Thatcher's Mill House On The Ridge and Four Legged Friendly!
Thatcher's Mill House was built in 1919 for the mill workers 3 blocks down that worked at Standard-Coosa Thatcher Mill. There is a one dog limit. My insurance will not allow Pit bulls, Rottweilers, Chows, or Dobermans. No mixes with these 3 breeds. It was a shotgun house that started with knob and tube electricity and no plumbing. Behind the house is a lot that all the local women would to get their water from a spring located there, no longer there due to the interstate and the demolition of many of the Missionary Ridge Houses. Remodeled and now like new this is a little gem that invites guests to enjoy what Chattanooga offers. Two mile to downtown Chattanooga. I live across the street and behind my house is an old maintained 3 tiered garden with wonderful views of the city. The sunsets are awesome with a goldfish pond and a Mermaid fountain. Sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the sound of the birds singing and the water splashing. Let your worries melt away. The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on this very ground. There have been bullets and shot found on the property. Come and converse with the ghosts....just kidding. Please do not ask for a late check out. I respect that my cleaners have lives other than just cleaning my rentals. Feel free to stay another day. Thank you!
Central location to EVERYTHING. We really enjoyed our recent stay and exploring all chattanooga had to offer. House was cute and Tammy is the sweetest! Thank you for having us!
The Thatcher house was charming and perfect for our family! It had everything you would find in your own home. Tammy was an exceptional host - friendly and quick to respond to any questions.
Everything about Tammy's shotgun house was perfect! It was spotless and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful stay!I've already been recommending it to family and friends :)
The house was so cute! We enjoyed our stay, my husband, myself and our fur baby. I thought the yard was fenced but it wasn't. When we arrived we got to meet Ms. Tammy. Very sweet lady! She allowed us to use the yard next door for our fur baby until her guest arrived. I really appreciated that! The house had everything we needed.
I spent a month in this cute mill house and grew very attached to it. As we had stayed there before for a few days, I knew it would be good and would have what I needed, and it sure did. I enjoyed meeting Tammy this time and communicating with her during my stay. She was very helpful and I even got a tour of her amazing master garden. This place is very clean, well stocked, nicely set up and able to accommodate dinner guests. Thereâs no question this will be my preferred place to stay during my/our visits to Chattanooga!
TammieđŽ, the host treat you like family and so accommodating, impeccably clean, cottage charm with all the exquisite finishes, slept well, convenient location will definitely be back
Clean and nicely set up with all the essentialsâvery welcoming even including Christmas decorations! This VRBO had all we needed to enjoy our short stay but we hope to come back again! Thank you to host Tammy who was immediately available and helpful when I had a couple of questions. Our experience was perfect for the few days we were there!
Had everything we needed. More than usual and expected. Little details like coffee, hangers, games, and throw blankets. Great location. Host was very kind and responsive. Home super clean.
We absolutely loved staying in this little gem! It had great access to everything we wanted to see/do while in Chattanooga. Tammy let us know there was more space for our furry family member to run, but she seemed content with the yard at the house!
I grew up in Philadelphia, Tn on a small horse farm. I moved to Chattanooga to go to college and have stayed here since. Like kudzu my roots go 6 feet under.
We are located on the lower side of Missionary Ridge. The battle of Missionary Ridge was fought here on Nov. 26, 1863. The Confederates camped in the very spot where this house was built in 1919. There is not anywheelchair access . We are pet friendly and are working on getting Fenced IN YARD. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathrooms, living room, dining room with a washer and dryer in the kitchen. Comfy furniture and soft bed for your sleeping pleasure. I furnish toiletries and Little Debbies for breakfast. Downtown Chattanooga is only 2 miles away. Across the street we have Shuffleboard, Horse Shoes, Picnic table with a grill and a Bocce Court. The garden on the next tear up was on the Hamilton County Master Gardener's Show in 2013. Walk through the garden, enjoy the views of Chattanooga, and sit down by the Mermaid Fountain with goldfish, and let your worries disappear. There is a 1 dog limit.
The city of Chattanooga is experiencing rapid redevelopment, economic growth, and what some call "gentrification". This means that if you stay in the city, you are likely to be on a street with a wide variety of properties, ranging from very good condition, to fair, to vacant. In addition, there is great racial, cultural, and economic diversity with city residents. I live across the street and love it here, but it may not be for everyone. I want all guests to consider this prior to booking, so no unfavorable review result.
