Property is a converted store front in a questionable and unsafe neighborhood. There are no windows, front door opens onto the side walk and basement bedroom although beautiful renovated and decorated was stuffy with no windows. Apartment also smelled of smoke.
We had to leave due to our child having asthma. Host offered a one bedroom at another location but we were a family of 4 staying for 9 days and that would not work.
The online listing presents gorgeous photos of the property. It is not quite so glorious. While we really did appreciate the washer/dryer combo unit, the property used to be a storefront, so the door is and front window are directly on the street. It can get a bit noisy. The house had ants all over the bathroom, and we found several other creepy crawlies through our stay which made it feel like the property hadnât had a cleaning service. The basement room (which we did not realize would be in a windowless dungeon-type space), while spacious, had two outlets that didnât work, no fresh air, and the only full size bathroom. There was a tub and a shower in separate locations, which was very nice. Two toilets were good. The top floor bedroom was cramped with a window looking into the main living area. The stove didnât work at all. It just felt like it presented as a luxury apartment, but it in reality, it was just ok. I guess if it had presented truthfully, I would have been expecting what I got and maybe not felt so let down. Also, the property location on the map on VRBO isnât quite where itâs actually located. Itâs not really the greatest location but it is just on the outskirts of a lovely location. If you walk about 1/2 of a mile, you get to a lovely shopping and dining area ⊠but make sure you go the right way, because most of whatâs around there is not nice. However, it is located near the metro, and that was nice.
