Cozy Lakefront Cottage - Gorgeous Views of Lake Huron!
Enjoy a getaway at this cozy, lakefront cottage ten minutes from downtown Lexington. Two bedrooms (one with king bed and second with two queens) and a shared bathroom with shower. New hardware floors in both bedrooms. Fully loaded kitchen with a 6 seat dinning table. Large lakefront yard perfect for outdoor games, roasting sâmores at the fire pit or an afternoon bbq!
*Due to rising water levels, there is not water/beach access on the property. Public beach access at less than five minutes away at Jeddo Road Beach. Lake port State Park 7 minutes South.
Stayed for a week. Clean, nice location and view. Firewood and Propane provided. Only drawbacks to this property, no onsite laundry. No sandy beach access. Would recommend if you want a place to BBQ and relax, which is what we did.
Although a few small updates could be done, (closets hard to open and shower is small) we had an amazing time. The view of the water was stunning, close to downtown Lexington, shops, restaurants.
We will for sure come back!
The view couldn't be better! The house is nicely updated, clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable. The home was clean and nicely stocked with all the essentials.
There is a grill and a nice fire pit.
The only minor drawback is that the step to the door is a little high (8"+/-). It would be not be a problem for most people, but may be difficult for someone with mobility issues. We had no problems.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here. Its down right near perfect, the view of the water, night or day is absolutely beautiful. Checking in was a breeze. I can't say THANK YOU enough to the host Sarah. We had to change the dates of our original booking last minute due to an unfortunate passing of a loved one in my family. Sarah was so helpful and understanding. She rescheduled our dates without issue, and was so sympathetic. My husband and I will absolutely be back, and would recommend this gem to anyone interested in staying in Lexington.
The cottage was filthy and in disrepair. Bugs everywhere. My husband had to clean the window that looked out to the lake. It was covered in black bugs. We had trouble reaching the owner and when she finally called she told me the place had been updated but I canât figure out what was updated. It did not look like the pics. I took pictures to prove my point. We are very disappointed as we have been at home a long time with COVID. We arenât going to rent from VRBO again
This is a great property and great location for a bit of peace and quiet. The host is fabulous and the property is always clean and welcoming. We have stayed here multiple times and plan on continuing to return.
Home was immaculate and decorated beautifully.
We had a great time relaxing by the fire, grilling and playing games on my birthday weekend. This is a wonderful property. My only wish is that they would allow up to two dogs. I had to put one of my dogs in doggie day care and we missed him!
Beautiful location since right on Lake Huron. Very peaceful to sit on patio looking out over lake. However, house needs a deep clean inside and out. There was a lot of dirt noted in the windows after opening and a lot of dead bugs on outside of windows. The structure of cottage is old. For example, areas of floor in first bedroom give way under carpeting. Too many electrical wires because of limited outlets (concerning). Musty odor and an indoor cricket problem. Building needs some TLC.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
What was wrong
Got tired of killing crickets. The remotes available did not match the ones in the Welcome book. The toilet seat was loose. The toilet paper holder was ready to fall off the wall. There was a soft spot under the carpeting. The property manager never returned my call. We left a day early.
My wife and I enjoyed our little get way in our well appointed, cozy, cottage. Tastefully decorated, comfortable furniture, comfortable beds and ample supplies. One can tell that this cottage has been a labor of love. There are little hints that this spot in paradise is becoming. There are a few dipps in the floors and the small shower could use some more water pressure, but all of this is overshadowed by the amazing view of the lake. I felt like we had a great time and took some amazing pictures. Like many of the places we have visited on the lake, the internet is not strong and we had poor cell phone (T Mobile) reception. I left such a detailed review because I use reviews to help in my choosing a place to visit. Inspite of some of my sincere observations, we highly recommend this little piece of paradise.
Perfect location steps from the lake. We enjoyed watching the waves and seeing freighters. Easy distance to both Port Huron and Lexington for shopping or dining.
The cottage had all basic needs. The bed was quite comfy. Wifi and Roku for those wanting to be connected.
There are neighbors, but the property still feels fairly private. Set back from a main road, the area was fairly quiet and restful.
Bonus points for being dog friendly which allowed us to bring our fur baby.
Furnishings are somewhat run-down. There is no direct lake access. A vacuum cleaner would be a helpful addition. None if which are deal-breaking--just good to know before hand.
Overall we give 4 star. The place could use a bit of TLC, but that being said, it offers good comfort and great location. We do not hesitate to recommend and hope to stay again soon.
Non-pretentious cozy cabin on Lake Huron, enjoyed that the space was open with exceptional views and dog friendly! The kitchen contains all the pots/ pans and utensils needed along with a handful of basic spices. Bring your toiletries and kick back get cozy and enjoy the stay with an impeccable view.
This is an updated cottage on Lake Huron between Pt. Huron and Lexington. We had awesome weather the entire 2 weeks we were there. We were able to see the PH to Mackinac Sailboat Race from our lakeview chairs!
Sarah, the host, was prompt with communications before, during, and after our stay.
The cottage has wonderful beds--2 queens and 1 king. They were very comfortable. AC units worked well. We were fortunate to have "perfect weather", so the cross ventilation with windows and doors open was an option for us.
Nice kitchen appliances are furnished. The gas grill outside the kitchen door worked for our meals.
There is a fire pit overlooking the lake. That was the best part of the evening. Watching the moon rise and SO many stars and planets in the night skies. The horizon wakes up with lights on the shores of Canada and Pt. Huron. Lots of family conversations around the fire making smores.
Fun places to visit in Lexington and Pt. Huron surroundings.
The owners call it their "Paradise". We agree and have already booked for next year.
We enjoyed our stay and had family come for a bonfire. Too bad we were unable to access the lake. We enjoyed the coziness of the house and left a couple nightlights and some small candles for others to enjoy. Allthough it's never just like home, but it is very comfortable. Would definitely come back.
