Beautiful sound-front Soundsational is better than ever. This 2,700-square-foot home has a large waterfront lot that is the perfect launch for kitesurfers, windsurfers, kayakers, and those who simply love the best sunsets on the island. The waterfront is bulkheaded and has an extended pier for easy access to the sound. The ground level has good concrete parking, two carports, and an all-weather entry. The waterfront pool has a large, furnished sundeck, a hot tub, an outside shower, and a bath. The waterfront is bulkheaded and has a small dock for easy water entry for kids and adults. The first level opens with a game room featuring a pool table, a TV, a stereo, a mini kitchen with a sink, a microwave, a fridge, and a full bath. The first bedroom has two bunks and a TV. On level two, the second bedroom has deck access, and it shares a bath with hall access. The third bedroom has a TV. A sound-front bedroom has a TV, deck access, and a full bath. You'll also have a private washer/dryer.

The third-level living area has tall ceilings and panoramic views of the ocean and sound. A 60-inch LCD TV, and stereo system anchor the well-furnished living room. Another second sitting area has easy access to the furnished ocean and sound sundecks. The well-designed tile-floored kitchen has a breakfast island and is ready to provide meals for hungry friends at the sound-front dining area. The fifth bedroom is a sound-front room with deck access, plus a full bath. The kids will flip for the upstairs bonus loft with a daybed. Soundsational is absolutely sensational!

Things to Know
The private pool is open seasonally from 4/26/2025 and closes 10/12/2025. Dates are subject to change.
The pool will open seasonally from 04/01/2026 and close 10/10/2026. Dates are subject to change.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 5 vehicles.

Security camera details: Non-active surveillance cameras are located outside of the home pointed at the driveway and the front door. The owners turn the cameras on when the home is vacant.
2 days notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 60 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Our stay was absolutely amazing at the house. Check in we had to drive to Vacasa to pick up the key, but it was right down the road. The house was absolutely amazing and we would totally stay again. It was right on the water so that was definitely worth it. There’s a sidewalk that runs in front of the house so the kids were able to bike ride back-and-forth.We did have issues with Vacasa not responding to our request. The grill was unusable and the TV in the living room wasn’t working, along with an along with a few other minor things. But that’s totally not the owner’s fault. I would just suggest to the owner to change rental companies. Vacasa kept responding to my text saying somebody would get back to us. I called multiple times with no response. I was totally ignored. But thank goodness these were minor things so I was requesting compensation back. I am still waiting to hear about compensation. I pray that the owner reads this and responds.

Beautiful Property

Our family spent a long weekend at this home, and loved it. The home is beautiful, and laid out in such a way to allow you to really enjoy nature and the views of the Sound. We loved the dock, and the easy access to the water that came with the home!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location with beautiful views of the sound. Our teens enjoyed the property amenities - pool table, hot tub and water access. The property could use a little more basic maintenance and groundskeeping.

The view makes the place!!

Overall the trip was great!! The view is spectacular!!! We definitely would say some of the things could use a little updating and it didn’t quite look as nice as the pictures made it look. Again the view just makes the whole place worth it in the end. We will still definitely be back no matter what in the future.

Soundsational

We had a great time in the Outer Banks. We loved the location of the house. However, not being able to turn the thermostat below 71 made our stay sometimes uncomfortable. The house was not cleaned appropriately. The rugs and the couches were nasty as well as one of the beds not being made. We feel it did not match the price to rent the house. We would not rent this property again.

Excellent location!

House fulfilled all of our needs with 9 family members. Great view and we loved kayaking. We also really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This was our 24th annual OBX trip and we already can’t wait to come back!!

