There was a pair of dirty mens underwear on the floor under the bed in the front bedroom. There was mold in the bathroom sink facets. One full roll of toilet paper would have been great until we got to the store. Basically just about empty roll in each bathroom was it. Operating the televisions was a bit confusing. We did finally figure it out. Coming up to the 3rd floor to an 80 place was hard, that never seemed to get better. The floors were nasty.

Very clean and well appointed property. The condo building is mostly owner-occupied and the residents were so friendly and welcoming! Beautiful views of the sound. Walk to the oceanfront/beach is easy, although you do have to cross NC 12. Location is convenient for shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

The place was clean and pretty. We enjoyed the back deck that looks onto the sound. Nice relaxing place to sit.The issue we had was with the eco friendly items in the house: air conditioning, shower, and lights. Came back from a beach day and the condo was 80. Took a long time to cool off. The temps in the condo were usually on the hot side. The shower water would turn off after a few minutes of hotter water. It was challenging to deal with. The light switches were very touchy. We liked our stay but the eco friendly parts were excessively annoying.

Beautiful Condo!

This condo is exactly as advertised. It was clean, comfortable and a great size for a weekend adventure for a small group. It has beautiful views of the sound and is located in the perfect spot for a relaxing and quiet getaway in OBX. Would stay here again!

we had a great time in your condo. the pool was the best. it was my grandson’s favorite part. the unit was spotless and in a great location. enjoyed the view of the sound. would stay here again

Quiet and lovely

We loved this spot. We could walk to the beach and several local restaurants. The view from the balcony is exquisite. There are 4 flights of stairs so i was able to burn off the extra cocktail at dinner.

Family Vacation

The property was perfect. Location was convenient with just a short walk to the beach and the kids loved the pool. We really enjoyed the balcony and condo had plenty of space for our family of 4. Being third floor-it was a lot of stairs, but we knew that from other reviews and were prepared, so we didn’t mind. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Great Escape

Even for Labor Day weekend, the area was not crowded and almost felt like we was on a secluded island. The condo was very spacious and comfortable. All we had to provide was our personal items and our food. Beautiful view of the sound from the balcony in the morning while we enjoyed our coffee.

Peaceful place with a beautiful view

We rented this place for our vacation in the Outer Banks. It was our 2 1/2 year old’s first trip to the beach, and we were looking for a place that was easy access to the beach, but also fairly secluded. This place fit the bill perfectly. We loved Avon. The condo was perfectly suited for our needs. There was a pool on the property, and public beach access across the street. The views of the sound from the balcony were awesome. We will definitely be back if they have us!

Nice and clean, good location. However, one drawback..

All was great, clean condo, nice view of the bay and a short 5-minute walk to the beach. However, this condo is listed as having a washer/dryer. If you look at details, you see it's a shared washer/dryer in a common room. No big deal but it should be made more obvious on the VRBO listing.

Some issues

The unit was nice and very clean as described. However, the owners did inform us we could not adjust the thermostat due to energy conservation. The unit was very warm, 78 was the normal temperature but at the local businesses the temperature was much cooler. Two nights it was so warm my child became sick. Also bring extra towels and wash cloths we only had 4 of each for 3 people the entire week. Had to go out and buy more.

Review from windsurfer

Very nice condo, comfortable and clean. The stairs not a problem for us but be aware it is the top floor. Property owners alerted us to some possible flooding since we were there during tropical storm Ophelia, which did happen but was not a problem as we followed their directions for where to park. We choose the place for the location and proximity to the windsurfing location. This is right where OBX-Wind is held and right next to Ocean Air shop. Windsurfer perspective on location - while it would be nice to have been up front in the large homes we were only two people so there was no point in getting a big place and this suited our needs. We met the renter of one of the homes up front and she was more than happy to have us launch from the grassy backyard. I imagined this would be the case and so if you’re coming to sail/kite I’m sure most people would do the same. Otherwise Ocean Air doesn’t mind if you launch from their area but then it’s a bit of a walk in the water to the wind line. We were impressed with the changing water level during the storm that started as a direct east wind. Once it changed to south it was a better direction to sail, so S,SW,N, or NW would probably be the best wind directions here. Would gladly rent again next windy weekend :)

An important note on this property: you have limited control over the air conditioning, per other reviews. As such, I asked ahead of time if this was true and I was told that they changed that policy… well they sort of did. While you are physically in the property, you can control the AC, but if you leave, it shuts off. The unit is set up to save on electric and water and such and be eco-conscious especially on the outer banks. I can appreciate that. But there are ways to go about it. If the air wants to set to 77/78 when I’m not there, okay. But 80/82 isn’t acceptable. It would take an hour or more to cool down to about 75/76 when we would return from wherever we were. One day we went to ocracoke, got back at 9pm and it was 80… well my kids have to go to bed… gotta wait until 10pm to get comfortable. Went to frisco to beach, roll in hot and sweaty at 3pm and it’s 82 and stuffy. Sure, there’s fans, but I’m not paying to be warm for 90minutes. I want to cool off. I’m already warm. Anyone want to turn on the stove or oven when it’s 80? Oh - well just wait 90 minutes before starting your meal. That’s convenient. So the “big brother” control of the AC is a major thumbs down. (And we were there when it was only like 85 outside… not 95) … the property itself has great views and a nice pool and was quiet. Good beds and furnishings. Kitchen cabinets could use some updating but not a big deal. NOte, it’s a lot of stairs as there’s no elevator of course.
