We were in need of a change of scenery, and this cabin was the perfect spot! We took scenic drives along the river and in the hills, and spent hours listening to music and chatting on the porch with the beautiful view. Super quiet spot, with the exception of occasional cars or motorcycles enjoying a drive (didn't bother us) - SUPER quiet at night, and felt very secluded. The cabin is beautiful with unique finishes and high quality furniture and surroundings. Thanks for the TV and Amazon Fire Stick, too, for a cozy movie in the evening. We hope to visit again! (You do need a little clearance and the ability to get up a gravel driveway.)
As you opened the door upon entry, the feel of an old world, country home illuminated. The decor was fun & had a story to share as you looked at each piece & how it was displayed. Terrie has a knack for bringing the past with the future.
The new build was that of older, recycled material giving it more of an authentic feel of the old world, as indicated. The decor, linens, pillows with old country offered a different flair to the common weekend rental. You can tell that Terrie put deep thought & time into the display & build of the home to share with others.
Overall, the privacy was not as we would have liked with sheer curtains & owners/hosts being next door made for a bit uncomfortable situation in our opinion, but others have indicated this was not an issue for them so consider this an anomaly. We did experience carpenter ants, which Terrie graciously tried to resolve immediately during our stay which was greatly appreciated. We recognize these situations are out of control of homeowners especially with all the rain, but feel others should know of the situation they may endure as that is what reviews are for.
A Little House on the Prairie was how I deem the feel. Overall average, but the home did provide the simplicity of living merged with the hustle & bustle of todays living.
Lovely, rural home with tons of charm! Definitely one of a kind. My family and I totally enjoyed our stay in this unique, eclectic home. We will book again for sure!
This unique home is tucked away in the rolling hills of KY and is a short drive from the airport. Itâs also conveniently located between both the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. The property is very quiet and private and has everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Terrie responded to any needs we had and takes great pride in maintaining the property. You wonât find another place like it!
Terrie is a great host. With an eye for unique design, she has created a wonderful retreat that is true to the spirit of Rabbit Hash and a comfortable and functional space for guests.
I would have happily stayed for a week! Our experience was just divine. The cabin is cozy and clean and gorgeous and well-stocked. We are looking forward to returning. If I could give 10 stars, I would.
This property is like staying in a piece of art. Beautiful surroundings, everything you need for a quiet getaway in the hills of Kentucky. The stairs to the upstairs sleeping area are tricky and require practice; however, there is a hideaway bed on the first level if you don't want to do stairs. Just lovely in every way.
Beautiful cabin with plenty of room. It was a little more remote than we had anticipated. 25-30 min. Away from creation museum and 45 min. From the Ark. the driveway was very rough to get up. All bedrooms are upstairs. We slept on a fold out sofa downstairs due to the âoddâ construction of the stairs. Not recommended for small children. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back.
We loved the historic area of Rabbit Hash!
Beautiful cabin, beautiful location close to a very cool little historic area completely unlike any other historic area. Definitely planning on taking the kid here for a week in the summer.
We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. We used it as a central location for a visit to the area for The Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter. Then spent a couple of days exploring the Northern Kentucky area. It served itâs purpose well. There were two items that MIGHT be an issue for a family with small children or elderly adults. The steps up to the loft are very steep to conserve space and the water is on a cistern so consumption must be watched. We had no problems with these ourselves but could see where they might need to be considered for people in different situations than ours. Also, be aware we have T-Mobile and had no cell reception while in the house we did have internet so we were fine. We actually really really enjoyed our stay here!
If your looking for a quiet place to get away, this is the place.
The house is very unique and charming.
Love the open floor plan and sitting on the porch watching the firefly show.
We would visit again for sure.
