Birds and Bees cottage is on a working farm. Perfect for those who love to be around animals and farm life! From the 2 Guardian Llamas to the turkeys and bees, there is a lot to watch on this farm!
The bright and cheerful yet romantic living room has amazing views of the mountains overlooking the farm. Enjoy a meal at the pub table facing the large window and catch the sunset. The cozy, comfortable kitchen has all the amenities you'll need for a relaxing night in. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one room with a queen bed and another with a twin and trundle that share a full bathroom.
Sit on the front porch and take in the lay of the land, while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Stop by local vineyards for a tasting and bring a bottle back.
Just a few minutes from Kings Family and Chiles Peach Orchard, it's the perfect getaway but close enough to easily attend a wedding or polo match! Birds and Bees cottage is truly one of a kind!
Loved staying at the Birds and Bees Cottage. It was so peaceful waking up each day, sitting on the porch and enjoying the views of the farm. This cottage was the perfect spot to unwind after visiting some local wineries. It was quiet and very easy to relax on the porch with a good book in the evening. Hope to return in the fall.
What an amazing location and charming house this is. It was perfect for a week out in the beautiful landscape of Crozet VA. I loved sitting on the back deck and looking out at the mountains in the distance and the farm animals very close (but behind a fence). The house was clean and well stocked and I had no issues with any of the appliances or fixtures. It's a great location only minutes from the polo fields and surrounded by beautiful vineyards, orchards and markets. I met Judd on the first day and he was very welcoming and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again in the future!
Lovely little cottage in the country. Perfect porch for sipping coffee in the morning or watching to sunset. Close to wineries, breweries, hiking and not far from Charlottesville! We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the Adirondack chairs.
Our hiking trip to Shenandoah Nat park was unexpectedly enhanced by our stay at Birds and Bees cottage! What a lovely, comfortable place with amazing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and acres of pastures. The turkeys and llamas were so interesting to watch. I particularly liked when the turkeys gobbled in unison! The owners were very nice and informative. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
We had a really nice time at this beautiful farm. It's a unique experience being able to stay on a working turkey farm with guard llamas and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The property is centrally located to much of the Shenandoah National Park area, making it a convenient base camp. The hosts are wonderful people and I highly recommend this location.
What an incredible place! The cottage is set in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been yet a short 10 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants. There are so many places to explore nearby too- orchards, wineries, etc.
The owners are kind and welcoming and the house is exactly as pictured.
We cannot wait to return in the future!
Our stay at the Birds and Bees Cottage was a nice surprise for 3 nights at the end of June while we visited family close by. We lived in Charlottesville for a long time before moving away and I was happy to find something in a location away from the traffic and congestion. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. Our favorite part, despite the rainy weather, was the scenery and quiet. It is tucked away but still close to Crozet and Charlottesville. It was fun to learn about the Kelly Bronze turkeys and the Birds and Bees Honey production. We will definitely try to stay there again if the opportunity arises!
This setting was absolutely bucolic, and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were stunning. But it seemed as if the owner was not ready for our visit. We arrived on a very chilly day, and the heaters had been turned on, but not long enough to warm up the cottage. We actually had to sleep in our coats it was so cold that first night. It took almost 24 hrs for the cottage to feel comfortable. It appeared that we were the first guests of the year, and the cottage had not been deep cleaned since the last visitors from the previous October as the fireplace was full of spent ashes, there were dead stink bugs everywhere, cobwebs in the corners, dust on the baseboards, and the place smelled very musty.Otherwise the cottage was great. The kitchen was well equipped with full size appliances which we appreciated because we were there for 10 days, and cooked a lot of our meals. It was nice having a mini washer & dryer to use. The bed was very comfortable, the tv was huge, and plenty of hot water. The owner was super friendly, and let us observe the arrival of 18,000 turkey eggs to his farm. We enjoyed watching the llamas, and the birds feeding on the deck each morning. The location was perfect for us as my family lives within 15 minutes of the farm.So even though our first impression of the place could have been better, it would not stop us from returning.
Birds and Bees Cottage is on a working farm with 2 Llamas and during April or May - November, lots of KellyBronze turkeys. We (me with wife and 2 daughters) rented the cottage over the Christmas Holiday as several members of my wife's family live in Crozet and we were there to visit them. Unfortunately, an unusual cold front hit the area and knocked out power to the mountain for about 32 hours. Judd was very quick to hook up a generator to supply the cabin with power and we remained very comfortable until full power was restored. He even gave us a supply of wood to have a nice fire in the fireplace. Further, Judd and Cari were kind enough to speak with my daughter about their careers as she is interested in animal sciences. This cabin is the perfect get-away for up to 4-5 people and is very close to the town of Crozet and many vineyards/wineries. I could not give a higher recommendation for a place to stay. Thanks Judd and Cari!
Very cute cottage and lovely deck for enjoying coffee and/or cocktails. My 3-year old granddaughter was thrilled with the turkeys! She enjoyed talking to them and having them talk back. This is an experience she will never forget.
My family of three (2 adults and one 3yo) had the best time at the cottage. As we approached upon arrival we had breathtaking views of fields and fields of pink-blossomed peach trees. The view from the cottage itself was beautiful, with mountains in the distance and a peaceful farm in the forefront. Highlights were having breakfast views of the llamas each morning and seeing the trains go by daily. The home itself was very comfortable and the fireplace a bonus. We hope to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the porch, grill, and firepitâŠand of course to see the turkeys! The hosts were great! Location was central to vineyards, kid activities (check out Pickle Meadow Farms!), orchards, and more.
Super cute cottage on a beautiful property with a great Mountain View. Clean, cute, close to 151 trail, and a minute down the road from a peach orchard. Water pressure in kitchen was a little low but no problems in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable, would 100% stay again!
We spent a week at the Birds and Bees Cottage. We found the cottage to be just the right size and surrounding farm is serene and lovely. We would love to visit again in the future.
Location is close to wineries, breweries, hiking and restaurants.
My family had a great time at this little house on a farm. My 2 year old really liked the alpacas and various farm equipment working in the field across from the porch. Great location for visiting wineries or just getting out in the country. We would certainly stay here again.
Perfect spot to unwind and take in the beautiful mountain views from the rocking chairs on the front porch. House was comfortable for our family of four and had everything we needed. Kids loved spotting the llamas.
A really ideal place to stay. Close to wineries and a short drive (~15/20 minutes) to downtown Charlottesville. The animals on the property were a lovely bonus, and the views were beautiful. Would definitely come stay again.
