This 3 bedroom, 1 full bath, 1 1/2 bath cottage features sleeping space for 6. Living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom with 2 twin beds, updated bath, laundry facilities and half bath all on first floor. Upstairs you will find a large bedroom with king size bed and second bedroom with 2 twin beds. Covered porch, patio on lake side of cottage. Very private, treed setting. Very wide lake frontage with dock. Many families have enjoyed their summer vacation here and return year after year!
We've stayed at the cottage many times over 15+ years. Lots of privacy and quiet for a lake environment, the adjoining cottages are 50 to a 100 yd away. There is nothing fancy about the circa 1880 cottage or furnishings (aside from the large modern bathroom and laundryrooms). The attraction is the location and view. There is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating. Sunsets from the seats at the end of the dock are great. It is a very large lot with lots of places for kids to explore, if they aren't using the watercraft or swimming off the dock, which was weed free.
We had a terrific time! The cottage was very clean and comfortable.. The kitchen has lots of counter space and is well stocked. The beds were very comfortable too. It was nice being able to walk right into the lake without any steps. Will definitely come back.
Great lake front property! Had everything our family needed for a fabulous week. Walking trails, super sunsets, tons off local interests. I highly recommend this property.
This was a nice spot and we have lakeside campfires every night. This is pretty calm and peaceful lake during the week, not too many obnoxious jet skis. The house is very cabin-like, but the bathroom is just about brand new. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, quiet getaway.
We had a wonderful week at this home. The property was so private, and the neighbors were far away but very friendly. Everyone that lived close by was nice and it certainly was a dog friendly community, we met Jerry, pepper, soleil and we brought sandy. Loved the location on the lake! House had just what you needed! Not fancy but met our needs, no wifi and no 1/2 bath on the second floor but otherwise perfect. We will be back!
Nicely situated camp-like 3-season cottage on east side of Owasco Lake. Shady, generous amount of beach, fire pits. Rowboat and 2 canoes. Neighboring houses about 50 yards south, 75 yards north. Small but very adequate dock in good condition. Clear refreshing lake without weeds or algae. Many room A/C units a plus.
It would have been helpful if we were told that we were responsible to bring 4 large garbage containers from the road, which was not close by, back to cottage Sunday then when we left to take them back up with our garbage and recycling.
Bathroom on first floor and a âpee potâ for nights on second floor.
Cottage inside and out could use good cleaning. Large spider webs everywhere.
The cottage was simple and charming, you weren't afraid to come in with your shoes on. We kept our dog in our boundary as others did not. Unclaimed dog signatures lying around that were not ours.
As always we fully enjoyed our stay here. Love the closeness to water and beach front. The new dock since we were last there is awesome! We will be back.
Our family and pets had a wonderful time. The house and property was perfect for us and our dogs. Loved being able to let them swim whenever they wanted. The kids loved canoeing, fishing and boating. The weather and water were perfect. The house is so cute inside and out. We hope to rent again in the future.
We loved it and it is part of our family vacation tradition to stay in an old family friend's house.
If we didn't have the family/friends connection with the owners as well as the renters/owners of the adjoining houses, and were strangers renting all these years, we still would objectively comment that the house is clean and we were provided good customer service. We were so delighted to see the addition of room window air conditioners this year, as it can get pretty hot in the summer. On that vein, over the years it could have been cooler if all the windows easily could be raised and lowered. Also, many screens don't securely fit into the window frames, allowing insects...most especially at night that are attracted to the light...to swarm in. Continued replacement of windows/screens would add significantly to the pleasure/comfort factors.
Activities, attractions, and restaurants abound but most especially we are at home there due to the fact my husband grew up there and we as a married coup,e have only missed three of the last forty years spending the week that includes the 4th of July there. Our children love it, as it is an annual part of their summers as well.
