Thank you for your review, and for sharing your impressions of the property with others. The parcel directly north of Avalon is concluding construction of a new home. (When the initial photography was produced for the VRBO listing, you can see the earliest stages of construction, with pilings being erected next door). The new home has completed major construction as of this writing (July 2023), and the remaining work is "finishing work" (painting the interior, installing new kitchen appliances, etc). Final construction is expected to conclude in late August 2023.

Up and down the coast, there are many outdoor cameras, everything from "surf cams" to Ring doorbell cams that look out from one's front door towards the street. I wish you'd said something to me during your stay; I could have taken care of that for you quickly. (Since nearly all of the neighboring homes are also Beach Houses in Paradise, it's easy for us to disable almost any area camera that you see in the neighborhood. ) When we see you next year, I'll get with you early in your stay and make sure that you feel entirely comfortable. Sorry to learn that Avalon's layout wasn't as pleasing to you as some of our other homes at which you've previously stayed (Eden Beach Retreat, for example, VRBO ID# 4939825 ) When booking the home, I shared with you the home's architectural floor plan, 3D Matterport tool, and several hundred additional photos of the home (VRBO allows only 50 photos per listing. It sounds like you may have not reviewed those materials carefully before proceeding with tthe booking. (From those materials, you can view the 3 closets in the home, as well as the fact that the master bath has only 1 sink, and not two) Note: Sometimes, folks that are new to vacation-rental homes make the mistake of thinking they are like the rooms at hotel resorts ... where each room is similar and nearly identical to the next. That's not so with vacation rental homes .. they are like people: Each home is very very unique and distinct, and very different from the next home. No two are alike. Another mistake that sometimes happens with our beach houses is that our previous guests are so satisfied and pleased with their first stay at a beach house, they book the next beach house based solely on our reputation . . . and don't study the house itself: The photos, video, floor plan and 3D Matterport tour that we provide. While it's gratifying to know that some folks book a beach house solely because it's a "BHIP" beach house that I manage, that's not enough to go on. My advice: Always scrutinize the information in the VRBO listing ... (in other words, when booking a BHIP, you are getting top-notch management, service & quality . . . but don't turn a blind eye to the house itself!) Since you've stayed with us multiple times before, the next time you book, we'll both be careful to make sure the home you are considering has the features that you value strongly (two sinks in the master and additional closet space) Thank you again for your review, and we'll see you next time!

Having previously stayed at a few of our very largest beach houses (8-bedroom and 9-bedroom homes), you understandably may have felt a little hemmed in by Avalon's smaller dimensions -- fewer advertised bedrooms at the time of your booking. (Subsequent to your stay, the owner expanded the home to include two additional bedrooms ). We'll see you next time!
