Lakeside Cottage With 1 Bedroom And A Loft, Sleeps 4

Escape to our cozy lakeside cabin, perfect for families or romantic getaways. With 950 square feet of comfortable living space, our cabin comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. The cabin's fully stocked kitchen and open dining and living areas are perfect for sharing meals together, and the fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere during cool fall or winter nights. The main floor has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and full bath, while the upstairs loft is a special hideaway with two twin beds. Guests can also enjoy the screened back porch that overlooks the lake and has a private spa.

We offer a range of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including an outdoor spa, outdoor fire pit (wood not provided), gas grill, outdoor furnishings, dishwasher, washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, central heat and air, kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, towels, linens, hairdryer, iron, and complimentary coffee supplies.

Our cabin is situated on Hohman Lake and is near the Shawnee National Forest. It's the perfect location for guests looking to hike and explore nature or visit nearby wineries. Renters may also swim or fish from the docks and bring their own kayaks or canoes to use on the lake. Please note that motorized boats are not permitted on the lake.

Please note that our cabin is an unplugged getaway, and therefore there is no cable or satellite service, internet connection, or landline phone service at the cabin. However, cell phone service for texting is good, and voice service is fair. If you need to stay connected, both Metropolis and Paducah public libraries have computer rooms available for use. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite movies for the DVD player or watch DVD’s provided at the cabin.

2nd time staying here within 2 months. If you want a relaxing experience, cut off from outside influences, this is the place! If you live off the internet or TV, don't come here. And I say that in a great way! My wife and I (late 50's and 60) looked forward to the Lakeside Cabin to unplug and talk. we floated on the lake, fished, sat outside and listened to nature! If you need to unwind, please consider this! We'll be back again next year!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this charming lakefront cabin! The location was perfect—quiet, peaceful, and the ideal place to unplug. We enjoyed fishing right from the property, swimming in the lake, and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. The cabin was stocked with plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, and pans, making it easy to prepare meals. The outdoor dining area and fire pit were wonderful touches that made our time outside even more enjoyable. The hosts were fantastic—very attentive and quick to communicate throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and can’t wait to come back! Excellent way to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.

We loved our stay at the cabin. Hosts provided many extras that aren't typically expected at a rental; dishwasher pods, toiletries, plenty of towels, dish soap, trash bags, and more! The home is beautiful, nicely decorated, lots of little notes and reminders which were helpful. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic! There are a few places that my cell phone intermet worked (verizon). The chair at the screen porch table closest to the insideide door.

Lakeside House, Brookport, IL

The description says Lakeside Cabin, but I would call it a small Lakeside House! Everything this near-retired couple could ask for! Being July 4th weekend, 90's and little cloud cover, we didn't use the hot tub or screened-in back porch. It's perfect for a couple or family of 4! But, you are basically cut-off from the outside world, which we needed! Our Verizon signal was very slow, but gave us time to put the phones down and enjoy the company of each other! We fished off the dock, floated/fished off of rafts, grilled every night and just enjoyed ourselves! Looking to rebook Labor Day Weekend!

Beautiful, quiet lake. Nicely decorated, comfort bed and linens. Stairs are too narrow and steep to be used by children or older adults. Bathtub was not cleaned before we arrived. I had to bleach it myself before we could use it. Oven/stove could have been cleaner.

It was very clean. We arrived during a thunderstorm. It was nice to have the screened in porch to enjoy the storm. The only thing that disappointed us was the gas tank for the grill was empty. We had to cook inside. No biggie. Over all nice accommodations

Cabin on the lake

We had an amazing weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday! This was a perfect disconnect to reconnect! It was a nice way to slow down day to day life! Will definitely be back!

Nice stay on the lake

Nice clean home, great location on the lake with outside seating. Hot tub was small but fine. The house was very well kept and lovely. We stayed for a long weekend and had everything we needed.

Pretty cabin

Cabin was just as described. We missed the part in the description about no WiFi or tv. During the summer months this wouldn’t have been an issue but playoff weekend of the NFL when it’s 12 degrees out, it was an inconvenience. We enjoyed our evenings more due to the fireplace and the hot tub, but the daytime was a different story. The permanent neighbors next door ran a generator five feet from the hot tub while drinking beer & welding all day 1. Day two the neighbor’s little dog was outside barking and chasing us anytime we went to the car (within a few feet of us). The cabin was so cute and we love this lake. This is the third cabin we have tried here but we probably won’t be back to this one.

Great cabin

I’ve been staying here for years and hope to continue for years to come. The cabin is stocked with everything you need to survive for a week. The only extra thing I bring is my crock pot because it makes easier meals when you’re gone all day. This year was the first year I brought my 9 year old son with me and he had a blast. There is no internet signal but he didn’t miss it a bit. He caught endless fish off the end of the pier including a 4 pound largemouth. The hot tub warmed us up and playing cards and chess ended our nights. Look forward to being back. Awesome as always Jerome and Rachel

Great quiet cabin

We had a fantastic day at this cabin on a lake. It was extremely quiet. The cabin was clean and well appointed and everything functionally worked great. We were hoping there would be kayaks or a paddle boat here that would add to the experience. Wi-Fi and or satellite TV would be a plus

We fell in love with the peaceful atmosphere of Hohman Lake and the opportunity to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We especially love sitting on the dock and watching the beautiful sunsets (or sunrises for the early risers). We're thrilled to be able to offer this same experience to others. Plus, the cabin is conveniently located next to our other VRBO property, making it the perfect option for larger groups or families traveling together.

Our family's favorite aspect of the Lakeside Cabin was the lack of cable TV and internet. It allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings and spend quality time reconnecting with each other. We understand that some may view this as an inconvenience, but for us, it was an opportunity to unplug and recharge. We want to provide that same opportunity to our guests who are looking for a place to disconnect from technology and focus on spending time with loved ones.
