/kitchen are yours to use. You will have use of the entire living space during your stay.

This was a very nice property that was not overrated or overpriced. It was clean with nice amenities. The next door neighbor was very friendly and a delight to meet as well. We will come back again one day as time and availability permit. Thank you for sharing your sweet treasure!

Very fun stay! Such a unique experience and cool place for a small family to spend the weekend. The former church was updated very well, we really liked how open it was too. So close to the town of Lansing which has some good places to eat and shop and a great park along with the Lansing Creeper Trail.

We absolutely loved our stay! The church has been beautifully converted into a home, and it’s such a unique and special place. The location was beautiful, the house was comfortable and welcoming, and you could tell that so much thought and attention went into every detail.One of the things that really stood out to me were the little personal touches. When we arrived, there was a welcome sign with my name on it waiting on the kitchen counter, along with a basket of water and chips. It was such a simple gesture, but it made us feel so welcomed from the moment we walked in.The entire place was beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully done, and you can tell the hosts really care about making their guests feel at home. We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique, and memorable place to stay!

Hi. Overall stay was nice. Was surprised that we ran short on hot water with only two people. Great location. Too bad no porch or covered area to sit outside when raining.

The historic church building has a new 40 gallon hot water tank. There is no covered outdoor/porch space. There is a shade tree & outdoor swing. We appreciate the feedback & hope you come back.

We really enjoyed our stay! The Church had an oversized living area that was perfect for relaxing together and the location couldn't have been better -- close enough to Lansing for walking for dinner and walking to get groceries in the grocery store that just opened back up. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group of five to spread out and feel at home.The only downside was a few flies that found their was inside, but overall it was a great stay and we'd definitely consider returning.

Exactly as pictured...lovely!

Such a beautiful, spacious place to stay. This was a small family trip and our 6 year old absolutely loved that we stayed in an old church. Beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Well appointed kitchen. Great food and drinks within sight of property. Highly recommend for a comfortable, unique place to stay!

Mission Team Work

It was perfect. We worked at the Phoenix Nest organizing thrift store. It was within walking distance to the store and park. After working we came back to the beautiful house to relax and rest after a long day of working. It was a rewarding trip for our church mission team. I would definitely stay there again.

Everything we wanted and needed

We were visiting friends in Lansing on short notice for a weekend. This newly renovated property was everything we needed. It is charming, airy and well equipped. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and addressed our questions thoroughly. Its open floor plan makes it a great place for hanging out with friends. We would not hesitate to come back!

We were there for a wedding held in Lansing. The church is awesome! So nicely remodeled - very charming. Clean and convenient. We l loved it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us! Only suggestion - a hand rail at the door would be helpful since the stairs have settled.

The stay was great, a little noisy. There were goats and dogs barking all night and was a little concerned about the access for elderly people or people that's hard to get around. There was no handrail and no handicap entrance, but as for just a couple stain it was absolutely amazing. It was just some family members of ours that had a hard time getting in and out of the church. But I would definitely stay again

Beautifully Renovated

I absolutely love this church! It was so beautifully renovated for all the modern conveniences. Lansing was pretty badly hit by Hurricane Helene, so rebuilding is still in the works. Jefferson is about 20ish minutes down the road with a cute downtown with restaurants and shops. This was the perfect place for our trip to the Grayson Highlands. We will be back for sure, but next time I will stock up on groceries and cook my meals and prepack for our hikes. The kitchen is fully stocked for anything you may want to cook up. It really is a great place, with everything you need to be comfortable away from home.
