Contacted the host when I booked on January 30 for February 27 check-in. Never received a response from the host acknowledging my message. On February 27th, never received an email or message with regard to accessing the unit. Attempted to contact host again by message & phone the morning of check-in (Feb. 27) at 7:30 AM for the 4:00 PM check-in. Since unable to view host profile, and no actual reviews for the unit, I suspected that this may have been a scam. Contacted VRBO headquarters. They were unsuccessful in contacting host. They refunded me the money and sent me links for hotels in the area. IMMEDIATELY after the cancellation, I received a message from the host stating that she was not awake at 6:30 AM, that the check-in instructions were in with the welcome packet that I received when I booked. This was the first and only communication from the host. As a result of miscommunication, VRBO was unable to get me into the unit and I stayed at a local hotel. VRBO headquarters was great-they resovled my problem, quickly refunded money and offered to pay any additional cost between the unit and hotel. On a lastly note, I am unable to give an accurate description of the cleanliness the location as I did not stay there. But had to rate on the review, so I entered average when it may be excellent or poor.