Every Day a New Problem

I was very disappointed in the amount of money we spent and the problems we had. Started off with house not clean example shower curtain had mold on them. Only thing they fixed the whole stay and how they fixed it was they brought us new shower curtain for me to put up. You’re welcome they are up. We had issues with dishwasher leaking, air conditioning on top level not working, smoke detector going off and wouldn’t stop,(safety issue I thought they would fix but didn’t), the list goes on but don’t have time to write them all. We finally stopped reporting issues because they said they would come out to fix we stayed by house because we had dogs and didn’t want someone coming in and making the dogs nervous. No one ever showed up so wasted time waiting instead of enjoying the beach. Pigeons made nest on mid level porch said they would come out and clean but never did bird feces all over so couldn’t use that deck. The house could be a nice beach get away but is in need of some major TLC to take care of cleaning and maintenance issues. I really hope they came out and fixed before the next guest show up.

Maintenance issues. Sliding doors, dishwasher leaks, grills unusable, keys don't work, broken cha...

Couldn't fit in the problems: they wanted me to rent a grill instead of bringing us a new one. Loved the house..very well kept, clean, nice supply of dishes, glasses, bowls, pots, pans ect.... Most beds (not the queen) are comfortable. King bed on top floor needs a much bigger top fitted sheet. Keeps falling off but the bed is comfortable. Great pool and pool area, love the privacy, great being so close to the water. I definitely would rent again.

Location was great. Otherwise the house was average, at best. It is clear the place is a rental only. Fixtures are worn. Doors leak. Strike plate on the carport egress door was almost falling out when we arrived. The 2x6 holding the exterior hose bib wasn't affixed to the house. Pigeon poop on the 2nd floor deck was monstrous and unsightly.

The good, bad, and really bad.

The good! Wow! Incredible view, excellent location, and plenty of space. The view of the sound is gorgeous! The hammock making for a extra relaxing view of the sunset. Location was great! One mile to real water sports, walking distance to an arcade for the kids, and a fun dive bar for parent enjoyment! If that’s not enough hop on to a bike for a quick ride to the beach. So much space! 4 kids 6 adults and enough room for everyone to spread out. The bad The house needs a serious deep cleaning. We visited the first week of June. There was definitely not a deep clean before the season. The cupboards are jammed packed with mismatched dishes, pots and pans that need to be replaced, broken appliances, to many spoons not enough forks, etc. The house is really dirty. This is not the fault of the turnover cleaners this is a deep clean issue. Caked dust, old coffee stains on cabinets, furniture that is bubbling, etc. The Really Bad. Vacassa is terrible. They changed our check in time to 6pm 2 weeks before arrival. I called and they said short staff but we could call the day of check in and see if we could get in earlier. Day of check in they called to say we could go at 4:30. I arrived at the office at 4:30 and they hadn’t even started cleaning the house. We have small children. They said we could go hang around outside of the property if we really needed to. The housekeepers were super kind and didn’t mind us playing in the pool. I explained to Vacassa several times that 6pm is a really difficult check in time with small children. They made no changes even though they pushed back the time. Several of the drains were clogged. You couldn’t wash your face in the sink because it filled up. Taking a shower filled up the bathtub so no back to back showers unless you wanted to stand in dirty water when you got clean. Several things didn’t work. The blender, the stereos, the DVD player, etc. So vacation pina coladas next to the pool with music weren’t happening. This place is gross. Don’t waste your money. Oh and they make sure to tell you not to put complaints in their guest book, so they are aware of the state of the property. Disappointing not worth 6500 for a week in a dirty place with broken everything.

Beautiful sunsets

The location of Soundsational is perfect to catch those incredibly beautiful sunsets. The layout of the home is comfortable. The pool is fantastic. Kitchen is well stocked. There were some problems though - a leaky sliding glass door that in storms, let in alot of water, soaking the carpet; two of the handles on the toilets were broken, making them unable to be used; there were small ants in the kitchen that we had to buy raid to treat - this helped tone the problem down but did not make it go away completely; the fitted sheet did not fit the king sized bed, repeatedly exposing a stained mattress cover; the garbage was not picked up the week prior to our stay and we had to call/text the management company four times before it was picked up on Wednesday (all three cans were full upon our arrival, with trash spilling over from them); one set of keys given to us did not work for the house and the office said they didn’t have any others. Given the cost of renting this home for one week, these are not issues one should have to experience.

