We had a wonderful stay. The view and location can't be beat. The house definitely needs updates from mildew in the bathroom to kitchen cabinets that are hard to open. The truth is the view and location make up for pretty much any issues with the house.
We have stayed here before and will stay here again. Itâs a great rental with everything we need in a great location on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The house is very clean and is a great size for our family.
Fantastic spot for some R&R.
The house was just perfect. We especially loved the sunroom porch area with the roll up garage doors and weâll appointed kitchen.
The property manager Patti addressed all our queries in a timely fashion.
Definitely a 5/5 stay
Super nice location, beach is great out front for kids (sand shrimp digging for hours). Great privacy despite having neighbor houses close by on either side. Well stocked. Very comfy beds. Southern exposure provides sun all day.
Loved this location so much. The beach is amazing when the tide is out, close to everything, quiet, relaxing, just what we needed. The kitchen and bathroom could use some updating but nothing that would prevent us from coming back. Everything was clean and cozy and the sun porch was heavenly! Would definitely return. :)
This was our third year in this well appointed beach cabin with a gorgeous panoramic view of the puget sound , Olympic mountains and mt Rainer in the distance. We spent our days walking the beach , reading on the deck , playing golf and exploring near by Langley .
The property manager Patti was fabulous as always. Definitely a five star retreat!
We loved staying here. Watching the tides come in and out and the birds migrating across the bay in the mornings and back in the evenings filled our time. The kids loved just walking straight out to the beach every day or walks along sunlight road to look for blackberries. The house had multiple places to sit and we ate dinner out on the deck multiple times. We all loved it and appreciated the slow lifestyle. Thank you!
Love this beach. Bring your paddle-board or kayak. Sadly no beach toys, not even any buckets and only 2 beach towels, and no umbrellas for any shade, and the house is older, but very clean and good kitchen setup and good space for the 5 of us. A few things for beach fun would make a big difference, but for now BYO.
Well, all I can say is my husband wants to add garage doors to our home. Having the ability to bring the outside into the space was so nice.
The only draw back for some people would be the steep stairs going to the upstairs bedrooms and no bathroom up there. But trust me, the home was warm and cozy and we loved every minute of our time there. It was hard to leave.
This was a perfect place for three friends to spend a weekend knitting and relaxing. The view is amazing and we loved the deck and sun porch. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. It is an older house, but very comfortable. It was so quiet and relaxing. The beach access is easy and its so nice to have a deck, lovely yard and beach right off the back door of the house,
While this property would be great for an active family, I was looking for a nice place to have some quiet time for myself. I loved it! Wish I could have stayed longer.
This home is situated in a wonderful beach neighborhood with an amazing back yard that led directly to the beach. We a little trouble accessing the house, as the key lockbox was broken. It took a little while, but we finally got in. The interior of the home was very nice, especially the sunroom off of the living room. Thereâs a good grocery store nearby (The Goose) and the home location was a good base for exploring the island. My granddaughters had a ton of fun playing on the beach, finding sand dollars and colorful shells and rocks -- tons of fun. A couple of details to consider:
âą Both bathrooms are downstairs, and the main bathroom doesnât have a bathtub (something to consider if you have small kiddos)
âą When the tide is low, use caution if you want to walk out very far as the beach is mud flats in some places; we got stuck in mud up to our knees at one point
Neither of these are showstoppers, we had a fantastic weekend all around, would definitely book again in the future.
Although parts of it need some updating (the bathroom is pretty tired), ultimately you don't come to a place like this to spend your time indoors. Come here for the large deck, the beautiful views, and for the sandy beach. Useless Bay experiences large tides, and on lower tides it becomes a huge sand flat perfect for exploring and playing. When the tide is in, kayaking, paddleboarding, boating become the name of the game.
This isn't a luxurious place, but it's comfortable enough for a getaway to a beautiful spot. Also close to restaurants, coffee, groceries, etc. in Bayview & Freeland, and a very easy drive to Langley.
We had a fantastic time here with our family (2adults, 2 kids). The location is quaint, amazing and right on a private beach. Very quiet neighborhood and scenic views. The house is a bit dated in some areas, yet very accommodating in most others. Plenty of room for the 4 of us with a room to spare. The views we woke up to are breathtaking and the kids had a blast!
Management left a very thorough binder detailing the house and local info (food, wineries etc) that was most helpful.
Some of the furniture (particularly the outdoor table does not include an umbrella and needs to be replaced) and kitchen millwork. I would say it didn't take away from the experience. Would have loved to stay a bit longer and we plan to come back.
We have lived in Washington our whole lives and never knew about this spectacular beach. The views are amazing (we also scored some really nice weather for April!), and the house was cozy and quaint. We canât wait to come back! We found some small ants in the house each day, which was the only negative but they seemed harmless. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place!
We are just so pleased with our stay. Our 2 kids (ages 9 and 5) had a great time both inside and out. Very comfortable stay and some very nice details with quality dishes, appliances, and linens. You can tell it's an older place, but some of the updates are very nice and it just felt ....right.
The weather was a bit rough, which allowed us to enjoy the view from inside while working on a puzzle all day.
The sandy beach was very cool. The tide was way in during the day, completely covering all of the sand. But we noticed the tide was waayyyy out at night. If you time it right, the beach would be epic. I've yet to stay the same place twice on Whidbey, but it might be hard to stay somewhere else next time. Thank you so much!
The location of this property is outstanding. The sandy beach is literally off the back deck; wonderful views, walking when the tide is out and generally enjoying the beach atmosphere.
The house is well appointed with comfortable places to hang out. The only drawback is the bathroom situation. One small bath downstairs and a toilet and sink in the downstairs bedroom.
That said, we loved our stay and would come back.
