Our cabin was abolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. Within a short distance from the river, you really canât beat that. Our host provided plenty of supplies to enhance our stay, I would definitely come back again and highly recommend anyone to choose this cabin!
We really enjoyed our stay in this little hamlet. The house was comfortable, the access to the river was great. My only complaint was that it was not super easy to get down to the river but we made it work. My kids and husband had no issues with access, it was just me. That portion of the river was so quiet and peaceful, we felt like we had the whole river to ourselves. Definitely worth the drive!
Had a wonderful two nights at this quiet cabin. Fully stocked kitchen that we cooked two meals in, great river view, we caught fish in the river, enjoyed the kayaks the house provided, and was a short 5 minute drive to Leakey for restaurants and Garner State Park for hiking. Only thing missing was body soap for showers, but outside of that house had everything and was very comfortable.
The cabin is very roomy and very nice. Access to the river is slightly challenging directly from the house but manageable. There are lots of games, but no scrabble or yahtzee. Luckily, we beought our own. That's not really a big deal, just a hint đ.
Beds are comfortable and the back deck is nice and large with a great view of the river. The river has a good amount of water but the flow is very slow. All in all we had a great time. The host is very responsive and very cordial. Thanks again!
This was our second visit which is now our annual family vacation. We absolutely love everything about âspotâ! Communication with the host, Tom, is easy and personable. The cabin is clean, private, kid friendly, roomy, comfortable and has all the necessities plus more!!! We really enjoyed the new kayaks!!!! Our most favorite thing, you are steps away from the beautiful Frio River. We have been during 2 drought seasons and the location right in front of the cabin had plenty of water to enjoy floating or sitting. We love the property because it is private and a beautiful setting to enjoy nature or the millions of bright stars at night. We cannot wait to return!!
My family and I enjoyed the cabin and all it had to offer - comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, kidsâ kayaks, paddles, foosball and more. We stayed in the river most of the time, which was so close to the house. Tom is a great host! We will definitely come again.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home. The cabin on the Frio is roomy, yet cozy. Weather was amazing, so we were able to enjoy the deck and caught some fish down at the river. Smart TV was great, especially as we watched the Astroâs 1st two World Series games! Firewood was provided for a warm fire every night and beds were comfortable. Kitchen is very well-equipped! Great rental!
Loved our stay. The house is well maintained and stocked. Tom was always available to answer my questions. Drive to Lost Maples is about 25 minutes away so very convenient. The water in the river is nice including ankle deep to chest waist levels so was able to put a kayak in the water (which the house includes 2 small kayaks). Would stay here again.

Beautiful property and comfortable house. I loved how the other cabins were spaced apart just enough for our private enjoyment. The front and back was absolutely amazing! Breathtaking sunsets in the front and relaxing direct river view in the back. The house included games for the kids, outdoor ladderball, foosball table, sâmores area a few feet from the river, firewood, washer and dryer, extra blankets, nice open kitchen and living room concept and so much more. I was even impressed with how comfortable the beds were. We enjoyed having dinners on the huge table on the back patio and having direct private access to the river. The river was about 2 feet deep right in front of the cabin but a short walk down or up river lead to deeper water and nice human built dams that made a fun experience for the little ones. The area is well shaded with just enough sun which kept it cool for the middle of summer. Garner is just a 10 min. drive and leaky was about 5 min for grocery shopping and restaurants. This property is going to be our go-to place when we visit the Frio!!
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Less than 5 minutes from stores. The wifi was good as our cell provider (Verizon) is non-existent in the Concan/Frio River region.
Loved the cabin! Tom was so nice to take our call at 2 am since we arrived really late and needed help getting there in the dark. Would definitely stay again!
As always, great stay. We pick this house annually for our friends floating trip for the location, seclusion and private river Bank. The river wasn't floatable while we were there but we had the perfect location to hangout and still enjoy the river. They've also made a few great updates to the house.
The cabin was roomy and the beds were comfortable. We loved spending time on the front porch watching the deer and enjoyed some of our meals on the back porch overlooking the Frio River. Also enjoyed floating and fishing in the river. A relaxing time away! We look forward to returning.
Our family and my college-age son's stayed at the cabin over Spring Break. We had a wonderful, peaceful, time. The cabin is very clean and well maintained, and being able to look out the back porch at the Frio passing by was wonderful. Garner State park is an easy 10 minute drive. I highly recommend this place.
I grew up in Leakey and loved the hill country and Frio River. I moved to Houston for many years but I always came back to the Hill Country as often as I could. Over the years we brought many friends to the cabins to enjoy the peaceful life on the river. Now we enjoy offering our property to others to get a feel for the Texas hill country life.
