Welcome to Sunshine By The Sea ! This incredible 6 bedroom/ 6 bath vacation home has it all. You can’t beat the oceanfront location, swimming pool, huge game room and plenty of outdoor space. You even have a poolside BBQ for the perfect oceanfront cookout.
The main floor has an open great room with a well-equipped kitchen. There’s a huge covered porch off of the living room where you can lounge and take in the ocean view, while keeping an eye on the kids in the pool. The main floor also includes 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.
The lower level is the FUN zone. You have your choice of playing pool, ping pong, or shuffleboard. There are also 4 bedrooms and 4 baths on the lower level, as well as access to the pool.

Our family had a wonderful weekend stay at “Sunshine by the Sea”. The location was great with easy beach access. We also enjoyed the pool. The rooming worked out great for our family, with beds and baths for all! We could have used some beach chairs, but we managed just fine. A little painting needs to be done along with some updates, but we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Spot

Beach and location were perfect. Pool was a great size and we enjoyed the basketball hoop. House had a few minor things that could use a little fix up but we overall had a wonderful trip and the house was more than big enough for our large family!

Amazing family reunion week!

Our family of 10, 6 adults and 4 children, had an amazing week. Plenty of room to spread ourselves, games galore, wonderfully equipped kitchen and the pool was great! The back porch was the perfect place to watch the beach and take a little snooze in the ginormous swing! We will definitely book this house again in the future!

Awesome vacation

We had a wonderful time at Tranquilisea. The inside is spacious and the floor plan was well organized. We absolutely loved the porch and the large swing. It’s where we spent most of the time when not on the beach. A shout out to Dunes Property also. They were quite helpful on our day of arrival. We couldn’t have asked for a better week or property rental. Thank you

Our first time at this home...many wonderful attributes...i would say disappointed that "master" bedroom had double bed...and, a queen would have been wonderful in a couple bedrooms....also. the outdoor grill has rusted out so badly, that the wheel fell off.....the cleaning crew is not doing the job you would expect.....

Wonderful vacation house

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First night in the septic system backed up. At 3:00 A.M., Avocet had all 11 of us a place to move to and took care of the problem so that we were able to move back in less than 13 hours. House itself is perfect for our family, really sound proof for the little ones and the party oriented.

Charming house with lots of room.

House was clean and as described. Views were great. Very comfortable setting. Highly recommended place with multiple families or large families. The grill was in rough shape. Could have been cleaned or serviced. We opted not to use it because of its condition. Everything else was great.

Great Location!!!

Our family had a wonderful time! The reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 is because to bring kitchen linen, TP, PTowels, etc was a hassle when we flew in right before we could get into the property. My feeling was that we were paying lots of money that the basic necessities would be there. They did have a roll of TP in each bathroom at the start, but to purchase everything was a disappointment.

We appreciate the review. Just some clarification. Our team provides a starter kit which includes: 1 or 2 rolls of TP in each bathroom Trash bag liner in each trash can Hand soap bars in the bathrooms Dish Soap Dish Detergent Roll of Paper Towels 1 or 2 Laundry Detergent Boxes The initial supplies are designed to get our guests started for night one or two. As the week progresses we do ask our guests to provide the rest of the grocery items needed for their stay. This is industry standard for most short term rentals. "TRANQUILISEA" is one of our most well received beach houses with plenty of amenities. Most of our guests love the experience.

Location is great….tends to end there

While the property location is great and the views and location can’t be beat, it kind of ends there. Access to the property is easy. However, once we got in there the couches are covered in stains, even the slipcovers were dirty, there is mold in every shower, the patio furniture that should be white looks like it’s never been cleaned and the daybed swing is covered in mold and mildew. For the price tag you’re paying, yes you’re getting location but it being clean and full of mold should also be expected. In addition we found it weird that multiple times we were outside the owner of whoever was watching us on the ring cameras. We heard them through the camera multiple times while we were outside. Also when we were leaving after our stay there was a truck out front watching us leave. All just very weird and not expected especially for the price tag you pay.

Great For Groups!

Had a group of guys getting together, we had a blast catching up. Thought we were going to be going to the restaurants, but we ended up grilling most nights! Highly recommend this property. Awesome house!!!

Fantastic Place

We loved our stay! Very spacious and literally steps to the ocean. Only complaint is that the living room seating needs updated. Couches were very soiled, and there were no extra sheets to cover them with. Other than that it was wonderful. Would stay here again

Best place ever!

We loved it! It was great for all my kids and grandchildren, the porch was my favorite place, view of the beach and ocean was beautiful. Hope to stay here again next year.

2020 Family Vacation

My family of 10 spent a week of pure joy in this lovely beach house. Everyone, ranging from 2 to 76, could not have had a better time. The large house Is directly on the beach, with a lovely pool and the perfect screened-in back porch/deck to gather in the late afternoon for cocktails and sharing of the day’s activities before dinner and the on-going evenings of competitive Shuffle Board tourament. Preparation for dinners were so easy in the large and well equipped kitchen with everything from a crockpot to a food processor and 2 refrigerators. As my granddaughter said, “these are memories we will have forever”. Tranquilisea was the perfect house for us. We have only one huge regret.....we tried to reserve Tranquilisea for next year (2021) but it was not available anytime during the summer school break and it has set such high standards for us that it’s making it extremely difficult to find another computable house. I guess we were lucky to have had this house in 2020. Thanks for the memories.

Glad to be back, since it suits our needs perfectly for family reunion Including grandchildren. Some good little updates like a new mattress. We are very sorry that we didn’t get in early enough to get it at the desired Week for next year, since is was our 5th year at this location.

I can't express in words how comfortable, relaxing. Inviting and warm this home made me. My friends and family feel. We couldn't get enough! I will never stay anywhere else on Folly Beach. My favorite was the bed swing on the porch. Nothing better than hearing the waves break when you fall asleep and wake up. The home is exquisitely decorated with the finest details in every space. Can't wait to get back!

Great home in a great location

Nine adult family members stayed here in late February and the house was great for us (even though it was unfortunately way too cold to enjoy the lovely pool). House has a large screened porch overlooking the ocean which is where we spent every morning. Kitchen was great for meal prep. Renters should be aware that only one bedroom has an en suite bathroom. Two bathrooms are jack-and-jill style, others are down the hall. Not a negative, just good to know if people want more privacy. Some of us found the mattresses not comfortable but that may just be personal preference. Nice game room on the first floor. Overall a very nice rental!
