Our place is a super bright, incredibly clean, excellently appointed oceanfront condo with a view you are sure to love! Literally, a 2 minute walk to the beach! This new rental property will be your "go-to" favorite annual trip location. We really wanted to make sure everyone enjoys our special place as much as we do! Enjoy lazy days on the beach and at the pool, drinks on the deck, and exploring the quaint town of Duck. And BYOC (bring your own charcoal) for a nightly cook out in the courtyard area. So much FUN! We know you'll love Colony by the Sea (CBTS) as much as we do. It's a true gem in the Outer Banks! Ours is a first floor, end unit: no elevator, 2 short flights of stairs (building on pilings). We love to cook and entertain so we have a well-stocked kitchen, including basic spices, EVOO, balsamic vinegar and just about every utensil and baking/cooking tool we could think of. BRING YOUR OWN: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, towels (bath/beach/dish), sheets, pillows, and blankets. There is a coin laundry room for $2 per load (same for wash or dry) under the building if needed (it is kept very clean). TV sets in living room and bedroom with basic cable and streaming capability.

Loved the Lucky Duck

The VRBO process is very efficient. We were able to review all of the properties and even though we had not been to the outer banks before we were able to make an informed decision where to stay. The property we chose turned out to be a good fit. It is very clean and well decorated. It was provided with all of the needed kitchen stuff and was very comfortable. Communiation from the owners was excellent and made the renting process easy.

Spring Break

Love the area & decided to head back for a spring break mini-vacation. Location & property both exceeded expectations. Property is perfect for a small family. Very clean with great views. Property owner kept great contact to make sure we were taken care of & had the best experience possible. We don’t head to the OBX area much anymore, but next time we do we will definitely attempt to stay at the Lucky Duck again!!!

Recharging

This place was perfect for some get-away time for my daughter, daughter-in-law and myself. Being young mothers they needed some time and space to recharge. This place was ideal. Short walk to beach. Shopping and dinning close by. This place was beautiful and efficient in every way. The host was exceeded all expectations with information on accommodations and recommendations of the area. Will definitely be at top of list for future stays

Spring Duck Getaway!

My wife and I had a lovely time in Duck and your place was perfect for us. We used the well-stocked kitchen for a few great dinners (fresh fish!). We also enjoyed happy hour on the deck with the ever changing coastal colors. Very convenient to the beach for long walks and close to Duck village. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfy condo with a view

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Lucky Duck and had the most fabulous time. The condo is comfortable and clean with a nice view of the ocean from the deck. It is an easy walk to the beach. Tracey provided beach chairs and an umbrella that were in great condition. The condo is close to the main shops and several great restaurants . We were able to ride our bikes and leave the car at the condo. We would surely return.

Beachin good time

Took our brand new Jeep to the beach. Love the location of The Lucky Duck. Close to all. Enjoyed our visitor “Sparky the cat” would visit us each day. Saw lighthouses, The Wright Brothers monument, shopping and plenty of great restaurants. Also so relaxing just chilling on the deck at the condo. Great commication with the hosts.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Lucky Duck! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owners put a lot of thought and care into creating a comfortable, welcoming space. The condo is impeccably clean and beautifully renovated—everything feels fresh and new. The oceanfront location is unbeatable, with a stunning view that makes every morning feel special. Plus, it’s just a quick 2-minute walk to the beach, so we spent hours enjoying the sand and surf. Beyond the condo itself, the communication with the owners was top-notch. They were incredibly responsive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. The property is located in a charming, quiet area of Duck, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax. We loved the nearby local shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a cozy, clean, and well-located spot in the Outer Banks, this is it!

We love Lucky Duck!

This was our 2nd year staying in the Lucky Duck condo and intend to stay there again next September. It is immaculate and located in a great condo community. Just steps from the beach and pool, the view is beautiful, the kitchen is well stocked with staples like spices and oils, and it is convenient to get to restaurants and shopping in Duck. Hosts are very communicative. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with their experience staying in Lucky Duck!

We loved The Lucky Duck!

We had the best week at The Lucky Duck! We’ve stayed at a few condo’s in the same complex, but The Lucky Duck is by far the BEST one. The condo was spotless with the cutest decorations. The hosts have thought of every single detail to make your stay care-free. We loved the extra beds in the living room, the extra hooks for hanging, the fully stocked kitchen, and the amazing patio furniture complete with the perfect view. The hosts were so friendly, great at communicating, and we can’t thank them enough for sharing their home with us. We are the lucky ones to have found The Lucky Duck. We hope to return to The Lucky Duck next year!

