Unusual house.....nice location.

This is our 5th rental with VRBO and we were lucky to get it on short notice due to a problem with our first choice. The house was clean and as pictured, but barren- minimal furniture, pictures, only one television, no K-cup coffee maker, chairs to sit outside, nightstands next to beds, a dresser to put things on. It appears to be a new listing-our recommendation to owner would be to add more “comforts” to make it more of a vacation rental - a notebook with tv instructions, codes, restaurant recommendations, area information would be nice. At the very least, there needs to be another TV- 3 bedrooms and the ONLY television was in the living room.

We really enjoyed the charm of this house—it's cute, unique, and located in a quiet neighborhood that's also very convenient to the interstate. The home was clean and well-kept, which we appreciated.However, we did encounter some issues with communication. There was no proactive contact from the host, and when we finally did receive a response, the tone felt unnecessarily curt. Check-in and check-out details were not provided as promised; we had to follow up ourselves to receive that information.The kitchen is only minimally stocked, with very few tools and towels, so be sure to bring your own if you plan to cook. Also, while the listing indicated the property is pet-friendly, there was no mention of the additional pet fee. A change in our plans meant we brought our dog, but the unexpected cost was significant and would have affected our decision had we known in advance.Overall, it's a lovely home in a good location, but better communication and clearer information in the listing would have made our stay more seamless.

We enjoyed our stay and the house was very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet. Our only problem was unlocking the front door. However, we found another door that was able to be unlocked easily. We would definitely stay at this home again.

Beautiful location but home felt a little deserted

My family and I rented this house for a fun stay at Lake Norman and overall we enjoyed our stay here but there were a few things that I would say were lacking, which was a total bummer given all the pros that this location and house have to offer. Pros: - the location of the house is perfect - the neighborhood is adorable. - the upstairs part of the house is lovely with beautiful wood ceilings and floors, a nice big kitchen sink, and a master bathroom that is just awesome - there is a laundry room with a working washer and dryer - Roku TV in living room - the house stays cool and was comfortable for the times we were there and while sleeping Cons: - the downstairs looks like maybe it hasn't yet been remodeled as the bathroom looked older and the two bedrooms were pretty sparse-feeling with just beds in the rooms - be sure to bring or buy your own laundry detergents, coffee creamers, and other basics as there are none provided (there was ground coffee and sugar available) - we actually did not end up using one of the bedrooms (my mom ended up sleeping in the same room with my kids) because all it had in it was a bed and about 8 huge bug traps lining the walls (there were no other bug traps anywhere in the house), so we left it empty for fear of being mauled by whatever bugs that many traps were left for - There was not much in the way of towels, kitchen sponges, or paper towels. All the towels were older-looking towels and instead of hand towels there were a bunch of old wash cloths that we used because we hadn't thought to pack towels for our stay. There was one roll of paper towels that we went through pretty quickly given the lack of cloth towels so we had to run to the store to buy more. I found a couple of old dish sponges under the sink but we did not use them to clean dishes as they looked like they were more for scrubbing sinks and countertops. - the pots and pans are very old and not great for cooking with, so we ended up eating out mostly - there is no barbecue outside - no deck or lawn furniture to use - there was a fire pit, but there was not any wood to use except a couple old termite-eaten logs that would not light, but the lack of chairs made it difficult to enjoy a fire pit anyway. Mostly minor issues, albeit surprising how much they affected our enjoyment of this place. Some new towels and other home basics would pretty much solve the problem and make such a beautiful home more welcoming.

Hi Kristen, thanks for visiting and the feedback. To address your comments, the listing is not advertised with a barbecue, but there is both a barbecue and all the fire pit chairs in the garage, which you had access to with the main key. We don’t keep them out side in the wooded area, as they would get rusted and dirty, and not every guest uses them. The lakeside is naturally a wooded area, so bugs, moisture and dirt gets on furniture if left in the yard As opposed to stored in garage. Regarding towels and cookware, they have all been replaced since your review. We stay constantly booked so ordinary wear and tear on appliances is expected. The traps in the bedroom were set by our quarterly pest control company, who comes by four times a year to treat for maintenance. He had no reason to put the traps out, except for his company’s protocol. We had those removed as soon as we realized they had been placed there (because yes, they absolutely looked tacky). Regarding the downstairs finishes, the floors are brand new luxury vinyl tile, and the photos of the fixtures in the vanity and bathroom are clean and very clearly pictured on the listing prior to booking. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

Mooresville Lake Norman Treehouse

Poorly stocked kitchen/cooking equipment, no deck or patio furniture to sit outside, all the wooden deck needs repair and steps slippery when wet. Great room sofa uncomfortable. Not enough towels. Bedrooms on lower level cold and sparsely furnished. The neighborhood was a gem!

Unique home in great location

The property is unique in the best way, is beautifully decorated, and has plenty of space. The location is great - we loved the lake view from the porch. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and it suited us well. For a 3 bedroom house, there could have been more plates, silverware, etc., but I believe that is more because the listing is newer and maybe not fully stocked yet. It would also be helpful to have instructions for the Nest and the fireplace. Again, easily fixable. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!!

Beautiful tree house adventure

This house was very neat and clean . Only thing of you plan doing a lot of cooking , you will need to bring some of your own pots and pans . They were 4 plates, cups and so forth . We ran out and grabbed some plastic forks and spoons . The only room with a TV was the living Room . But overall this house was one of the prettiest and cleanest we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in several. We would highly recommend this and stay again !!!
