View was amazing and we absolutely loved the location and how easy the beach access was! The beach was not crowded at all! Elevator did not work, so by the end of the trip we were sore walking up 3 flights of stairs all day long. Bring your own baby gates if you’re going to have small children. The number and size of beds fit our guests perfectly! Couches & beds were comfy. Check in, check out, and ease of information was all clear, quick, and easy! We had the best time and will be staying again in future!

We’re sorry the elevator was misbehaving during your stay and understand how difficult those stairs must have been. Not many homes have a true dedicated elevator, so most folks around here get in their workout. These systems are highly specialized, and repairs can be both complex and costly, sometimes requiring a technician to travel from out of state. We’ll appreciate the helpful tip for future guests regarding baby gates. Thank you so much for allowing our 979 Crew to host you at House of Views—we’d love to welcome you back!

An awesome July Fourth Week. We truly loved our stay. The 979 Host was awesome. Clear communication from booking to post departure was outstanding. Their welcome gifts and information booklet was great. Private boardwalk to the beach was nice. Even on the Fourth of July the beach had space to have family fun. We had 6 adults, 6 grandkids and two large dogs. The five bedrooms were perfect.Plenty of bathrooms (4.5 bath). Very pet friendly host also. Even my two pups were given a welcome package.Large kitchen included oversized fridge, large stove, drip or kcup coffeemaker. Plenty of plates, bowls, cups, silverware…enough to feed a small army.Linen and bedding was clean. The breeze from the gulf is awesome! You can enjoy on the bottom floor or on the second or third balcony/wrap around porch. The third floor balcony has a bar style table facing the gulf. We got to see Pelican’s fly by every evening. And unlike staying in the midst of Galveston we didn’t have any seagulls hanging around us. Which is a blessing in disguise. As much as we love the attractions on the north end of the Island we totally loved the remote feeling of being on the south end. A 20-25 minute drive to the attractions isn’t that bad. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend to my family and friends!

I evaluate VRBO/ABNB properties based on the question, "Would I choose to rent this home again?" Unfortunately, I would not opt to rebook this particular home. Here are my reasons: First, the listing indicated that there was a functioning elevator. However, I received a call en route to the home informing me that the elevator was out of order, and we would be receiving a 600 refund. I assumed the living area was on the second floor, so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. To my dismay, the living area was actually on the third floor. This meant we had to carry an ice chest, food, and luggage up three flights of stairs. The most concerning aspect was that we had three individuals over the age of 84 who struggled with the stairs. Additionally, the stairs were uneven, resulting in two family members falling while descending, with one sustaining bruises and scrapes on both arms. The second issue was that the living room furniture was oversized, leaving little room for comfortable movement. Thirdly, all the dining and most outdoor seating was at bar stool height, which posed challenges for the older members of my group. Fourth, the heavy glass top of the dining table was unstable; it lifted twice and nearly fell when someone leaned on it to stand up. Lastly, the parking situation was problematic, as the garage doors were inoperable, forcing us to stack our cars two by two. On a positive note, the house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the biggest advantage was the gated ya

Thank you for selecting one of our homes for your getaway. We’re certainly sorry the elevator being temporarily out of service impacted your family’s stay, particularly with several members of your group who found the stairs challenging. The elevator was unfortunately an unexpected mechanical issue that arose just prior to your arrival. We absolutely understand the frustration of receiving that news while traveling, and we provided a $600 compensation for the inconvenience. We wish we could simply wave a wand and have an elevator repaired immediately, but elevator repairs of this nature are safety related and specialized work. And, in this case, required a service professional to travel from California to Texas. We’re happy to report that the elevator has since been fully repaired and is operational again. Had the elevator being unavailable made the home unsuitable for your group, we certainly would have understood and would have been happy to work with you on alternative arrangements rather than have your family stay somewhere that no longer met your needs. We appreciate your feedback on some of the owner's choices for furnishings and setup and will certainly pass that along. We wish you and your family safe and enjoyable future travels.
