Beachfront Home on Chesapeake Bay - Gwynn’s Island

Beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay in a rural setting. Private sandy beach ideal for young families. Enjoy canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking or fishing. Huge spacious deck with dining table, hammock and chairs for lounging. If you enjoy watching wildlife, you may spot dolphins, ospray, sea turtles, muskrats, cranes, eagles and an assortment of local birds. The interior has been recently renovated and features a spacious and open floor plan with lots of natural light. Two bedrooms have queen beds with en-suite bathrooms. The third bedroom has twin bunk beds and a double bed. Please note that there are three security cameras located around the perimeter of the property for the security of our guests and the property.

Wonderful stay!

This was our first time to Gywnn Island and won’t be our last! The house is gorgeous and the owner has thought of everything that you would need. You feel like you have the whole area to yourself, even with the RV park next door you really didn’t notice it. It’s a fantastic trip to get away from the busy everyday things and slow down!

Second Perfect Stay

Our second year vacationing at Daisy's beautiful home. The house is appointed with everything you could need and more. Beautifully and comfortably appointed. The location is convenient to so much, but you still feel glorious privacy. Daisy is prompt an to communicate with, and makes the hole stay seamless. Would book it again for next if it wasn't already full.

Perfection

We had an amazing stay with our pups! The house is stocked with everything you need, it’s bright & airy, we loved the remoteness & the private beach was heaven! Day trips to Gloucester & Williamsburg which are both within an hours drive & are dog friendly. We travel quite a bit with our pups & this is by far the nicest place we’ve stayed. So nice I’m booking our next trip! Daisy is an amazing host!

Wonderful week!

Absolutely delightful! The house and decor were beautiful. The owner provided any amenity you might need. Comfortable beds, great view, private beach with chairs, and so much more. We will definitely be back!

A little piece of Heaven

This was a superb holiday ... The cottage was delightful, neat and orderly with spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay ! We had our own private beach , with nice sturdy chairs and soft white sand. It was lovely just sitting, reading on the beach and watching all the wonderful wildlife .... a very special place !

Absolutely amazing!

This house is stunning- from the views on the porch to the decor you feel as if you are surrounded by high quality high end items. The space was beautifully designed in every room and the porch/patio area had the most comfortable furniture. The beach was private and large and the kayaks and water toys ect available for use were above and beyond what we had imagined. We look forward to booking our next trip and highly recommend this property to others!

Fantastic

We were visiting family that lives in the area for Christmas and rented this lovely home while there. Every detail was thought about and taken care of. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, cookware, and dishes. The owner thoughtfully provided lots of extras including soap, shampoo, bug spray, etc. We look forward to renting again.

Wonderful!!

My Husband and I have been visiting Mathews every Summer since 2006. This is by far one of nicest, actually the nicest, experience that we have ever had while on vacation. The house is beautifully appointed inside and out. We wanted for absolutely nothing. You feel perfectly secluded with the landscaping and private beach, while still being close to town and all that the area has to offer. Hoping to stay next year and many to follow.

Enjoyed evry minute!!

The host thought of everything more. We were so impressed with every thoughtful attention to detail. They went above and beyond to help guests feel welcome and comfortable...including a fully stocked game closet, another closet with beach towels, bug spray, sunscreen, beach bag and other beach gear, binoculars, a variety of books, colored pencils and activity books for all ages, just to name a few amenities. The home design touches were tasteful yet creative. The beds were super comfortable too. My ONLY suggestion is to add a bench to the outdoor shower. we all hope to return soon.

above and beyond

I was so impressed with the quality of this house - beautiful renovation, super well-stocked and high quality everything. Beach gear was plentiful and in great condition. House was bright and airy with a beautiful view of the Bay from the porch, living room and kitchen. Communication with Daisy was easy and friendly too. The RV park is next door but wasn't an issue for us, except maybe detracting from the view just a bit.

Sisters' Respite

What a view! What a house! It has all the creature comforts and this home is absolutely wonderful. There were 3 of us (sisters) on our annual beach pilgrimage. We chose Daisy's place mainly for the private beach, private baths and the fact that it is on Gwynn's Island, but we were surprised by the tranquility and peacefulness of the area. We were delighted to have 2 Great Blue Herons to keep us company. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the beach at sunset was blissful. The location is central enough for day trips and we especially enjoyed our day trip to Gloucester. Charming town with an abundance of history. Daisy was such a responsive host and a pleasure. We loved it so much we have already booked our annual trip for next year.

Better Than Advertised!

My family and I have vacationed in the Virginia area for almost a decade now. Every year the houses seem to get better and better. I don't know that any one will ever top Daisy's home. Firstly the house is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, modern and comfortable. Clean. The grounds simply can't be beat. From the huge front yard with large U shaped driveway to the back deck and everything in between just awesome. Then you get to the view. And the PRIVATE beach. And its private which for us was almost unheard of. Everything you might need is supplied inside and out. An amazing gate on the back deck so we didn't have to worry about our dog was just perfect. Dog loved swimming in the water too! Our family is already hoping to go back next year. An absolute Gem of a house! Thank you so much Daisy for opening your beautiful home!

Paradise!

This is the most amazing, beautiful, perfect condo you can possibly imagine. The view, the beach, the peaceful surroundings plus everything you could possibly want or need in the cottage. We only regret that we didn't rent it for longer. The interior was immaculate; like brand new. My brother and I went to Gwynn's Island on a nostalgia trip because our parents took us there on vacations when we were very young. We only regret that we are almost 80 and don't know how many more years we will be able to make the trip from Florida. But, if we do, we most certainly will rent this cottage again. Awesome!

The Best!

Our family had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend here. The house is perfection - everything you could possibly think of is there. The attention to detail on the inside and outside of the house is unmatched. The owner must be a professional interior designer! The location is beautiful with expansive views of the water from the main rooms. We enjoyed paddling the kayaks to the nearby peninsula and fishing just off shore from the house in the fishing kayak. There was only one problem - we didn’t want to leave… Can’t wait to return.

You will not be disappointed

This was a birthday getaway with girlfriends. Daisy must be an interior decorator. She thought of everything in this lovely space. Saw a blue heron, a tree frog on the deck, an osprey family nesting in tree. We stayed with not much activity going on at campground, but lots of trees for privacy. Pizza from Southwind in Mathews was delicious. They deliver!

We had a great time! Our dog went in the water and got super wet! We went fishing and caught a ton of seaweed and our dad had to get it off! We went kayaking and it was super fun! Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 star!!
