Escape to our beautiful lakefront cabin on Hohman Lake, and experience a truly relaxing vacation. Our unplugged getaway is the perfect destination for families, small groups of friends, or couples looking to disconnect and unwind.

The cozy cabin features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, offering 1000 square feet of comfortable living space. Enjoy stunning views of the lake from the screened porch and deck, and relax in the large private spa. Renters are welcome to fish on the lake, swim off the dock, and bring their own kayaks or canoes to use on the water.

The master bedroom overlooks the screened porch and offers a queen-size bed with a breathtaking view of the lake. The second bedroom also features a queen-size bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. Additionally, we provide a queen-size inflatable mattress, allowing the cabin to sleep up to 6 guests.

The cabin is equipped with central heat and air, TV with Blu-Ray/DVD player, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, towels, linens, hairdryer, and iron. We also provide complimentary coffee supplies to get your mornings started off right. Please note that there is no cable or satellite service, internet connection, or landline phone service at the cabin. However, cell phone service for texting is good, and voice service is fair. If you need to stay connected, both Metropolis and Paducah public libraries have computer rooms available for use.

There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching in the vicinity. The cabin is located near the Shawnee National Forest and just a 40-minute drive away from the stunning Garden of Gods.

Outstanding lake view

Great proximity to Metropolis and Paducah but the benefits of a relaxing lake view. The screened in patio was SO comfortable. Well stocked home with hcomfortable furnishings. Everything you need for coffee too which I really appreciate.

Serenity on the Lake

My sisters & I were in Paducah for the quilt show & wanted a relaxing place to wind down after a few busy days of shopping. This cottage really fit the bill. Located on a beautiful lake in Brookport, IL, it was exactly what we were looking for. The beds were comfortable, the views were fabulous! The kitchen was equipped with all the right utensils, etc. if I am ever traveling in this part of the country again, I would definitely stay here again

Peaceful and great fishing

It was a nice clean house with pretty views of the lake. My husband caught over a dozen fish. The weather wasn't great while we were there but it was still a good time.

Dad and daughter weekend!

I’m a busy legal advocate with 5 kids (24-4). Needed to have a dad and daughter weekend with my college enrolled, almost full time working 21 year old daughter. Rachel and Jerome’s cabin was perfect, lots of time to talk, no work emails, scrolling or homework. The house is perfect and full of extra touches to feel more like a home than a cabin. The expansive back yard was great with the large screen porch, deck, hot tub and the lake access.The only negative, (that was not a negative for us) is there is no cell service and no WiFi. We were able to make phone calls though. For me, this is exactly what I wanted though!Tons of deer, very quiet, not far from several beautiful towns. Less than 2 hours from Nashville, we even golfed one day.Great long weekend! Thank you again to the owners for providing a great experience!Josh and Jenalee

Beautiful cabin on the Lake

We had a great time relaxing inside, in the hot tub and walking around the lake. It's a wonderful place to stay. Nearby we enjoyed food in Paducah, the great trails for MTBing and hiking in the Land Between the Lakes, and just had to waste time seeing the World's Tallest Superman. Good times for sure.

Great place

I rented this place for my father and his friend while I stayed at the cabin 75 yards up the hill. Everything across these two properties is top notch and highly recommended. Having two properties so close did help us all travel down and stay “together”. We met up every evening for dinner and a few drinks and then stumbled down the road back to our respective cabins. Jerome and Rachel have a gem here and you should check it out for yourself.

Perfect Place for Peace and Quiet

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here because we enjoy it so much. It is a great place to go to reconnect with your loved ones and nature. Very clean, cozy, and peaceful with beautiful views. Hosts are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again!

We were in Paducah for retriever master nationals- very nice location- quite- enjoyed sitting on porch every morning with my coffee listening and watching the geese come in - very peaceful!

5 day stay

Location was amazing, quiet nights, dark skies with incredible view of the stars. Lake was gorgeous and perfect for swimming, we will probably make this an annual trip. Only complaint would be the little white dog next door who came o er every morning to bark at us, but he was easy to run off, just annoying. Overall was an excellent experience and would gladly recommend.

Best Retreat

I almost don’t want to share how great this place is to keep it a secret for when I want to stay! Seriously though, couldn’t ask for a better place to get away. My last minute booking was accepted right away. All necessary information to check in was conveniently provided through the site. House was clean and comfortable. I forgot soap, and body wash was available! Hot tub was clean and enjoyable under the night sky. The swing by the lake was a nice touch. Dock is sturdy. Property is a great location. I am definitely booking again!

WONDERFUL PLACE

The lake house has beautiful scenery, and the home is cozy and clean. The owners have been nothing but kind and helpful. I’ve spoken to Rachel when needed and she always replied right away, as much as one can with no wi-fi and very limited cellular service. This was our 2nd visit to the lake house and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for somewhere quiet, relaxing, and just needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all.

At the Retreat Cabin, you can enjoy a truly exceptional getaway experience. The serene lake, stunning scenery, and opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life are just a few of the reasons why we keep returning to this place. One of our favorite things to do is to sit out on the dock and watch the breathtaking sunset (or sunrise if you're an early riser).

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our family's main reason for repeatedly returning to the cabin was the absence of cable TV and internet. This allowed us to avoid the distractions of technology and focus on reconnecting with one another. While some may view this as an inconvenience, we saw it as a valuable opportunity that our family truly needed. It's a chance we wanted to extend to others who seek a place to disconnect from technology and instead prioritize reconnecting with loved ones.
