Coastal Waters is located at 3509 S Atlantic Avenue at the intersection of South Atlantic and 26th avenue in New Smyrna Beach.
The property is a classic 1950s Florida vintage hotel. Coastal Waters consists of 3 buildings with three floors.
The property has been modernized and updated with super-fast WIFI, a new heated pool, extended gas line to the grill area and digital wifi enabled door locks to provide easy access and simple contactless check in!
Our condo was steps from the beach and steps from the pool. It made for a very easy and convenient week. The pool was always clean and never over-crowded. The staff was responsive and friendly. I highly recommend.
Apartment was fine the 3rd floor was a bit a challenge carrying luggage. There were no luggage carts, no elevator, had to put luggage down each time to enter code at compound door and again at apartment door which got frustrating. Key would not work coming from beach to pool gate, no specified parking which was not a big deal, had to plan your shower at low capacity times if not water would trickle out. Personally I would not stay there again because of the ground layout but the apartment was very nice.
We enjoyed the beachside location, and the large TV in the front room was appreciated. The ocean views from the front room and the bedroom balcony were nice. There were some rough edges to the property, but it was a decent value. Some of the cabinet doors in the kitchen don't close properly. There were a few bugs in the front room, kitchen, and bathroom. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was not wired or switched normally. The key for the gate did not work on the direct beach access, but it worked on the side gate.
Overall, we might consider staying here again.
Excellent location, just outside busy commercial area. Plumbing issues with toilet and water. No running water on several days. Noted insects in kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Lock on door malfunctioned. So out of necessity spent days away from condo with door open. Could not get ahold of manager on weekends and holiday. Swimming pool was nice.
It was close to everything, communication was only via text which I had never dealt with before, but was easy, just wish there was screens in the windows and doors so we could open at night, other than that, it was great. Would highly recommend!
Affordable and enjoyable. Small fridge and slightly hot room with bad countertops. There are no rugs, but a great stay and location! Accurate to pictures and easy check-in/check-out.
The check-in process was fairly easy if you can read instructions about entering codes through gates. There was never a soul inside the lobby (if it was even open/accessible).
Parking was somewhat limited, but the overflow lot across the street usually had enough spots. At one point we saw an individual (guest? worker?) back their car out of a spot and move a cone from a coned off parking spot to where they just pulled out of to save their spot...
The AC is just a wall unit, if you close the bedroom door, it gets extremely warm in the bedroom.
There were no spare sheets or pillows like the listing stated. So no sheets/pillows for the couch bed (ew), and only 2 measly pillows on each bedroom bed.
The key provided for the back gate/beach access did not work, not a huge deal because you can use the sand alley access right next to the property.
The outside grills were a nice feature and worked well! The ice machine by the pool was handy as well!
All in all not a terrible experience, but I doubt I would return.
They said that they had no idea we were coming. Said it was a computer glitch. Then instead of communicating with us. They try to give us a room that was not clean. The confessed that the party in the room before us was in that room for a month, and they tried to tell us the room would be clean in less than 10 minutes. Holes, in the wall. Dead bug squished on the wall. Smelled like dirty socks. We asked for a different room. The cleaning person stated they did not have any. We asked to speak with a manager and she refused to give us a number or name to speak with. Nobody else on property to speak with. Horrible experience. We asked for our money back and we stayed somewhere else.
After check in time when we were five minutes away, Anthony Sacco, who initially wouldnât answer us, said he double booked....even though we paid well before the other party...he would t call us when we asked him to clarify...he had the cleaning person do it!! Then he had her offer us a ârefurbishedâ condo!!!! Four adults we had! He knew this! One king size bed and and air mattress!! He put lipstick on a pig and said it was refurbished!! When you closed the door, you could see A1A through the cracks in the door!! Old, run down dump!!!! I would love to talk to someone at VRBO because he gives you a bad reputation and I will never use it again! We had no where to stay ans made this reservation over a month ago! No stars foe him, negative if possible and none for VRBO because of it!!! Please call me...
Love the location and views of the sunrise every morning. Right on the beach and close to family! Can't beat New Smyrna Beach and all that it offers from fantastic restaurants, wine walk, Flagler Ave to surfing and golf.
