A mixed review, I will start with the pros:Lovely pool, it's big, clean and has lovely steps leading down (it's quite deep in the middle), can fit lots of inflatables.A large garden if you have kids that want to run around.Toilet downstairs is really handyBergerac is a nice little town, lots of restaurants, a nice boat trip and a town to mooch around...probably only need a day to explore fully but a good base to explore the region. We visited lots of chateaus and booked a vineyard tour to collect us from the house so no one needed to drive. The house itself could be fab, but needs a bit of work to make it the standard that we would want and unfortunately we wouldn't stay again.Cons:The upstairs of the house had a really strong odour, it was so strong that the kids ended up sleeping downstairs and to be honest we tried very hard to avoid going upstairs (unfortunately that's where the bathroom was).I think perhaps we didn't read the booking listings properly. It didn't say 'no smoking' and unfortunately the house smelt of stale cigarettes - I did wash all of the towels etc as they smelt quite badly. The house is the second house / holiday home of the owner and therefore it was full of their personal items (some people may not mind this) but it just didn't feel very clean or tidy.Previous reviews have mentioned the low beams upstairs, this did not bother us and would be quite charming if it wasn't for the smell.
Property needs quailified Builder to sort out defects. Not suitable for average height person.
Swimming pool dangerous for children and for elderly.needs guard rails.
