INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.


E-Checks are accepted for advance reservations at no additional charge (15 days prior to check in). All credit card payments will incur a 3.5% convenience fee.

The elevators were so slow. Some of them weren’t even working especially for it to be a 23 floor building. Couldn’t talk to the front desk, they would hang up on you didn’t matter the situation. The parking was terrible, they need a better system for parking, they don’t tell you that there are limited parking spaces for each room. And if there’s no open spots, you have to park almost a mile away, and expect you to walk back(with a baby or not)

Parking was awful

Condo was not exactly what it said it was. Way too many people. Elevators did not always work. Parking was not available. Had no idea where to park. Took an hour to find where to park. Parking spaces designed for compact cars, not the Expedition we took. Attendants were rude around the pool area. Curtains and table were broken in the room.

Beach disaster

The parking garage was a disaster. There isn’t enough room to make turns. After we parked and made it to the condo, an hr later, we unloaded and took off our shoes. Within 5 minutes, we all had grocery store feet. Both bathrooms had issues. One door knob was almost hanging off and one shower head looked like it would fall out at any given moment. My husband was livid for paying the amount we did.

Great View and Ammendities

We had a wonderful time staying at the condo. The view was amazing and the pool area was great. Bar had great service and very friendly. Everyone working there was a joy and helpful. A few things to mentioned that could use some improvement overall: Check in could use some improvement. Listing shows free amenities and parking. When checked in, the lady at the desk said we had to pay for amenities and parking (only allowed 1 vehicle). Got into the condo after dropping the 2nd car at overflow parking for another price, to find we had everything in the packet for amenities and parking both vehicles. After getting settled, we sat on the 2nd room bed and the slats fell off and mattress sunk in. Maintenance came the next day to fix, but said it really needed a box spring. Lastly there are limited elevators in the complex, no fault of the owner, just takes a while to get up and down from the 16th floor.

Skip this unit- but the building is ok.

Avoid this unit!! The views were nice, and overall, we liked the building, but this unit is in desperate need of some better management. Here were our concerns: -Check in was confusing, and we could not get ahold of anyone to figure out where to park or what unit we were in. -The elevators are an absolute nightmare. We waited 20-30 minutes the first night just to get our things up to the unit. Each time we wanted to go up or down the wait was always 5-10 minutes for an elevator, and this really hindered our enjoyment of the trip. -The sheets on the bed were disgustingly stained with dark red/ brown patches. -Several of the fixtures such as towel rods and toilet paper holders had fallen off the wall and not been replaced. -The shower curtain was covered in black mold. -The kitchen was minimally equipped with supplies. -All the patio furniture was in need of a cleaning. Outside of the issue with the elevator, the building as a whole was great. The pool is wonderful, easy beach access and a great tiki bar on site. If you chose to go here maybe pick a different unit.

Panama Shores

The pool, the beach and Pineapple Willy's are 5 stars and highly recommended while the room was adequate as we had some issues. The second bathroom did have a leak from vent which took a day and half for maintenance to come and finally determine it was room above flooding their bathroom shower as it didn't leak again until the last day of the trip. Was not a fan of having to go through the second bedroom to get to the laundry as caused some issues when kids were sleeping. Room amenities we ok but room stated it came with hair dryer which it didn't (we brought one just in case) and it did come with ironing board but no iron. The elevators were horrible on the day of check-in but learned how best to use them after that but still had a few long waits. I do wish the site had additional elevators for as many floors as they have especially when they know there are beach goers with wagons/beach stuff constantly. And just be careful if your room is floor 13-23 as you are beyond the parking garage levels and must take elevators to load/unload your vehicle. We read comments prior about the parking garage and though it is tight especially for large vehicles which we made sure we didn't have there was no issues finding a space or maneuvering the deck as just took some patience.

Overall, Great trip to Shores of Panama

We had a great time in Panama City Beach FL. Our Condo was very beautiful, once we actually made it to the Condo! I was never able to get the check in app to load so we could not get the information that we needed to check in. Finally reached someone after calling the customer line 3 times and they sent me a PDF with stay info. It took us 2 1/2 hours to look through every # on the parking spots, on 12 parking levels, then they finally told us we could park in any yellow space. So we missed the pre-wedding dinner with our family! I finally went up to the room, which was 4 flights up and back down, because the elevators are ridiculous! We got our parking pass and room bracelets there. Then we had to bring in all our heavy luggage up 6 flights of stairs! After we got to the room, immediately discovered the floors were disgusting! Let black on our feet and socks. Otherwise rooms were beautiful, bed and bathrooms were clean! We did have the bathroom light go out, paint peeling under the shower head, and a doorknob that kept falling off on the smaller bathroom. Believe it or not, despite all this, I will stay there again, it just would have been nice to have been more prepared ahead of time. App needs work! Parking attendants could be way more helpful! They are more like security than attendant s! Bring toilet paper and towels!

