Cozy Cottage near Rabbit Hash, Kentucky

Private, serene, tiny house that can sleep TWO with a queen size bed in the cozy, cedar lined loft or queen size sofa bed in the living room. The approximately 400 sq. ft. cottage (not including the loft) includes a modern farmhouse decor with countertops and lined walls from our sawmill located on site. From beautiful views and breathtaking sunsets to nearby historic Rabbit Hash General Store, make this your home base for visiting some of Kentucky’s most exciting places. Boaters can put their boats in at the nearby Weather Oar Knot Marina. Motorcyclists will love the scenic, winding roads!!

Popular places to visit near us include the Ark Encounter, The Creation Museum, historic Rabbit Hash and much, much more!!

If you prefer not to sleep in the loft due to the low ceiling profile, a luxury queen size sleeper sofa is available in the living area which has a brand new memory foam mattress. Our home is located on this property as well; however, entrance to the cottage faces the road for your privacy. We are just steps away should you need anything at all during your stay. Charming, clean, nicely decorated cottage, a close drive to everything but secluded enough to relax to the sound of nature. Green pastures for miles! The hosts were amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.

The cottage was extremely cozy like the name implies. A microwave and better water pressure would have made this perfect, thank you so much!

Wonderful cabin!

We absolutely loved staying in the cabin. It was quiet and everything we needed was provided for us. We would definitely recommend the cabin to others.

The property was just as described. Check in/out was easy. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The tiny house is very charming. We found a couple of local places for meals and they did not disappoint.

Great Stay

We had a great time staying at this property. We would definitely stay here again. The owner is extremely quick to respond to questions & was so nice & helpful in making our stay even better. The property is clean & decorated very well. The area it is in is gorgeous. Short drives to Rabbit Hash, Burlington, Indiana & Cincinnati.

Little getaway

Karin and Sean were Great hosts, Great area. 4 friendly dogs. Plenty of room, had a cool loft. was fun to take the ferry across to the casino We would definitely stay there again just can’t say enough about the place

Cozy cottage near rabbit hash

Great relaxing get away. The tiny house was clean and cozy. Everything I was looking for! Karin was fantastic to work even with having issues witb vrbo reserving the cottage. I hope to return in the future.

Country Getaway

Located in beautiful countryside yet within distance of I-75 for exploring and also visitingThe Ark Encounter. We loved the Tiny Home and our friendly hosts, Sean & Karin. Craftsmanship of home and decorating style made it cozy and comfortable. Driving the country roads and beautiful scenery was fun. We would gladly stay again and loved the break from city living.

Quiet,peaceful, beautiful ❤️

We had a great stay! The only thing I didn’t consider was the bed in the loft is accessed by a latter of steps so when you need the bathroom you will have to go up and down at night. Also I would suggest you bring a foam pad for the fold away bed, you can feel the bars through the mattresses:( BUT we will be back ! Amazing stay and owners❤️

Nothing is tiny but the house

It is a beautiful tiny house. Using lumber from his own sawmill, Sean, made the house so wonderful and so unique inside and out. Karin's skill in design brought beauty and whimsy to the place. Every inch of the house reflects the gift of design and the love of hospitality of its owners. They were so welcoming, so concerned for our comfort during the stay. It was a grand experience.

My sister and I stayed over Labor Day weekend. I rode my motorcycle from Ohio and we had plenty of parking for her SUV and my motorcycle. Cabin was easy to find and very close to Rabbit Hash. The roads around the area are amazing for riding. The cabin was perfect for 2 people. I slept in the loft and she slept on the sofa pull out. We both slept great although the loft is quite small but I was okay with that. We found everything to be super clean and it was stocked with everything we needed. Although we didn’t cook, there were plenty of essentials on hand to enjoy a great meal! Also there are plenty of restaurants in Union (about 30 minutes away).The best part of our stay were the hosts! Sean and Karin were truly amazing! I could have just hung out with them the whole entire time! They made sure we had everything we needed and were so accommodating. In fact, they let me stay an extra night at the last minute! I was so happy If you’re looking for a clean, quiet, beautiful place to stay look no further! There is also another cabin on the property that is a bit larger so if you have more than 2 people this may accommodate you better. I am very excited that I found the Sunset Gem. It will definitely be my go to spot in the future!

Nestle Shack

Read the rules of the cabin as soon as you arrive. It'll help answer questions you may have. The cabin is nice and functional. The kitchen had all the items we needed for our brief saty. There is a store a few minutes down the road that had just recently opened for business and has a few items in there but the selection was lacking (they look to be adding more items though!). The bed was comfy and the furniture was nice. The overall them of the cabin accented well and all the rough sawn material gave it a right down home feel.

Amazing!!!!

Went to this cozy little place as a quick getaway for my girlfriend and myself. Couldn't be happier. Hosts were fantastic and the area is absolutely gorgeous. 10/10, will definitely come back here frequently for more trips!

Romantic Honeymoon Getaway

The Sunset Gem was a fantastic cozy little getaway for our honeymoon. It was remote enough that we felt we had a good bit of privacy but it was also not too far from the city. The rustic ambiance of the cabin was amazing and the smell of fresh cut wood was lovely. The roads to get there were a little bit too windy and twisty for my liking (especially if the weather isn’t the best) but it was nevertheless a fun drive. We totally recommend the Sunset Gem to friends and family!

We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves! Yes, the roads are a little twisty, but there is another way to get here that is a little more direct if you come from the opposite direction but it does take a little longer. Come back any time!!

Kentucky Charm

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy little house. Great size for 2 adults. The hosts were extremely nice and gave lots of great recommendations for places to go around the area since we have never visited this part of Kentucky. We would definitely stay here again!! I miss the puppies and the beautiful sunsets!

A Rare Gem Indeed!

This cabin is all it's claimed to be, and more. The amenities are quality, the decor is amazing, and the hosts will bend over backwards to accommodate you. The setting is not as private as some would wish, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
