La Cabaña - A Modern Sanctuary

The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare your own meals or enjoy dining out at one of the nearby restaurants.

Welcome to La Cabaña! My cottage is located in one of Vancouver Island’s fastest growing vacation and resort areas. It is within easy access to exceptional year-round recreation. Located next to Rathtrevor Provincial Park, it is just 2 minutes south of downtown Parksville and 20 minutes north of Nanaimo.

Features a designated on-site parking space for 2 cars. This cottage is an ideal home base to explore Vancouver Island and to work-from-home.

The entire cottage is thoughtfully appointed and all yours to enjoy, including generous front and back decks with outdoor dining and propane barbecue. A cathedral ceiling and the many windows provide a bright, comfortable living space.

The well-equipped kitchen has all you might need including an electric oven range, air fryer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, blender, cooking essentials (pots, pans, seasonings & oil) and multiple coffee brewing options plus beans, tea, sugar and creamer. A smart TV has live streaming and easy access to all your favorite apps. There's an ample-sized desk in the office with extra monitor, a computer speaker and high-speed WiFi to keep you connected.

Enjoy a nice soak in the bathtub/shower in the main floor bathroom or luxuriate in the upstairs walk-in shower. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and a hair dryer so you don’t need to pack your own. The unit is also equipped with a full-size washer and dryer along with detergent in case you need to launder anything during your stay, as well as an iron and ironing board.

Thorough professional cleaning is conducted between each reservation.

Easy self check-in is available using an electric front door keypad. Your personalized code will be provided prior to check-in.

My cottage is located in one of Vancouver Island’s fastest growing vacation and resort areas. It is within easy access to exception year-round recreation. Located next to Rathtrevor Provincial Park, it is just 2 minutes south of downtown Parksville and 20 minutes north of Nanaimo. Take exit #46 off the Inland Island Highway and look for the signs to the right. Conveniently, my cottage is just 30 minutes to seaplane flights to downtown Vancouver and ferry services to the mainland. International airports are only 45 minutes away, in either Nanaimo or Comox.

Within a 5-minute walk is the Grotto Spa, the #1 spa in Canada. Also within a very easy walk, are a British-style pub with spectacular ocean views, a fine dining restaurant featuring local, regional and international dishes and a cozy taco bistro.

The location has endless opportunities for fun, leisure and recreation.
A 36-hole mini golf park (seasonal) is next door and for the true golfer there are six courses within a 20-minute drive.

Rathtrevor Park has an expansive sandy beach with miles of walking and biking trails. The Parksville Community Park, with a sandy beach and seasonal activities for all ages, is just a 5-minute drive away.
Nearby shopping offers a variety of shops, cafes, grocery and specialty stores.

Enjoy the benefits of Oceanside’s central location. There is easy access to the quaint Goats on the roof Market in Coombs, the beautiful Milner Gardens, majestic Cathedral Grove forest, adventurous Horn Lake Caves and the expansive scenery at Qualicum Beach. Also within an hour drive, is Mount Washington or head south for 2 hours to Victoria. North will take you to Campbell River and west to the Pacific Rim National Park or Tofino.

15 minutes north is Qualicum Beach, is a charming seaside town known for its pristine beaches, natural beauty, and relaxed atmosphere.

For those looking for their big city fixes without driving all the way to Victoria, 20 minutes south is Nanaimo, a vibrant city offering a delightful blend of urban amenities and natural beauty and 1 hour north is Comox/Campbell River, known as the "Salmon Capital of the World".