The Lucky Duck x2

This was our second stay at The Lucky Duck and it did not disappoint. One of the cleanest condos I’ve ever stayed in; Tracy called on the way to the beach to confirm and let me know I could check in early and the new porch on the front with deck chairs, bench and place to hang your towels is functional and a great place to leave all your beach bags, towels, and boogie boards. Highly recommend!! Can’t wait to go back

Perfect!

My husband and I stayed at Lucky Duck for our honeymoon. The location was perfect -- near lots of great shops and restaurants, 2 minute walk to the beach. The condo was very cozy and clean! The size was perfect for the 2 of us, but you could definitely squeeze in a few more people if you're okay with sleeping in common areas. I appreciated all the little touches. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, grill supplies, spices, cooling oil, cleaning supplies... pretty much anything you'd need aside from food itself. 4 nice chairs and umbrella were available to use at the beach. The showers were both great! There were also lots of board games and smart TVs for entertainment. Tracey was also a great communicator and host. We'll definitely be coming back in the future.

Amazing Honeymoon Destination

Tracey was a wonderful host and everything we needed was right there. Communication couldn't have been better. There were plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and the property was extremely clean and well appointed. It was a very relaxing stay.

10/10 HIGHLY recommend! Property Manager is so helpful; Very quick to communicate, help and make you feel welcome. BEAUTIFUL BEACH FRONT condo. Kitchen is stunning and has EVERYTHING you need. We grilled out nightly and ate as a family listening to the ocean on the back balcony. Bathrooms are super clean and the whole place is updated- I am obsessed with the shower tile (simply stunning). Lots of hooks to hang and dry clothing/towel, great storage for bags. Laundry room was right below the unit very convenient. Check in/out process was smooth and easy! Owners left a folder with all sorts of menus and information about the town. I felt so safe walking all around the town of Duck. So much to see and do- and is very walkable! Beach and pool are clean and are only a few steps away! Other owners and employees on the property were SO KIND! Lots of options for TV within the condo, beds were comfortable! I can not say enough about our wonderful stay!

Beach getaway

Exceptionally clean, steps from the beach with a view of the ocean from the deck and living room, comfy king bed, 2 full baths, great shower in the primary bath (didn't try the other one), well stocked with the essentials. Lovely beach, great town, walked to and along the boardwalk for restaurants and shops. Tracey (the owner) was available, though we didn't need to call for anything. We highly recommend the Lucky Duck and hope to be back!

Great stay!

This property is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We were so impressed by the host's communication and it is clear that a lot of thought, love, and energy went into designing a welcoming and well-organized home. It was perfect for our family of 4. We especially enjoyed the view from the back porch and listening to the sound of the waves. We hope to stay here again sometime. Highly recommend.

We are Tracey & David Naghshineh. We were both born and raised in Northern VA, but we have lived in Charlotte, NC since 2006. We have always loved the Outer Banks, Duck & Colony by the Sea (CBTS) specifically, and have spent over 25 years making memories here with our two sons, and various combinations of family and friends. It is a 6 hour drive from Charlotte, but worth every minute of the drive (super easy drive, by the way... no traffic). Some longtime VA friends of ours purchased a CBTS condo (104A two doors down) in 2013 and we finally decided it was time for us to do the same. We could not be happier with our decision. We are so excited and can't wait to continue making memories here! And we can't wait for YOU to make memories here too!!!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We purchased our condo from a lovely, original CBTS owner. She was moving on to her next chapter, and so were we! We completely renovated and refreshed this property. Everything is new: windows, sliding door, kitchen, stove, dishwasher, cabinets, showers, vanities, toilets, floors, front door, furniture, and paint! Lots of planning and sweat equity, but the finished condo is truly amazing. And we hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do! It's a very special place to us, and we want everyone to feel at home.

Important note: WE DO NOT ALLOW GUESTS TO BRING PETS OF ANY KIND, even service animals. We feel this is the best way to ensure our property and the furnishings/contents stay in the best condition possible. So, please, leave your pets at home. We take this rule very seriously, and will be notified if there is a pet in our condo. This will lead to your vacation being cut short, without a refund. And no one wants all that drama while on vacation.

Full disclosure: We do love dogs and have 2 ourselves, and they will sometimes be at the condo with us, but they do NOT get on the furniture or sleep in the bed with us, even at our home. They stay on the floor and in their own doggie beds. I just wanted to disclose that should anyone have serious allergies and need to know.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with this condo and knew its potential from the start. It is a first floor, end unit with a large, extra window in the kitchen that lets in lots of natural light. There is a view of the CBTS swimming pool from the deck, perfect for watching the kids. You can get down on the beach in literally 2 minutes, and the outdoor grill area is right next to our unit. Since it's on the end, it's also out of the regular stairway "traffic pattern" for the other guests staying in building A. It's tucked away at the end on its own. And you can even see your parked car from outside the front door.
