Charming & serene waterfront home on the Piankatank River in Gloucester County, VA!

This one level 1400sf cottage (with sweeping views of the river from almost every room) has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a sun room a cozy screened porch, beautiful living room with ROKU tv and a wood burning fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, waterside decks, a terrific fire pit, gas grill, AMAZING dock with stunning views and adirondack chairs, kayaks, paddle board, yard games and more! It is both beautiful and comfy, and we promise you will feel at home right away and not want to leave.

We are experienced hosts with more than 300 five star reviews. No hosting agency to deal with - Scott and I are always just a text or call away. We are dedicated to your having a terrific stay, and know you'll agree that this is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy river life at any time of year.

My stay was excellent! I would definitely stay there again the house was very clean the kitchen was was equipped with all I needed , the beds were very comfortable , the view from house to lake was very relaxing

Wonderful home. Fully equipped kitchen, fabulous view from screened porch and deck. I have stayed in many, many VRBO homes and this one ranks in my top five. My only concern was the very small bathroom near the guest rooms but it was a small inconvenience against all the pluses in this home. Host was very accommodating.

As soon as you open the front door you know you made the right choice for your Waterfront getaway! Cozy and charming, yet plenty of room to spread out and enjoy both the indoors an outdoors. Several seating areas to choose from and a wonderful dock for those fishermen and women. We would recommend it anyone looking for a home away from home while on vacation.

This house was excellent. Spent a week there for 4th of July 2025.

We had a blast for the 4th of July. First of the week was really hot but by the weekend, the weather was perfect.The house is great, everything there you need.we stayed on the dock or in the water most of the time. we took our boat, which was great for the kids to jump in water from the boat.I highly recommend this place.Betsy was a doll to work with as well.

Great Place To Relax

I cannot say enough about this property. The kitchen is very well stocked, everything was very clean. Very quiet neighborhood. The sunrises and the sunsets were unbeatable from the dock! This is a beautiful place to go, disconnect and enjoy peace. The area is also very rich in history, and there is lots to explore! We will definitely visit again in warmer months.

Excellent and quaint cottage

Such a great getaway cottage with an amazing dock. Plenty of amenities so all you have to really do is show up with some groceries and enjoy your stay. We went kayaking, watched the sunset and enjoyed the inside living space. Will definitely plan to stay again.

Cosy cottage

We had a most enjoyable week in this spotlessly clean comfy cottage on the banks of the Piankatank estuary. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities one would need and with a very attentive owner.

This little jewel is an excellent place for a getaway. The Gal Pals had a wonderful time! The space was just right, and Betsy was always punctual in answering my questions.

Anniversary trip

We had a great time at Betsy’s house on the river. The home was perfect, stocked with everything you might need. The host provided lots of great info about the house and the local area. The river views were just incredible!! We hope to come back for a longer trip sometime in the future.

Sittin’ on the Dock

This property has pretty much everything for sunny or rainy days. Many nooks and crannies to relax in—indoor and out. If you want to relax and be close to nature—this is your spot. The house was well maintained and clean. It had an old cozy vibe to it but updated. Betsy the owner was lovely to deal with. We did NOT want to leave and you won’t either.

Gloucester Stay

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful property. The property is accurately represented in the description and the photos. I honestly cannot think of a thing that could have improved our stay. It is a peaceful, beautiful location. The river is gorgeous and we spent much time on the dock eating meals and just relaxing. Betsy was wonderful in checking in on us. We loved the location and hope to return.

Everything you need

My husband and I traveled down on our motorcycles to this property. The home was meticulously clean and had everything we could need and more! Would love to come back in warmer weather so we could enjoy the water more!

Excellent Stay

We had perfect stay here. The house is exactly as advertised and very well equipped with everything you might need. Highlights are many: Water view, sunrise AND sunset, the pier, fire ring, comfy beds, soft towels, lawn games, fishing, nicely decorated, well stocked kitchen. We had our own boat and really enjoyed the exploring the river. Betsy could not have been easier to work with in arranging our stay. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a get away on the River!

Tranquil Getaway on the River

My family of four had a peaceful and wonderful few days. We ventured out a bit to local towns/beach, but we were all happiest just spending family time at the house - enjoying the sights and sounds of the Piankatank. Betsy was very helpful and prompt in responding to questions and offering recommendations. We hope to someday return.

Holly Trail

The property has a beautiful location on the Piankatank River. The house is well-stocked with pots, pans and dishes. We were provided with plenty of bath towels. Our favorite hang-out was the screened-in-porch, where we watched herons, ospreys, seagulls and one or two bald eagles.

Christmas Shopping weekend with friends

This was a very nice central location for us to shop all over the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck and also going to Williamsburg for the Christmas tour. The home was nicely situated in a quiet neighborhood right on the river and we had beautiful views and lots of seating to enjoy the river. Everything was as it was advertised and was actually nicer in person. We hope to come back again in the spring before our daughter’s softball schedules get going in full swing to have a nice break before.

I'm both a realtor and filmmaker, my husband Scott is a US history teacher and we live in Charlottesville, Virginia. We have two sons, one of whom works at Pippin Hill Winery and the other who teaches middle school science. Our exuberant and amazingly friendly goldendoodle Harpo and our black ninja cat Moji round out the family. We love the outdoors and live in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains - but our hearts are happiest at the river.

We are experienced hosts, having offered an apartment in our primary home through AirBnb for five years. We pride ourselves on 5 star reviews, and you can rest assured that we are dedicated to making your stay amazing. We will always be just a phone call or text away!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I started coming to the Piankatank River when I was three years old, and it's home in so many ways. Scott and I were married here and raised our two boys fishing, crabbing and swimming in its waters. With the sale of my parents' river home in 2020, Scott and I bought this charming house and we are thrilled to continue making memories on this most beautiful of rivers. We'd love to share all the joys of river life with you.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The property is river front. It is an intimate experience with the water on the river side of the house. The dock is gorgeous with stairs leading down to the river for wading or launching of our two kayaks and paddle board, and beautiful views of both the sunrise AND sunset. We have a terrific fire pit, great waterside deck, gas grill, wood burning fireplace, lawn games, crab pots, life jackets, and even a large floating swim mat - you really just need to bring yourselves!
