Lakeside Cottage With 1 Bedroom And A Loft, Sleeps 4

Escape to our cozy lakeside cabin, perfect for families or romantic getaways. With 950 square feet of comfortable living space, our cabin comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. The cabin's fully stocked kitchen and open dining and living areas are perfect for sharing meals together, and the fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere during cool fall or winter nights. The main floor has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and full bath, while the upstairs loft is a special hideaway with two twin beds. Guests can also enjoy the screened back porch that overlooks the lake and has a private spa.

We offer a range of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including an outdoor spa, outdoor fire pit (wood not provided), gas grill, outdoor furnishings, dishwasher, washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, central heat and air, kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, towels, linens, hairdryer, iron, and complimentary coffee supplies.

Our cabin is situated on Hohman Lake and is near the Shawnee National Forest. It's the perfect location for guests looking to hike and explore nature or visit nearby wineries. Renters may also swim or fish from the docks and bring their own kayaks or canoes to use on the lake. Please note that motorized boats are not permitted on the lake.

Please note that our cabin is an unplugged getaway, and therefore there is no cable or satellite service, internet connection, or landline phone service at the cabin. However, cell phone service for texting is good, and voice service is fair. If you need to stay connected, both Metropolis and Paducah public libraries have computer rooms available for use. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite movies for the DVD player or watch DVD’s provided at the cabin.

Nice stay on the lake

Nice clean home, great location on the lake with outside seating. Hot tub was small but fine. The house was very well kept and lovely. We stayed for a long weekend and had everything we needed.

Pretty cabin

Cabin was just as described. We missed the part in the description about no WiFi or tv. During the summer months this wouldn’t have been an issue but playoff weekend of the NFL when it’s 12 degrees out, it was an inconvenience. We enjoyed our evenings more due to the fireplace and the hot tub, but the daytime was a different story. The permanent neighbors next door ran a generator five feet from the hot tub while drinking beer & welding all day 1. Day two the neighbor’s little dog was outside barking and chasing us anytime we went to the car (within a few feet of us). The cabin was so cute and we love this lake. This is the third cabin we have tried here but we probably won’t be back to this one.

Great cabin

I’ve been staying here for years and hope to continue for years to come. The cabin is stocked with everything you need to survive for a week. The only extra thing I bring is my crock pot because it makes easier meals when you’re gone all day. This year was the first year I brought my 9 year old son with me and he had a blast. There is no internet signal but he didn’t miss it a bit. He caught endless fish off the end of the pier including a 4 pound largemouth. The hot tub warmed us up and playing cards and chess ended our nights. Look forward to being back. Awesome as always Jerome and Rachel

Great quiet cabin

We had a fantastic day at this cabin on a lake. It was extremely quiet. The cabin was clean and well appointed and everything functionally worked great. We were hoping there would be kayaks or a paddle boat here that would add to the experience. Wi-Fi and or satellite TV would be a plus

Unplugged scenic retreat

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely return. Absolutely beautiful view and the house surpassed our expectations. Tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We had planned on doing some sight seeing but this house was so peaceful and relaxing that we ended up just staying at the house the majority of our visit.

Southern Illinois Visit

Check in process very easy and good instructions. Exit instructions were easy to follow. Very relaxing stay. My husband's and I when we retire want to buy a home on a lake. So it was a nice trial and the lake was so clean and inviting. Rachel and Jerome definitely have a gem. A must stay for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle. Relaxing in the hot tub was a definite plus❤️

Amazing cabin

This is our second time going to this area but first time in this cabin and wont be our last! This cabin had EVERYTHINg you could want or need. We spent mornings kayaking the beautiful lake and fishing. We then spent our evening on the porch eating dinner! 10 out of 10 place for an unplugged relaxing weekend!

Fun on the Lake

The property & cabin was beautiful. My sister & I enjoyed the serene setting, the enclosed screened in back porch, there was a hot tub, everything you needed was there. All you had to bring was your food. Rooms were very nice, beds were comfortable & it was wonderful to get away & relax. We loved the lake. Many places to visit, too.

Location is away from the crowds. Screened porch was a great thing since it rained the whole time. Hot tub a bit difficult to understand how to use it. The ability to sit outside was nice the lake is amazing and very relaxing.

My husband and I stayed here for our four year wedding anniversary. The house was super clean and provided anything you would need. The view was amazing and it was so relaxing. The neighbors are a little close with but it was mostly quiet.

Plus, the cabin is conveniently located next to our other VRBO property, making it the perfect option for larger groups or families traveling together.

Our family's favorite aspect of the Lakeside Cabin was the lack of cable TV and internet. It allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings and spend quality time reconnecting with each other. We understand that some may view this as an inconvenience, but for us, it was an opportunity to unplug and recharge. We want to provide that same opportunity to our guests who are looking for a place to disconnect from technology and focus on spending time with loved ones.