Inadequate Essentials for Stay

The location was nice but we did not receive adequate essentials for our stay such as: towels, wash rags, sheets, bed covers. It was stated that our room would sleep six but we were not provided with enough wash rags for the five of us. There were also no fitted sheets, flat sheets, nor covers for the pull out sofa. Luckily, my friend had brought a comforter with her and she slept with that and I had to take the flat sheet and thin blanket off her bed. The shower curtain looked as if it had not been washed in awhile because it had mildew growing on it. We could not walk barefoot on the floor because our feet would be black after walking around. As I stated, it was a nice location and an easy check in process but it was definitely not what we expected regarding cleanliness. We also did not expect to have to sleep with the bare minimum on our first night due to not having sheets/covers. It would have been different if it was stated in the description that these things weren’t going to be provided but it was in the listing that we would have those things. **I messaged the host about not having adequate essentials and they had housekeeping deliver some sheets, cover, and wash rags the next day. This gave us some hope but the lack of cleanliness was very off putting.

Girls Trip

Enjoyed my stay! Condo was beautiful, very clean and spacious for 4 adults. Check in process was AWESOME! Condo located on the beach and conveniently near lots of restaurants and shopping malls. Will definitely stay again at Shores of Panama!!

Enjoyed our stay

The required activities fee is a rip off. However we really enjoyed our stay. I was nervous when I read some of the negative reviews, but we had no problems. Had to call call maintenance for a couple of small issues, they came within minutes and fixed things right away, were very friendly and courteous. There were a few security/ safety issues and they were dealt with swiftly. Two were people throwing things at poolside patrons and they immediately found out which condos were doing it and those people were evicted/possibly charged as the rules stated it was a felony! Read the rules people, things that teenagers think is funny will get you kicked out with no refund! They also removed towels from “saved seats”. We thought security did an excellent job!! The gentlemen that rent out the chairs etc. were extremely rude, perhaps it’s time to search for a new vocation if you’re tired of dealing with customers. All in all we had an excellent stay and would consider returning to the same resort.

DO NOT RENT Unit 1614 Shores of Panama

There were very few pros on this trip besides the proximity to the beach and the view, but any of the other properties at the location have that same benefit. Steer clear of this unit. 1. The 4pm check-in time with no flexibility would have made sense if the unit was clean but it wasn’t. There are other properties at this location with flexible check-in and thorough cleaning which we found out through other guests staying at the Shores of Panama and visits to other units. 2. The guest closet door was completely broken. Wouldn’t close at all and wasn’t on the hinge because the hinge was broken. Not surprisingly, the cabinet door to under the kitchen sink was also broken (be careful because we found this out by narrowly missing a toe). We brought our toddler with us too, so this was obviously a hazard and unacceptable. 3. The whole unit was dusty, dusty furniture, dusty beds, dusty floors. If there had been a mop in the whole unit I would have mopped it myself but there wasn’t one. 4. Walked out to a balcony full of tobacco. Like ripped up cigarettes on every chair, all over the balcony floor, all over the table.. it was a mess. Thankfully there was a broom, dustpan and I brought wipes. I actually found myself doing more cleaning in this unit than the people who get paid to do it, which is absurd. 5. The volume on the master bedroom tv didn’t work. Not the end of the world but still annoying. 6. The shower liners were moldy and dirty. It costs like a dollar for a new shower liner at the Walmart across the street. Do better. 7. A broken shelf from the fridge was kindly placed on top of the fridge for whatever reason, I don’t know. 8. Dirty laundry set. I don’t know if you’ve ever opened a moldy/mildewing washing machine but if you go to this property you can get firsthand experience. Found myself cleaning hair and gunk from the previous guests out of the machines before I could wash baby clothes. A mess. 9. Parking. This unit does not have an assignment parking space!! In case you’re not sure what that means.. you’ll have to look for a spot that is not reserved across the 12 parking garage floors. There aren’t many of those and depending on when in the year you go this could mean driving in circles until someone gives up a space. There are MANY units with assigned parking on the SAME floor as the unit. Find those properties, steer clear of this one.

After spending an hour finding a parking spot and 30 minutes waiting on the elevator, we got to our room. People clothing were left behind and no bed clothes for the smaller bedroom. We called and got them right away. Next evening we looked for a parking spot for over an hour. Every spot was taken and we had to pay to park elsewhere and walk half a mile after paying $60 for our parking pass. Huge disappointment and no one could explain why I couldn’t park in the garage. Wednesday night I went to the store and bought over $200 in groceries for the remainder of our stay. Got back to both eleavators broken and had to carry our groceries up 10 flights of stairs. Then I woke up to cook breakfast only to find out I have zero pots or pans. I called 5 times and they said they were working on it. I never received them and had to throw away all my groceries plus spend more money to eat out all three meals. Location was great. Crowded but nice and fun. I will never book through panhandle getaways again but shores of panama is not the worse place to stay

Amazing stay!

This condo was beautiful, great location and the owners always responded quickly when I needed help! It was clean and decorated very cute! I loved how the second bedroom had an option that was not a bunk bed, and the master room was gorgeous! Everything was wonderful

Great place to stay.

Overall we had a great time even with hurricane Sally coming through. The elevators were a pain sometimes but to be expected in such a busy place. Took them a couple days to get the pool up and running but other then that a great vacation.
