Creek front family friendly rustic log cabin in the heart of NC wine country
Step back in time in our rustic log cabin. This unique cabin was hand built from reclaimed tobacco barn-wood. Beautifully nestled on 3.6 acre with over 500ft of bold creek frontage, this is truly a nature loverâs paradise.
The cabin features accommodations for six. The primary bedroom is on the first floor with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom. The upstairs lofted area has two queen beds and a full bathroom. Downstairs is an open concept living area nestled around a beautiful stone hearth. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need.
Outside you will find two inviting porches both equipped with swings and rocking chairs. Our magical fire-pit is the perfect place to make new memories. We have created blazed trails throughout our acreage to explore everything this property has to offer. The true gem is of course the creek. Sit on our creekside deck and enjoy the beautiful sounds of the rapids.
Located in the heart of NC wine country our cabin is the perfect place to stay and explore everything Yadkin Valley has to offer. Shelton Vineyard is a mile from our cabin and offers wine tours, events and has an upscale restaurant on the grounds. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains there are four state parks within an hour of Lucky Lodge. Pilot Mountain and Stone Mountain are the closest both within 20 minutes. World famous fly fishing is also only minutes from the cabin door. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short 25 minutes away where you can discover one of Americaâs most iconic byways. Historic Mt. Airy is only 20 minutes away where you can experience Mayberry and the nostalgia of yesteryear.
This is a rustic log cabin in the woods. Please be prepared to perhaps encounter wildlife, bugs, an occasional mouse and sometimes the smells of the surrounding farms. We canât wait to welcome to Lucky Lodge.
Please note we do not do same day departures/arrivals. We require 24 hours between bookings so please take note of existing rentals when selecting your dates. We look forward to hosting you.
Our family had a great stay in Dobson! The cabin was a perfect getaway to both relax and also enjoy the outdoors. Kids loved the creek. :) Would highly recommend!
Cons: First of all, front porch where you step up is not safe. There are rotting and broken boards that are definitely a tripping hazard. There was only one dishwasher tab and dish soap was virtually empty. There were dirty coffee grounds in coffee maker and coffee cups were not clean. Cabin needs a thorough cleaning, as there was a lot of dust and window sills were nasty. Outdoor grill is not usable, because needs to be cleaned and nothing to clean it with. Firewood for firepit was uncovered and placed far away from firepit. Also, the extension cords for firepit lights are loose in the yard and a tripping hazard. Overall there is not enough attention to detail and safety concerns.Pros: Cabin was well stocked with linens, beds were comfortable, antiques added to ambiance, enjoyed reading history of cabin.
The Lucky Lodge is such a cute getaway. The two beds and bathroom upstairs were perfect for the kids while we stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Fire pit, cornhole, porch swings, and the quiet made it wonderful. Checkin was easy and I had clear communication with the host throughout the process. He was so helpful and pleasant to deal with. I do recommend driving into Mt Airy for the Bear Creek Candy Shoppe alone! Oh my it is the best!!!
Wee came to relax and hike and enjoy the winery! We had a wonderful time! The cabin is set off in the woods for privacy! The cabin was clean, well stocked and very comfortable! The host was great with communication and attentive to our requests. I think summer and fall are the perfect times to rent this cabin!
It was just perfect for a Dad and 4 teenagers wanting to get away for a few days. The cabin was as advertised, it is completely stocked from kitchen to linens, board games fire wood and more. Very quiet private and a coupke of trails. There are some beautiful state parks around which we took advantage of during daylight. I recommend it.
We spent christmas 2024 here and it was perfect. The cabin is so quint and comfortable. I sat in front of the fireplace a lot, reading, and my husband and our boys enjoyed exploring the creek. We will definitely be back.
Visited the area for the first time! We were attending a wedding in Winston Salem and decided we wanted the mountain feel. This property did not disappointment. We loved venturing out for our first trip in Mount Airy/Mayberry too! It was perfect!
I loved this cabin. Its was just as described a very rustic cabin. It was a little dusty on the porches and inside wood walls, but its hard to clean unfinished wood. The seclusion was wonderful. Our favorite part was was the fireplace. The chimney pulled wonderfully letting us a beautiful fire. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved the area.without the smoke.
We had to switch around our trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains after the devastating hurricane hit the Asheville area. Ryan was able to accommodate us last minute and was great to work with. The cabin was just what we were looking for with a nice location to get around to lots of activities.
Our group chose to stay at the cabin at attend the Mayberry Truck show in Mt Airy. The cabin was a quick and easy drive to Mt Airy. We absolutely loved the back porch and rocking chairs. We spent our evenings out there hanging out and talking. Very comfortable!
OMG, it was amazing ! From the time we arrived until we left! Loved walking the trails and hanging out at the Creek and fire pit! Will come back! Loved loved lovedâŠ
Great experience. Loved the rustic feel of the log cabin. Having coffe on the porch every morning with nothing but the sound of nature was very peaceful. The beds were comfortable also. We would stay here again.
We stayed here so we could visit Mt. Airy. Not only was this home close enough to that but it was so much fun on its own! I loved the location, in a little slice of woods surrounded by corn fields. The drive in is beautiful! We had everything we needed (Although with 3 young children a dryer would have helped. We washed a load of clothes and they mostly dried out before the rain came.)
It was a Wonderful place to stay, with Beauty all around us!!!! We Loved the comfort of the cabin and the peace of being in nature!!!! Made several trips to Mt. Airy which was the main reason for our trip. We wanted to check out MAYBERRY, and remember Andy Griffith and visit the museum!!! The cabin was Great and the beds slept well!!! Also enjoyed watching old shows like Andy Griffith and also Sanford and Son!!! It was so peaceful here and we Loved sharing all theses experiences as a family!!! May GOD BLESS YOU!!!
