About the home
âRed Gum Beach Retreatâ is a delightful double-storey family & pet friendly home in the Red Rocks area of Cowes, just a comfortable walk from the pet friendly beaches and short drive to the supermarkets, restaurants & cafĂ©s of Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
A central hallway provides access to Bedroom 2 and 3 (each with wardrobes & storage drawers), a Bathroom (with a shower over the bath & toilet), a Rumpus Room (with smart TV, Coonara-style wood heater plus plenty of kids toys & games) and through to the lovely bright large open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with smart TV & bluetooth speakers). The Laundry (with washing machine) is accessed from outside the home. Upstairs is another large Living Room (with smart TV), Bedroom 1 (with BIR) and a Bathroom (with shower & toilet).
Outdoor Areas
The delightful rear semi-covered Outdoor Entertaining Area (with gas BBQ & seating for 6) overlooks the fully enclosed block, which is perfect for children and pets alike and even comes with a tree swing in the front yard. The upstairs covered Balcony (with a side table & seating for 2) also overlooks the rear yard. There is a Drive-through Single Carport (with table tennis table) and space for parking up to 5 cars in the Carport and driveway.
Please note: The home has a security camera on the front porch, facing the front driveway and front yard.
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Gaggia Classic Espresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and gas cook top.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There are two wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioners in the home; one in each of the upstairs Living room and the Downstairs Living/Dining Room, a Coonara-style wood heater in the Rumpus Room, and one additional stand-alone heater which can be used where required.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 7 beds, and 2 fold out beds, accommodating up to 10 guests:
Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Downstairs): Two King Single beds
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): Two sets of Single bunks
There is a Double fold out bed in each of the upstairs and downstairs Living Rooms, each suitable for one adult or child.
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process - Local council restrictions are in place for this property and compliance is mandatory.
