Nice little flat. Location not the best. Excellent, considerate hosts.
We enjoyed our stay in Paris. The flat is in a very old building with very uneven stairs, but when you enter into the flat itself, it is clearly in very good condition. They obviously took a lot of care to renovate it. The hosts met us at the flat to let us in and show us around, which was a very nice touch. There was a heat wave in Europe at the time and they thoughtfully had multiple fans and portable AC units in the flat, even though we didn't ask for them (or expect them). That was a very pleasant surprise. The flat is not too far from the famous Rue Montorguiel shopping street, which we very much enjoyed. However the neighborhood immediately around the flat is a little sketchy and we didn't feel safe outside at night in this area. Overall a great experience, but would probably look for something in a nicer area in the future.
We arrived at the summit of the strike and were greeted by fires, garbage in the streets, and people in the street. Our poor uber driver had to make 5 detours to get to the property and we were late checking in, but check in was easy and quick. When we left the demonstrations were over and the streets were being cleaned and even being washed by broom. At no time did we feel uneasy about the circumstances.
The apartment was clean and reasonably equiped---a toaster oven would be nice and well located about a block from the metro which can connect you to just about anywhere or get you there. Two flights of steps to the apartment were dark and somewhat uneven. The subway had many flights of stairs. I would not recommend for anyone with difficulty climbing stairs. The two bedrooms were nice as well as the living room and kitchen area. Bath was small and watch out for the hot water (really hot).
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location of the apartment.
