We were in town for a wedding and found the Property super clean and neat! Awesome communication with our host! Our only complaint was we werenât there to enjoy it as much as we would have liked..
Very welcoming home and very well decorated and maintained. Perfect for our needs! We wish weâd booked a few extra nights as the house was even nicer than we expected.
The house was spotless. The kitchen fully stocked with everything you need. Beds were comfy! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. It was a great stay for sure!
We came to spend New Year's Eve with our family and friends. This was one of our favorite experiences in the 26 years we have done this with our group! The house was perfect, the location was wonderful and we would come back again if we have the opportunity.
Very clean and comfortable house. The surroundings were beautiful and we had a great time walking down to the water. We were in town for a graduation and the town was very cute homey; weâd stay here again for sure.
Absolutely beautoful home in a beautiful setting. Home was immaculate and stocked very well in case you forget to bring something. I will definitely be booking again and would recommend this to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay at this house in Gloucester. We were able to spend time with family while having a base home to return to. Thank you so much. We would definitely rent again.
We visit the area a lot to see family so I've stayed in quite a few rentals here. This is my first time at this property and I would stay again. Looks just like the listing. I appreciate the simple layout for our needs. 3 bedrooms meant we were comfortable at night. I thought the one king bed was pretty soft and the other firm; both comfy just think that's helpful to some to know. The living area and kitchen/dining space aren't huge but again you should know that from the pictures and it worked well for our family of 4. Thought this home was very clean. We enjoyed visiting the boat launch/pier. Thank you for a nice easy visit.
This cottage is one of the cleanest short-term rentals I've ever stayed in, and I have some pretty high standards! The owners did a fabulous job renovating--it is well laid out, with a modern look that still feels like a true "rivah" cottage. The decor is tasteful and does not lean into the kitschy you sometimes see in river cottages. Linens were decent and it was a nice touch to have them set up already in the bedrooms. We had some minor issues with the TV the first night and the owner was extremely respondent, even offering to come over at 8:30pm to troubleshoot. We were able to reboot a couple times and get service the next day, but hey, we're not on a getaway to stare at the TV, right? The neighborhood was extremely quiet and made for a very pleasant walk each day. A new dollar general market has opened less than 10 minutes away making it even easier to grab last minute items. If you're debating this property, just go for it! We hope to come back soon.
This property is owned and managed by Premier Hosts, James & Cheryl Riley. They also own a home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. James & Cheryl reside in Gloucester, Virginia with their two children. James owns his own business in the construction industry and runs a charter boat on the side- Fish Finder Charters. Cheryl is a registered nurse and spends much of her free time watching her children compete in sports.
This home is a good choice for a group of 6 or less. It is a one story home in a quiet neighborhood. You will find it is centrally located to many historical settings and easy access to the many tributaries off the Chesapeake Bay.
