Ideally located close to the millennial city of Bayeux and only a few kilometers away from the American D-Day beaches, Le Clos de Blisse offers the perfect base to discover the historical and cultural treasures of Normandy.
Juno Lodge, Utah House and Omaha Mansion are the three guesthouses available within the 8-hectare property. With no vis-Ă -vis, each benefit from its own private garden and terrace.
All are state-of-the art renovations of 18th century buildings dating back from the French Revolution. Whilst retaining many original features, they provide the highest modern comfort (underfloor heating, wifi, apple tv).
Overlooking the water and the surrounding Norman countryside, the swimming pool and sauna will make of your holiday the most relaxing stay. Swimming pool open from beginning of May until end of October.
Great experience! Host was very helpful, informative and friendly. Tranquil, quiet and very private. Beautiful buildings and scenery. We will definitely come and visit again.
Samuelle was the perfect host, very helpful and responsive. The house was beautiful and the swimming pool and pool table were very popular. It's very well situated for all the Normandy sights. We had a lovely holiday.
Wonderful Family Holiday with children and toddlers!
A very warm welcome by Sam, the host, awaited us upon arrival at her beautiful home in Vouilly. True to listing details, the âluxury guesthouseâ, was exceptional in all respects- French country charm at its very best- tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Loved the rustic touch of the fully stocked kitchen.
What a peaceful country setting- village church bells ringing; white doves cooing and crickets singing as evening came! Buddy the dog stole our hearts. The enclosed, spacious garden- with a park area- was ideal for our little ones to run around freely and safely. The swimming pool certainly took first prize! Such luxury!
The house is ideally located for visiting the historic D-Day sites: the American Cemetery at Omaha; the military Museum; the landing beaches⊠âLest we forget!â The Sunday market at Port en Bessin; the toffee factory at Isigny âsur-Mer and Bayeux all visit âmustsâ . So much to do, such little time.
Sam is a very friendly and helpful host ânothing was too much for her, even sharing a little of her evening meal, tasty beef cheeks and champagne. What a chef! What a photographer! Her artistic work â family portraits and gilded country scenes are simply outstanding!
Samâs property is within easy reach of Cherbourg and Ouistreham ports. We highly recommend a visit! We would return!
We loved the Omaha mansion, it was the best place for our family to spend a week. Samuelle, the host, gave us a warm welcome The weather was stormy and wet, but it was warm and cozy in the house. The fireplace was warm. The kitchen was great with its ovens, we used it every day. Everything was very good.
This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. The owner, Samuelle, has thought of every detail, making it a home from home. There are toys for the kids, plus they really enjoyed playing pool and feeding the ducks. The swimming pool is in the barn, which is was nice for the kids to avoid the sun. We had an amazing time!
We loved the house (Omaha) and surroundings. Perfect for our family holiday. Samuelle was the best host and we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Thank you.
Samuelle is just wonderful host, kind, cheerful, responsive, helpful ... Moved the beds inside the house to accommodate our needs.
The house itself is SO beautiful, the design is spotless. Itâs such a joy for eyes, every detail (literary) is thought through and chosen with great taste, charm and delicacy. And anything and everything you would ever need is there. Pool and sauna are so cute and perfect, garden, animals, morning boulangerie deliveryâŠ. bref I want to go back :D. There is few houses on the property, but we never felt it, and pool was never crowded. Thank you Samuelle!
I ll make sure to come back again
we found a lovely place for us, two families with teenage and adult kids. Lots of space, also private in a beautyful property in an as beautiful landscape.
The old buildings have been renovated with great care and style. All the facilities were perfect for us.
Our host Samuelle was the perfectest host you can think of. Always of great help providing a very natural and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks a lot for a perfect week.
We had a wonderful 7 night stay here; 4 adults, 1 young adult and 3 young teenagers. The property is well located for exploring the Normandy countryside and the D-Day beaches. There's also plenty to keep the younger ones occupied with a swimming pool, large garden and pool table. The only minor drawback for us was the patchy internet connection, but that is down to the remote location; upgrading the internet supply was something that Samuelle was enquiring about while were there. Speaking of which, our host Samuelle was an absolute pleasure to deal with - nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to ensure we got the most out of our stay there. This was our first holiday in France - a country we are keen to see much more of now, and one day we intend return to Le Clos de Blisse. Absolute bliss.
We could not have asked for a better vacation rental property. Exactly as advertised. Samuelle was the best hostess, providing us with anything/everything we needed. Very hospitable. We also used her services for a tour of the Normandy beaches/sites, which was outstanding. She takes as much pride in American soldiers and their sacrifices as we as Americans do. It was a very enlightening tour. We could not have asked for a better vacation.
Fantastic Holiday with children/toddlers - beautiful place, amazing host
We stayed in Omaha Mansion for our holiday, it was a beautiful house and a great size (we had 2 families with toddlers/baby). Samuelle couldn't have been a better host, she lives on site and that is amazing for help/questions. We had fresh croissants delivered every morning and even extra high chairs purchased to help with the children. She went above and beyond so thank you Samuelle.
The house was beautiful inside and out. Very well maintained and very easy with the children. The rooms are large and well done, bathrooms are great, kitchen fully stocked with great appliances, good lounge space and great eating areas inside and out. We will certainly be returning back here and might even try the other houses which are on site. We enjoyed swimming in the pool with the children, playing on the outside play swings/slide, seeing the cat/goats/doves/ducks and going around the lake on the boat. Great holiday, great location and fab host - what more could you ask for!!!
The OMAHA house was a.wonderful place to spend a week in Normandy. The house was spacious and well furnace. One of the best feature was Samuelle the host. She was extremely helpful and VERY responsive to our needs and emails. It was a wonderful week.
Samuelle lives on the property at a distance of the 3 guesthouses. She is available for any assistance you might need, and is happy to discuss Normandy and French culture.
Samuelle spent ten years living in England before returning to Paris and finally settling in Normandy where she has restored Le Clos de Blisse for the past ten years.
Graduate in History of Art at the School of Le Louvre and Dr in Anthropology from Cambridge University, she teaches for the American Universities in Paris and has obtained the title of National Guide and offers tours for the D-Day Landing Beaches.
