Amazing!

Our recent stay at Hummingbird Cottage, Oceanside Village Resort in Parksville from April 18-22 was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the pristine cleanliness of the cottage and the peaceful property!The cottage was incredibly cozy, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. One of the biggest highlights was the outrageously peaceful and quiet surroundings, offering the perfect backdrop for a truly relaxing getaway.We were thoroughly impressed with the owners attention to detail in maintaining such a clean environment, and the amenities catered perfectly to all our needs. It was the ideal escape, blending comfort, tranquility, and convenience seamlessly.Without a doubt, we rate our stay a perfect 10/10. Oceanside Village Resort is a gem in Parksville, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable retreat!

The Perfect Family Getaway

We loved everything about our stay. The cottage was spotless and was located in a beautiful, quiet community. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Our kids loved the mini golf course and swimming in the pool. Rathtrevor Beach was just a short drive away. Karen was a wonderful host and provided detailed instructions that made check-in super easy.

Such a lovely cottage, close to the beach and mini golf!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s cottage. The cottage is decorated well and the kitchen is fully outfitted. It’s an easy walk to the beach and mini golf and ice cream! The beds were comfy and we all slept well. We’d definitely come back and stay here again!

Beautiful and Cozy!!!

We loved our recent stay at Karen's cottage! My husband and I, along with our two "kids" ( 21 and 23) and our little dog had a wonderful time. We had the master bedroom, our daughter took the second room and our son had the pull out sofa, it was easy peasy. The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and the perfect location. Karen was lovely to deal with, always prompt with a response to questions. Honestly, it was the perfect getaway for our family before the kids head back to University.So happy we chose it!!!

Great Vacation at Hummingbird Cottage

It’s the perfect place for a family. Amenities including pool & amusement park within walking distance; shopping & restaurants, a 5-10 min drive. And of course the beach & a kids water park nearby as well. The cottage itself is immaculate & well maintained. Overall, the perfect family getaway!

Fantastic Family Getaway

This is our second family vacation at Hummingbird, and we LOVED it. Karen is easy to communicate with and her cottage is just as described. It works perfectly for our multi-generational family getaway, and the location could not be better. Already looking forward to booking next year!

This was our first time renting thru VRBO so i didn't know what to expect. I was more than happy with this tastefully decorated property and want to return on our next visit to the Island. Karen & Merv have thought of everything a person could need during their stay at the Hummingbird cottage. Great hosts!

Peace in Parksville

A quiet property within minutes of amenities. We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well appointed. Many personal touches such as books to read or DVDs to watch.

Good location and clean rooms, we had a great time until a man showed up

We were having a great stay at this lovely property until there was a disturbing incident. On Thursday evening a man drove up in a pick-up, parked across the front of the driveway blocking both cars in, and stormed over to the house where my son and I were chatting near the car. He was clearly angry and without any introduction shouted to my son "What's going on?" We were just chatting, so my son asked him what he meant and again this angry man shouted "What is going on here?" I stepped in and asked what the problem was and again he shouted "What is going on here, why don't you just answer?" Realizing he was looking at our electric vehicle which was plugged into the regular 110V outlet. I explained that we have our car charging. He then told us that he was the owner of the house and why didn't we answer when asked what we were doing. It became clear that he had never seen an electric vehicle charging, so I explained and offered to show him how it worked but he refused to see it. He said that he did not know about this that there would be an extra charge and that we should have asked permission. So I offered to remove it and charge it elsewhere, but this man recognizing that nothing 'bad' was happening reiterated that we should have asked before plugging in a car and then left. He did not introduce himself or apologize. My wife and daughter were very upset at this interaction.

Perfect place for our family!

Karen’s place was perfect for our family! It was well stocked and close to everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the back patio added extra space and privacy. Karen was a great host. Very communicative and accommodating . We brought our bikes and biked to the beach each morning with our dog. Overall, a great experience. Thank you

Hummingbird Cottage is a lovely little space that has everything you may need during your stay. Pride of ownership and desire to offer a clean, family and pet friendly space is apparent. Perfect Get away

Perfect surroundings. Walking distance to mini golf, restaurants and beaches. Short drive to town and local attractions. The rental was well maintained, clean and a perfect place to spend the week with the family. We will be coming back..

We have lived on Vancouver Island for the past fifteen years.
We were drawn to the Island by the stunning beauty, moderate climate and abundance of activities offered year round.
Time spent with family, including our two dogs is what matters the most to us and we enjoy those times especially when we are able to spend them having picnics at any one of the numerous beaches and parks in the area, kayaking or taking in one of the many festivities like beach days and the world class sandcastle competition.
We love to watch the sunset at Qualicum Beach or the Parksville Community Park beach and in the spring and summer viewing cruise ships headed to Alaska are an added bonus to the already spectacular sights of ocean and mountains and wildlife.

As we already have one cottage at the resort and enjoy it immensely, it only made sense to purchase a second cottage so that visitors could come to Vancouver Island year round and have the opportunity to experience the beauty of Vancouver Island.

Hummingbird Cottage is in a unique location in that it offers close proximity to an abundance of outdoor activities such as beach combing, whale watching, fishing, golfing and hiking to name a few as well as walking distance to restaurants, lounges and spas and very short driving distances to city amenities such as stores, banks. ice skating rinks and theatres.