Beautiful....but many problems .

The house is lovely and the setting also but we encountered several problems. The hot tub was not working and it we waited 3 days for the repairman, pool heat was not turned on, water was dripping from the ceiling on the first floor and all the drains were very slow and a lock on one of the doors had to be repaired. House was very clean and Linda from Vacasa did keep in touch with us during these problems.

Wonderful fall getaway.

The house has everything needed for a wonderful vacation. The house was clean and comfortable, and dog friendly. We loved our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the deck. A perfect Fall getaway, thank you!

Perfect view, perfect home.

We loved the view, accessibility for our kayaks, the large dining table so that we could all be together, the pool, hot tub, place was clean, and the entire house was so accommodating for our needs. Will return next year!

Sunsets…..enough said

Great layout and location. Sunsets were spectacular from many deck levels. Would get five stars if….house was cleaner(need through spring cleaning for dusty vents and disgusting, dusty head board in main level bedroom) and do something about middle level deck where pigeons nest and poop all over, piles of poop, grills were gross and only one burner of the three lit on the propane grill, so no cookout for us. That said, loved the location and with a little more care of the house, would be a five star review.

Really is Soundsational

This is a perfect vacation rental. The location is wonderful with perfect sunset vistas, but a terrific view of the sound all around. You cannot get any closer. The house itself is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with many extras. While the kitchen is somewhat small, it is extremely well appointed. The house and grounds are well kept. The pool is great, the sound right in front of you, and the ocean nearby. What more could you ask for? I have wanted to stay this house since I saw it years ago and couldn't book it. The last 2 weeks have been magical in every way. I would love to come back here and so should you.

Soundsational far from Sensational

To future renters of Soundsational #2RRR, My sister and I stayed with our families (July 31st-August 7th 2021) at this property. This was our first vacation since the pandemic started and we were looking forward to a wonderful Outer Banks experience. Upon booking this home, we loved the pictures of the property on Vacasa's website and trusted that they were a good representation of the home's present condition. Unfortunately, upon check-in, we found the house to be dirty and unsanitary and had to spend our first couple of hours cleaning and sanitizing the house. Here are some of the issues we had to deal with: -Kitchen was filthy - had to clean countertops and cabinets -All dirty cleaning supplies including three vacuum cleaners sitting in middle of kitchen -Dirty and warm refrigerator -Not equipped with sufficient supplies -Soaking wet carpets inside every sliding door and all area rugs were dirty -Finished basement smelled of urine -Bathroom sinks clogged -Shower curtains covered in mildew -2 nonfunctioning grills -Nonfunctioning TV/DVR -Cheap outdoor furniture (Adirondack chair collapsed and broke) -View of abandoned amusement park ( not stated on website) -No sheets for loft -Used face masks left in bedrooms -No trash bags We are clean and solid renters and spent significant time cleaning the house, entertaining maintenance to fix TV which they could not do, and waiting for carpet company to come out and extract excess water from carpets by the sliding doors. It is unacceptable to leave a home in the condition that we found it upon arrival and charge the price listed on your website. We reached out to Hatteras Realty and Vacasa asking them to make the owners of this property aware of these issues and received nothing more than the cleaning fee and an email saying "I'm sorry." The pictures on the website are from years ago. All you will see in the front yard is a broken fence that belongs in a junkyard, tons of weeds, and the septic tank. When choosing an Outer Banks home for your family vacation, I DO NOT recommend using Hatteras Realty or Vacasa.

Amazing Sunsets!

The sunsets every night were amazing. What a treat! This was our first time staying soundfront and we will definitely be back! Loved the easy water access for kayaking and paddle boarding. Nice, uncrowded public beach access and FWD beach access nearby.

Beautiful home, great location!!!!

We loved the location of this home. It’s a very comfortable and spacious home with a fabulous view of the sound. We also enjoyed the pool quite a bit. This was our 21st year coming to the OBX. We have stayed in many houses, some repeatedly. We would have rebooked for next year but price is more than doubling (almost triple) for this house.
