About the home

“Surfside” is a delightful double-storey split-level family home in Smiths Beach, right on the water's edge, offering stunning ocean and beach views. It's just a short walk from the Smiths Beach General Store, approximately 2 km from the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, and a comfortable drive from the supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés of Cowes and San Remo. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The downstairs light-filled open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living area is the heart of the home (with a 48" Smart TV, DVD player, a selection of board/card games/books/magazines, and a cosy Coonara wood heater), all complemented by fabulous ocean and beach views. The Living area opens onto the large side & rear entertaining Deck, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor living space.

Down some steps to the lower section of the split level is a second Lounge, providing an additional space for guests to relax. Completing the lower level are Bedrooms 2 & 3, each with a hanging clothes rack, a central Bathroom (with shower), a separate Toilet, and a fully equipped Laundry (with a washing machine and clothes dryer).

Upstairs, the spacious Master Bedroom also has a hanging clothes rack and a private Retreat overlooking the ocean, with lounge seating for 2 people offering a peaceful place to relax and unwind with the stunning water views.

Outdoor Areas

The large entertaining Deck (with gas BBQ and 10-seater outdoor dining setting), accessed from the Kitchen, is the perfect place to relax and take in the fabulous ocean and countryside views. It's ideal for alfresco meals with family and friends, or simply unwinding after a day at the beach, which is just a short walk away. The property also features a hot and cold outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off after a day by the water and a firepit in the rear yard. Pets are welcome inside and outside; however, please note that the yard is not fully enclosed - the beach side of the property is bordered by bushes rather than a fence. The property offers parking for up to four vehicles (cars and/or a boat) in the driveway. Please note that the garage is not available for guest use.

Kitchen

The fully appointed Kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, a microwave, Nespresso pod-compatible coffee machine, sandwich press and air fryer, plus a fridge/freezer, electric oven and 4-burner gas cooktop.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There are three wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioners in the home, located in the Kitchen/Dining/Living room, second Lounge and upstairs Bedroom 1/Retreat area. There are mobile heaters in all bedrooms, plus pedestal fans in Bedrooms 2 and 3. The home also has a Coonara-style wood heater, located adjacent to the stairs between the split-level Kitchen/Dining/Living room and second Lounge (some wood provided to get you started).

Bedding Configuration

This home has 6 beds, and 1 sofa bed, accommodating up to 10 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): Two sets of Single bunks

There is also a Double sofa bed in the downstairs Living Room suitable for 2 adults or children.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
