My husband is a wildland fire fighter and we are from the diamond lake area, and he got called to fight the cedar creek fire. While there we got this vrbo. It was absolutely perfect and so beautiful. We felt at home!
This was perfect! We had a great time with family and enjoyed having a cozy clean place to go home to. We will definitely be returning in our future trips to Oakridge.
We spent 3 days (2 nights) at the Cog House during a two week tour of the PNW. We enjoyed hiking to Salt Creek and Diamond Creek falls and getting to know Oakridge. It rained most of our 3 days so we spent more time in the Cog House than we had planned and it had everything we needed. One thing that could have improved our stay would have been updated laundry facilities. The washer worked but took a long time to complete a load. We found the house very clean and easy to access.
Showed up to this property for a 6 night stay and there was a FOR SALE sign in the yard (not mentioned in the listing). Had I known the property was for sale I would not have booked because I donât like the possibility of random people entering the property or if the property would have been sold before our stay and we would have been without a place stay. One of the wooden porch steps broke when walking up them. My son went into the room with the twin beds and there was animal hair and dead grass on both beds. There was cobweb spanning from the night stand to the pillow of one of the twin beds. The main bedroom had a spider web with an alive spider in it in the corner. The laundry room was disgusting and had hair and dirt all over the floor and between the washer and dryerâŠas well as the dryer and washer were dirty and used dryer sheets laying between them. The front and back yard grass was completely dead (not like in the pics advertised).I attempted to contact both hosts with no success within 15 minutes of arriving. I called VRBO who also tried to reach the host with no success. I was not staying with my family in a house with safety and health hazards so we left and booked another place. The host responded 6 hours later (when I had already gone to bed). VRBO is refusing to refund me even though we never stayed and we could not get ahold of the host. The host is no longer responding to my messages requesting a refund due to their negligence of the property and conditions.
This house is just what we needed for our exploration of Oakridge and Westfir. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the A/C already turned on, which we were thankful for on a hot day. The house is spacious and well stocked with items needed for cooking. The location is within walking distance to the local brewery and the town market (weekend). The grocery store is a longer walk or a quick drive away. We had stopped at the Mercantile on the way into town and they were very helpful in providing information about mountain biking in the local area. If bringing bikes, there's a lockable shed in the backyard to store them in. The owner is not in town, but is completely reachable if needed.
This house is located within a very short walk of the brewery in town. The interior has been recently updated and the furniture was comfy. The mattresses were excellent to sleep on after a long day of riding and even though it was 100 degrees while we were there, a portable A/C unit provided relief from the heat.
Easy to find and close to some of the best spots to eat and drink in Oakridge. The kitchen was well equipped, the appliances were brand new, and there were nice details like tupperware to use. The big back yard and fire pit were fantastic touches. This is a great place for a family or group of friends. The only important "heads-up" to share is that the walls are thin and the overnight trains are close and plentiful.
This sweet little 3 bedroom home was perfect for our weekend in Oakridge. My mom, husband, and I, and our yellow lab had a great time. I appreciated the French Roast Coffee! The backyard offered a play yard for chasing balls for our dog. And located just blocks away from Oakridgeâs Brewery. We had a lovely stay!
